    the last temptation of christ

Demonic movie. Absolutely butchers scripture in very intentional and very (I hate how cliche it sounds, but it’s true) israeli ways. In it Christ might as well just be an angry pervert rather than the Son of God.

It obviously deviates from scripture but i saw it as more so an allegory of humanity's struggle rather than supplanting the narrative of christ. Jesus in that film is the best that a human can do

Maybe if you're a drug addicted bourgeois like Scorsese.

This is uplifting but it's also kind of sad because Andy and Red are alone in the world; They don't have wives or kids. They have each other but it's not as happy as it should be. It's still a great movie because you can interpret their prison sentence as life and they met each other in Heaven.

I wouldn't call going to prison for life only to learn that you were probably framed for your alleged crime 20 years into your sentence uplifting. Andy is middle aged by the time he escapes.
