My biggest gripe is you going to have it be musical and with multiple tracks per episode why the frick didn't they cast people that could ya know actually sing. The only tracks that made them sound any good had some form of post processing, autotune or pitch correction. The problem I have with musicals is when the songs don't flow like songs, they're exposition dumps where people are singing. There is a band called the decemberists they like to tell stories in their songs. for the most part they aren't just reading a paragraph in a singing fashion. They are still structured like songs. You can pull them up without the context of the show and listen to it by itself. There are very few tracks here anyone would want to actually listen to if they bought the soundtrack.

I enjoyed the pilot, but the show was just kind of average. It probably would have been better if Angel Dust and Vaggie weren't in it, and I'm not just saying that because they're gay.
So, plotwise, keep the extermination day where angels come down and kill demons, and keep Charlie wanting the hotel in order to redeem sinners and send them to heaven - but from there what do you do to fix the show?
The big sort of glaring issue I saw, and I was shocked that they didn't lean into it it seemed so obvious, is that every single person in hell deserves to be there. Every human soul in hell deserves it for what they did on earth, and Lucifer certainly deserves it for rebelling against God and proverbially giving man fire. However, there's one person in hell who doesn't deserve to be there: Charlie. Charlie was never on earth in order to sin, Charlie hasn't rebelled against God. And now Charlie is trying to redeem souls in order to get them into heaven.
So I'd say Charlie should never swear. She should come really close, but always change the word to something like sassafras. Then with the plot you move her meeting with heaven up in the schedule, like episode 3ish instead of 6 where it was, and eventually she gets the option where she will be allowed to enter heaven, but all of her so-called people will still be stuck in hell. This could actually provide some character growth on her part, instead of what happened where basically daddy comes and saves the day.
As far as minor characters Lucifer's sin is pride.
His wacky happiness is really offputting. He should be more brooding and he should hate humans because he views them as utter failures considering the great gift he gave them which they threw into the gutter. He may even agree with the concept of extermination day.

I did see it. Adam dies, sure, but I don't see how that makes his character better with what we saw. Continuing exterminations seem quite likely because that angel that ripped her own arm off will be pissed - and there's a reason Sarah okayed the exterminations in the first place. One redeemed soul still leaves millions of sinners who may one day rise up against heaven.
I want to run an episode through an AI redub and remove all the cringe out of place cursing and see how much it improves it but I'm lazy so I haven't yet.

This fricking show finally came out after all? I had written it off ages ago.
Someone said it correctly. This would have been the shit in the early 2000s or something. But now it's extremely stale and not edgy or subversive at all. They blatantly said they wanted to take the concept of Hell and turn it into a safe space for gays and theater kids. About as socially acceptable a piece of media as you can possibly make in current year.
And the creator sold out, fricked over the people who did free promotion for her in the early days, and wanted to make a mainstream product with massive studio backing. Any "indie luster" it had to begin with is gone.
Took 5+ years, and I can't say it was particularly worth it.

I enjoyed it. Heaven is less bad than implied in the first episode, songs are mostly god, animation gets better andrelations between character makes sense. Sasly plot and worldbuilding doesn't always make sense but it's also not awful.

Did we even see the same show? Every other word was “frick this” and “frick him” and “frick me”. I don’t mind swearing, but it’s the way they did it- which was by doing it waaaay too much and at times when it really wasn’t necessary. You know what it reminded me of? All the characters talked like 11 year olds who had just learned about swearing, but still didn’t quite have the hang of it yet how to do it right.

How do you fix the show?
So, plotwise, keep the extermination day where angels come down and kill demons, and keep Charlie wanting the hotel in order to redeem sinners and send them to heaven - but from there what do you do to fix the show?
The big sort of glaring issue I saw, and I was shocked that they didn't lean into it it seemed so obvious, is that every single person in hell deserves to be there. Every human soul in hell deserves it for what they did on earth, and Lucifer certainly deserves it for rebelling against God and proverbially giving man fire. However, there's one person in hell who doesn't deserve to be there: Charlie. Charlie was never on earth in order to sin, Charlie hasn't rebelled against God. And now Charlie is trying to redeem souls in order to get them into heaven.
So I'd say Charlie should never swear. She should come really close, but always change the word to something like sassafras. Then with the plot you move her meeting with heaven up in the schedule, like episode 3ish instead of 6 where it was, and eventually she gets the option where she will be allowed to enter heaven, but all of her so-called people will still be stuck in hell. This could actually provide some character growth on her part, instead of what happened where basically daddy comes and saves the day.
As far as minor characters Lucifer's sin is pride.
His wacky happiness is really offputting. He should be more brooding and he should hate humans because he views them as utter failures considering the great gift he gave them which they threw into the gutter. He may even agree with the concept of extermination day.
Adam a bit less dudebro. Keep him completely psychopathic and egocentric.

They hinted pretty strongly that a big focus of the immediate future is going to be actually saving and redeeming souls going forward, because they now know it works and they no longer have any official opposition, and secondly how Charlie’s mom Lilith plays into all of this. They kind of spelled it out and are telegraphing where the show is headed, Anon
I did see it. Adam dies, sure, but I don't see how that makes his character better with what we saw. Continuing exterminations seem quite likely because that angel that ripped her own arm off will be pissed - and there's a reason Sarah okayed the exterminations in the first place. One redeemed soul still leaves millions of sinners who may one day rise up against heaven.
