You think there's just a random guy in the Spider Society that has no powers or web cartridges at all and is just an actor that plays Spider-Man in movies, but he has common sense instead of spider sense?
Haven't seen the movie but the style fits him pretty well I'd say.
I love how people here always complain about how black people are always connected to hip hop, yet whenever they are connected with rock or punk, you morons sperg out immediately. Fricking hypocrite low-lives
>I love how people here always complain about how black people are always connected to hip hop, yet whenever they are connected with rock or punk, you morons sperg out immediately. Fricking hypocrite low-lives
Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time. Stay mad about it.
what? African americans dont know where they came from due to the slave trade so they have more unity. In the uk africans who had beef with other africans will still have that same beef when they move over to the uk, you see this with kenyan or somalian etc. But africans who move to uk and are fine with each other while acknowledging their difference are cool with each other, this affects differently with different generation but the diasporia still exist it's just who you are that depends on how strong the divide can be
Please point to the black male sterotype with piercings, choker and general punk rocker aesthetic with big hair like that, I would love some examples anon
I'm not talking about his fashion you absolute moron. I'm talking about his generic ass face. Look at this concept art and tell me why they made him uglier.
>Hey look at this neat concept art of hobbie! >Nah make him with bigger lips, wider nose, and make his eyes more apart. Also get rid of the dreads make the top of his head look like a palm tree
They didn't just make him uglier, they made him more of a Tumblr style racist caricature. I think it's the lips specifically. They're too big and make the lower face too.... Sambo-y.
The concept looks better and more realistic. Like an actual black man.
>Hey look at this neat concept art of hobbie! >Nah make him with bigger lips, wider nose, and make his eyes more apart. Also get rid of the dreads make the top of his head look like a palm tree
Bruh these look way better. Ngl when they changed him to look more like we have now they were def racially motivated.
Holy fricking shit this design is fricking amazing. I get why they scrapped it since it looks less punk and more tribal warrior but it just looks so much more aesthetically pleasing
In comparison to LGBTQI+ figures, which comprise 3% of the UK, 1.5% if excluding B, 0.2% if excluding LGB, you'd almost be able to argue that an LGBT Spidey would be almost as representative as a black Spidey for the UK, and that it would reach more demographics as LGBT isn't just for blacks despite the recent invention of progress pride or whatever it's called
Muslim Asian is almost as numerous as the entirety of the Black population, however Pakistani Asian is more numerous than African, which never plays nicely with African expats such as Carib, American or otherwise, similarly to how Indian-Pakistani relations are not great nor are Indian caste relations
But regardless of all of that, I'd rather it if there was no British Spidey in Marvel because Marvel writes foreign cultures about as well as it writes gay people, the only difference being neon haired queers like their depictions in Marvel or at least are told to
Exactly, besides most holloywood executives are israeli. If muslims want to look cool in media they have to create the art themselves. Hollywood and even westeners in general will never consider them voluntarily.
Pssst! What people here really want is for black people to stop existing.
>be massively overrepresented in media >overrepresentation is due to diversity policies > "Hey when do the other minorities get their turn?" > "share the spotlight? You mean black GENOCIDE, don't you?"
There's not a lot to draw from without entering blasphemy territory. Like you can't make a superhero based on Muhammad(pbuh) because you'll piss of non Muslims for depicting a pedo favorably and Muslims for depicting the prophet in a visual medium.
I mean it's fair when it's created by whites. I don't care when media created by asians represents asians. But if you're spewing diversity maybe try casting more than just black people.
How do you know black people aren't more common in his version of London? Indian spiderman lived in a city filled with Indians despite it being half New York City.
Hey, that's just like, your opinion, man. You can always make your own story about a pajeet punk in the UK if you think it would be an improvement. Be the change.
And theres millions of white spidermen whats your point

My point being is I don't want a million black spidermans, I want more diverse casting, and being diverse isn't just black people

>four black Spiders is one million >the Asian Spider-Woman doesn't count >the Indian Spider-Man doesn't count >the car Spider-Man doesn't count >the animal Spider-Men don't count
Really cool and striking design artistically but I have to laugh whenever white girls on Instagram call him handsome or dreamy.
Didn't like him at first because of some of the smarmy "heh... kill fascists" lines in his opener (not a fascist btw) and because I saw him as getting in the way of my boy Miles getting with Gwen. I still don't really know what Gwen saw in him, seeing as her dad is a cop and, despite her Spidey vigilantism and free-spirit, clearly isn't nearly as radical or anarchistic as Hobie. No matter what daddy issues you have, if you still love your cop dad on some level, it seems insane to fall in love with a cop killer.
