White people are so racist despite thinking they are tolerant its insane. You can't have a non white character like her or black panther or Shang Chi or Falcon with his own show these days no everything has to center around their race. I don't even think War Machine ever made a big deal about his race but once you got Disney and white guilt homosexuals and their claws on this shit, non whites only personality is their race or religion.

A (white) character having an Egyptian girlfriend he met while working in Egypt and getting Egypt-powers from an Egyptian God doesn't feel forced?
And in a scene literally set in Cairo, an Egyptian bystander saying "oh look, Egypt has it's first Superhero" (there are less than 50 on the entire planet we know of) doesn't seem forced either?

Moon Knight, the last Disney+ show, featured a guy who got powers from an Egyptian God of Vengeance. Thor has shifted to literally being a Norse mythological God. Black Panther communes with the ghosts of his ancestors because of their worship of a Panther-God.

Wait ... it's been a bit, but didn't the magic Asian people in Shaggy Chi come from "Magic Asian Dimension" with Pokemon folk tale creatures and dragons and shit?

AND America Chavez ... Magical Dimension hopping Latina/ Mexican girl is from "Lesbian Dimension".

So ... Magic Middle Eastern people come from Genie Dimension (and seems to have clear ties to the 10 rings in some way given the opening scene)?

What's Kevin saying with this? All the important magical non-white people are from or related to people from other dimensions.

On a streaming budget, her default powers would look pretty cringey almost guaranteed.
And without Quasar, no one has this powerset, whereas shrinking/growth is covered by two existing heroes, and stretching by at least one.

So while I don't fully condone it, I do understand.

        Anonymous

What I DON'T understand is the credits where they show comic Kamala using her comic powers, that strikes me as pretty odd.
But again, it filters back to "streaming budget", they probably did not have the resources to redo all of that stuff.

          Anonymous

Came here to say this. After going out of their way to change Kamala's powers, they then design the entire end credit sequence around art from the actual comic books. Which is fine, its not a bad idea in a vacuum in an advertising sort of way, but the chose art from the comics where she is using her powers. Powers that she doesn't have in the show. Which just seems dumb.

Probably still not as dumb as the Avengercon scene, though, where apparently entropy just doesn't exist and a thing that slowly falls over spends the next 2 minutes rolling around FASTER instead of slowing down. Seriously, put that giant ant man head in a generator and you'd have a perpetual motion machine.
Speaking of, as someone who actually goes to conventions... who the frick holds a convention in what is clearly an abandoned warehouse down by the docks? Do they not know these things happen in hotels and shit?

The Marvel Universe is not exactly brimming with solo teen girl superheroes, and this one has a connection to their Captain Marvel franchise, has had a recent, well-received comic run, and (let's admit) crosses some boxes important to modern Disney.
The Human Torch isn't going to be a tv character, his SFX will probably have the budget of an entire season of Ms. Marvel.

I guess what I am saying is that none of the interesting bits explored in the Ms. Marvel comic have anything to do with her powers, and when they start REALLY exploring her (inhuman) origins, the whole effort goes downhill.

Movies made Juggernaut a mutant (twice) and Negasonic into Canonball and Green Goblin a suit of armor with a supersoldier in it, with minimal pants shidding.

Calling them demons is misrepresenting them. Demons make them sound evil by nature, when they aren't. They are just a sort of magical people, like dwarves or fair folk. Some Djinn are good, some are bad, the same way some humans are good and some are bad.
