Wait you're telling me that corporations use popular art styles?! What the frick why could they be doing this. It's not like you get some kind of monetary award for chasing trends, or that there's a bunch of artists out there who can produce work fast. This is truly a mystery for the ages.
>Less classically trained artists because school is too expensive >Good art doesn’t pay enough to keep the lights on
Which means the only people who get into the industry are autistic morons who are ok with living off peanuts with their poorly made drawings. Anyone with enough intellect to produce anything good are just working at a bank or something doing spreadsheet work.
>It’s all because muh capitalism
No, it’s because western countries imported millions of immigrants and drove the cost of living up for everyone whilst driving down wages.
tumblr gays are more prone to acts of nepotism and the only way to get into the comics industry is through nepotism. >self hating homosexual working at marvel sees "popular" tumblr c**t >sees she's looking for work >gets her an interview >HR has a diversity quota to fill >marketing department loves running headlines about getting "queer" and diverse "talent" at the company >tumblr c**t now gets her obnoxious friends jobs that they also don't deserve >repeat
real talk anon, how old are you?
Tumblr has been irrelevant for like 7 years now. The tumblr comics thing(like your example) is like 8+ years old.
I pick a random comic from the last week off Getcomics and it's just gonna be this bland realistic style most of the time.
No, they're not, you've just been feed out of context panels to rage about, you don't actually read any comics. Tumblr isn't culturally relevant, and you're still stuck in 2015 if you think that it is.
Honestly, that page is pretty cool. Narration boxes are pretty wordy, but the action is cleanly told and you can tell what's happening. Not saying you're not right about OP being a whiny little b***h, but I'd like to think that's just you and me finding a middle ground here.
That's hardly the tumblr artstyle from 2011 Cinemaphile complains about. That's just the art sensibility of people under 30. Do you people really expect artists under 40 to draw like Jim Lee's ass?
>Some guy
This is really my strongest nitpick here. "Some guy" on an anonymous board could be anyone, their art being thought as better doesn't do anything to cheapen the original. If he's among like-minded people they'll prefer his drawing too. Not to mention some guy is only doing one squirrel girl and not a whole comic or series of comics. Even preferring the right image this is a stupid comparison.
Those are B-series nobody reads so it's a good thing they give no-name artists a chance at them, but I'm starting to think comic book wages are just so shit anyone who'd be good enough to carry Squirrel Girl already has better options than slaving away at Marvel for 100$ a page, no residuals, moronic deadlines, and half the internet calling them a troony.
Hot ≠ good art/character design and both are shit because one is flat out poorly drawn and the other looks meh, Making her look like a moron can work with a skilled artist and the right context
>What’s with this trend of the West only hiring tumblr artists to produce art?
They are cheap, plentiful and easily disposed of.
Bonus, they aren't horny and problematic like latAM and SEA artists.
Neither of these are good.
Right is significantly better because it isn't intentionally ugly.

Yeah, it's a legitimate wonder why they vastly overestimated the popularity of tumblr and its culture.
>popular art styles
Inflation and rising COL means:
>Less classically trained artists because school is too expensive
>Good art doesn’t pay enough to keep the lights on
Which means the only people who get into the industry are autistic morons who are ok with living off peanuts with their poorly made drawings. Anyone with enough intellect to produce anything good are just working at a bank or something doing spreadsheet work.

vote democrat.
>Vote for the very people who created the problem due to shortsightedness and demands you to give more of your hard earned goybux to the zog
No. If the West took a Libertarian stance to everything, we’d be better off.
>it's not capitalism, it's just capitalism
lol
>October 28th at 5:31 PM
Count your days
There's good artists on Tumblr though better question why they hire bad ones?
Like watch I'll do this ''DC art'' on tumblr and let's see what we get.
Most this stuff fine, some are bad.
LMFAO
>Supermanuel
All the good artists draw porn these days.
tumblr gays are more prone to acts of nepotism and the only way to get into the comics industry is through nepotism.

But people that draw in that style are still around, you raging homosexual.
cool, show me them on a major book then.

they are on webtoon

Christ, if this is what the western webtoons look like then no wonder they get bodied by their Korean counterparts.

>That's just the art sensibility of people under 30.
White people under 30.*
Well, it's nowhere near as prevalent as OP sucking dick, but that's a constant event that is always happening.
Oh that's not a drawing error.
She's a downie in that comic series.
Prove me wrong.
What's the difference between this and people losing their minds over that J. Scott Campbell Mary Jane cover?

when ugly people stop drawing

Its been 10 years, anon.
Women and cronyism
Makes me miss the house style of comics from yesteryear.
Some artists can make their own style awesome, others, well this.
>this is from the same industry. Sa.e publisher even.
Well yes anon. Publishers have books with different styles of writing. Publishers that publish children's books also publish books for adults.
>Alex Ross
Just because it looks like an oil painting and tries to be 2deep4u doesn't make it adukt.
Why are you posting shit from almost a decade ago?
Hot ≠ good art/character design and both are shit because one is flat out poorly drawn and the other looks meh, Making her look like a moron can work with a skilled artist and the right context
Son what in the FRICK is that gif?
ahem,
I said
SON
WHAT THE FRICK
IS THAT GIF?
Don't go posting my wife like that.
>WTF MARVEL!? Where is Mike Zeck andJohn Buscema!? WTF is this comic strip garbage?
>What’s with this trend of the West only hiring tumblr artists to produce art?
They are cheap, plentiful and easily disposed of.

They're cheap
Here's another take I liked.
Could I make it at Marvel Comics?
with a very, very good inker, speed, and some previous published work on your belt? Eh, who knows. Marvel comics acts in strange ways
that's a weird way to punch
Inking? Sure. Actually drawing things? I sure hope not. Those poses wouldn't come up in the combination at any point in any fight.
Because Tumblr is willing to work for below-minimum-wage labor. Simple as that.
