>How many people do you think got introduced to American Psycho because it was posted on Cinemaphile so many times?
That's not the same, you have discussions on Cinemaphile.
I hated Sonatine. I hated every fricking minute of it. The only reaason pseuds think its impressive is because they never watched another japanese film in their life. That muddled rambling pointless 4 act ki do ai le slice of life shit is in every other japanese movie and this one didn't do it particularly well or add anything. The motivations of the characters are practically non existent with the exception of the enemy yakuza you barely even get to see. If you want a real slice of life flick watch Air Doll. At least that had some emotion to it. Frick Sonatine and frick Beat Takeshi.
They're the opposite of reddit. They're totally sincere and clearly not motivated by any self-absorbed arthouse homosexualry despite your assumption that they are. A reddit film could never have such an instinctive sense for visual energy and entertainment. Reddit is lukewarm, opposed to high-energy.
Sonatine
A Scene at the Sea
Violent Cop
Fireworks is his flagship movie but I always thought it was overrated and a retread of his earlier films.
Boiling Point is underrated and hilarious.
It's either Hana-bi or Sonatine. It's hard to choose.
His version of Zatoichi and "getting any" are some of the worst things i've ever seen.
>A Scene at the Sea
Ah yeah it's really fricking good.
His Zatoichi might be the worst piece of shit I have ever seen. He clearly didn't understand the character, his motivations, why people like him, and adding troony shit to the movie made me want to puke. And the 5 minute hip hop dance shit at the end made me turn the movie off. I would say it's the first 1/10 movie I have ever seen.
>These waste of oxygen posts among us
See about "onnagata" you dumb zoomer, then have a nice day and never post on this board again.
Fricking Black person zoomers...
I tried to watch Hana-Bi but the dialogue bothered me too much. I think it might just be the subtitles, it felt so awkwardly translated instead of natural. Is that just how the movie is or should I look for better subs? I only tried the English subs so far but that's not the only panguage I know.
it is just very relaxing, and everything about it reminds me of being a kid going down to the beach to either just sit, or to hang out with friends, that I no longer have. Reminds me of a better time.
The music is fantastic too, really does fit a movie focusing so heavily on the beach.

Shigeru's death was upsetting the first time I watched it, but I think the final montage showing all the memories the characters made was really sweet, and does make me happy ultimately. Can't say I quite understand the turning into a fish aspect.
one of my favourite films of all the movies I've seen too.
Kids Return
it kind of reminded me of my own high school, where the 'genius' kid wound up doing nothing much at all and pretty much everyone else was aimless and never really branched out
It was refreshing, even if it was pretty depressing. Most films about the high school experience have the clown actually be really good at writing or something which takes them to Harvard. This had a bunch of graduates slip into petty crime, alcoholism and wage slavery
He is too old. His body and brain were already fricked up after his drunk motorbike accident, it's a fricking miracle that he is still alive and without dementia or some shit
Well Cinemaphile? Are you?
okama-desu
well you must be then since i hear homos get a lot of action. can you confirm?
this
it proved to me that japanese people are actually capable of being funny.
Kikujiro is very good too.
Don't you get tired of spamming this same shit every fricking day
The one where he is a tap dancing ninja.
A Scene at the Sea
Reject gangster/corrupt cop Takeshi
Embrace surf kino
>A Scene at the Sea
kino soundtrack

never been more emotional at the end of a movie
crykino
Kikujiro.
>mfw that scene when they see the mother
Sad that no one else has seen it.
Kikujiro is great
And plenty of people have seen it since music from it was popular on ytmnd back in the day
People actually watched movies based on ytmd?
Of course
How many people do you think got introduced to American Psycho because it was posted on Cinemaphile so many times?

I'm borrowing it from a friend right now
You better be.

Imagine being unmoved by Sonatine. It's a perfect mood-piece.
It's vapor. Paint on a canvas that isn't there.
Sounds like you're overly rational and need to appreciate art more.
I appreciate art, I just hate this homosexual's movies. They remind me of Murakami, and reddit.

I bet you hated Licorice Pizza
the name alone made me not watch it.

sometimes the part is indicative of the whole..

I quite enjoyed his version of Zatoichi. They used to play it on the movie channels all the time.
はなび D U H
Sonatine and Violent Cop were great, Hana-bi is good but also overrated oscar bait
Sonatine
A Scene at the Sea
Violent Cop
Fireworks is his flagship movie but I always thought it was overrated and a retread of his earlier films.
Boiling Point is underrated and hilarious.
Boiling Point has one of the best scenes in Kitano films, the karaoke bar
based
Kids Return is an underrated one too
Pleb opinion. Violent Cop was undercooked and he was clearly still finding his footing, Hana-Bi is clearly superior.
Holy fricking yen based blue justice
The /asp/ and Cinemaphile connection
Kikujiro, obviously
Takeshi's Castle: The Movie (1991)
Zatoichi
Frick you.
His Zatoichi might be the worst piece of shit I have ever seen. frick off, zoomer
Shut up, troony.

The one where David Bowie eats flowers.
I wish I could quote this scene without people thinking I'm quoting the title.
Sonatine but Outrage is really good also
>a scene at the sea
What did I think of it? Did I get it?
You thought it was perfect
You thought it was kino and listened to Silent Love on repeat after finishing the movie.
I tried to watch Hana-Bi but the dialogue bothered me too much. I think it might just be the subtitles, it felt so awkwardly translated instead of natural. Is that just how the movie is or should I look for better subs? I only tried the English subs so far but that's not the only panguage I know.
That one about his castle
Battle Royale With Cheese
Johnny Mnemonic
>the beach sumo scene in Sonatine
Joe Hisaishi is a master.
The one where everyone falls in love with a femboy
>no mention of Kids Return
get it together lads eh ffs
kwab
guess I should have refreshed
for me it is definitely scene at the sea.

Ghost in the shell with Scarlett johanson
>elevates your kino
Ghost in the Shell
Sonatine>Kids Return=Hana Bi>Takeshi’s>A scene at the sea>kikurjiro>boiling point>violent cop movies
>characters you are slowly becoming
Sonatine followed by boiling point
>Takeshi Castle reboot
>be excited
>motherfricker is only in two episodes, barely talks and clearly doesn't want to be there
He is too old. His body and brain were already fricked up after his drunk motorbike accident, it's a fricking miracle that he is still alive and without dementia or some shit
But he still made great movies after the accident.
That explains why he couldn't move half his face.
I thought he had a stroke or something
um how is this thread supposed to help us in spreading our reactionary propaganda? delete the thread and make another Marvels bombing thread
Who is the sexiest Kitano girl?
Monka
I think Takeshi Kitano is the most soulful person alive.
