What's your answer when someone IRL asks what is your favourite movie?

What's your answer when someone IRL asks what is your favourite movie? You want to sound cool and esoteric but can't get too pretentious or they'll just laugh at you.

Lord of the Rings is always a safe pick if you're just trying to make small talk. >oh really, which of the three is your favorite? >shame about the hobbit movies, right? >man, can you imagine if they tried to make the silmarillion? >rings of power sure sucked, huh?
I tell them my favorite movie is the episode of star trek the next generation titled "the Nth degree" where Barkley (who i relate to) becomes a super smart chad (what i want to be)
how would I relate to riker unless his pants kept falling off the bridge and it was revealed he has no penis? just as an example of being embarrassed and no having sex with ro and troi and Beverly isn't embarassing i relate to picard the cuck more ;_;
to elaborate, if they claim I cant pick that because its a tv show not a movie I get into a pedantic argument where i purposefully confuse movies with literally anything filmed and I'm a big guy and get really angry so most people drop it

There are enough people who refer to movies as shows, and static newspaper comics as "cartoons" (which implies animation), so it works.
I made the mistake of telling my feminist millennial date that I was a big fan of Fight Club and that my bro and I planned on making a short film inspired by it.
She called the waitress a c**t (unrelated) so I probably dodged a bullet anyhow.
>the one you like the most?
I don't know what that even means. If its based on primal 'enjoyment' it will be dumb comedies I watched with friends that I probably would hate today. If its based on emotional impact, it will be films I watched at a vulnerable time in my life that I may cringe at today. If its films I consider objectively the best, it will be avant garde pseud shit that gets me laughed at. There are many possible answers.
Don't box yourself into thinking that you have to pick an all-time favorite. When people ask me what my favorite something is, I say "right now I really like ___ and ___" and that's usually a better way to keep a conversation flowing
Just say whatever the last trailer you saw in theaters is your favorite movie.
If you can't think of any, just say Fast and Furious (whatever the newest one is.)
If they ask too many probing questions you don't know the answer to, since you didn't watch it, just be like "idk. I don't really remember. Why are you sperging out on me?"
Lord of the Rings because I can't really think of anything else right now. Even if they gave me 5 minutes, I'd probably have to go through a list to remember. I live frictionlessly and make very few memories nowadays.
Birth of a Nation
I don’t have a favourite anything
Apocalypse Now
Rapeman 4
You just pick the one you like for sentimental reasons. I say Rushmore.
Filmed at my high-school
Groundhog day
My man. I too use this logic to simplify an otherwise complicated question, and Rushmore is also my go-to for that reason.
I usually say Braveheart, it's in my top 10 and the most recognizable film on that list, it's also manly

Yeah, totally safe to tell other adults that your favorite film is a children's fantasy movie, they definitely won't judge you at all.
Hi, 2005 called. It would like its bigotry back, jerk.

I forgot to say that TNG actually has a Chad, and his name is Riker. That's who your role model should be, and not Barclay.

rocky horror, nothing else even remotely as rewatchable
gross
It's easy. Just pick the best movie ever made.
Pic related.

in the episode he charms troi does really well in the play and does a few other chad things but he doesn't become a permanent chad no
Pulp Fiction

I'll explain it to you then: The movie you think about the most. That makes it easy, no?
>think the most about
Ok this is my favorite movie.
What an absolute disgusting PIG. The profile is repulsive.
DISGUSTING PIG
I just say Mean Girls.
Told some cute airhead at the bar my favorite movie is Snatch, she thought I was talking about porno and avoided me afterwards.
the only choice
but my serious favorite of all time is stalker, but it’s too esoteric, especially when no one knows theology

any marvel movies, if they ask any specific, just say end game
Saying a Sarah Gadon movie is always a respectable answer. Sarah Gadon is the greatest actress and a patrician beauty.