Regardless, gradually as the movie when I on I began to like him more. I especially grew to respect him when he stuck to what he thought was right and quit the Spider-Society to protest Miles's unfair treatment, showing that his anti-authoritarian attitude isn't just for show or for when it benefits him. Also when he helped out Miles and Gwen after that with the portal-bracelet devices. He really is a real, genuine guy you can count on, that façade I thought he was putting up being really not a façade at all.
Dislike him. Nevermind his looks, he strikes me as too much of a writer's pet. Presumably he's the closest representation of what the writers consider the correct political beliefs and just so happens to get fellated by everyone who meets him safe for the villain (Miguel). Miles straight up swoons over him when he merely takes off his mask. He gets to stand out from all the other Spider-Men by being the one who first and most decisively defects from Miguel's machinations - even though there hundreds or thousands of Peters who should find it just as disagreeable that Spider-Man is ordered to sit idly by to let a supposedly "fated" tragedy play out. And he gets to be the deus ex machina who saves the day by providing a renegade dimension hopping bracelet. The favoritism could barely be any more on the nose without making him the main character.
Every single black spidey is a writer's pet. The way they portrayed gwen wanting to be adopted by the pregnant lady oozes it. Who the frick respects a mother putting their unborn child in danger, unless you want it deformed or killed from all the movement she's been doing.
This is one the most overtly political mainstream animated films I’ve seen, enough that it actually annoyed me on my first watch.
Now I can enjoy it’s merits, but it’s propaganda was really grating to witness
>What’s your first impression of him?
"Why is everything that represents England nonwhite?"
Biggest white empire on earth and yet everything with "UK" in its name is African or Arab
Don't get me wrong, I'm French so I still hate the English, but still
>Every mention of Gwen staying at his place or hanging out with him
It's so over for Miles. >the toothbrush thing
FRICK it's so over for Miles. Give it up man >British slang and accent +messed up theatre audio making him incomprehensible
well at least he looks cool >saves Miles
Okay he's actually pretty based >makes a watch for Gwen and shows no romantic attraction towards her
I kneel
Imagine the pure kino of a white ginger Irish man with a strong accent beating up a couple of villians and then throwing in a couple of "Allah Akbar" after remembering he's saudi now
I'm a contrarian so when the movie constantly tells me "Wow this character is so cool isn't he cool even the protagonist thinks he's cool" I just end up not liking them.
okay i havent read much of the classic but from some of the college issue isnt he kind of like an exaggerated cooler version of randy robertson, talking about "the system" etc.
>Black person.
Then >They will have the cuckoldry shit where Miles thinks that Gwen fricked with him when they actually didn't
Finally >I can't understand half the shit this Black person is saying, but he's pretty cool.
His origin makes no sense >supposed to be a crime-fighting hero >fights against all cops and authority figures
What does he do with his criminals then? Can’t throw them in jail if you refuse to work with cops. Does he just kill them?
He lives in a universe where the police and government are extremally corrupt, hes a freedom fighter basically.
Why does he have to come from an alternate universe, then? Wouldn’t that imply that police aren’t corrupt in the normal timeline? Why couldn't him and Spider-Sir just be international Spider-men from Mile’s universe?
The ugliest design in the movie, honestly, one of the ugliest character designs I've ever seen in any movie. I really don't understand some of the choices they made regarding his facial proportions.
>Girl you had a thing with reappears suddenly and it's being flirty >Try to pursue her >She introduces you to some guy she's obviously also fricking around with and expects you to be friends
Many such cases.
Great concept lackluster execution.
I also think he should've had a colorscheme closer to Miguel's since he's supposed to be the 'anti' Miguel. Like make him mostly blue but with the union jack iconography of his original costume. You can still keep the punk elements of the design intact.
Bobby British, fine guy, person who goes to the local pub.
Irritating to look at but otherwise pretty cool.
Him? I thought this was the bug eyed lady from all the video games
Criminal, gay, tryhard
Black person
He's the only person in the Spider-Society with any common sense.
You think there's just a random guy in the Spider Society that has no powers or web cartridges at all and is just an actor that plays Spider-Man in movies, but he has common sense instead of spider sense?
Fits the UK punk aesthetic really well.
He's pretty gay.
>looks like a troony
>british Spider-Man is black lol
>lines sound like they were written by a blue haired chick
Haven't seen the movie but the style fits him pretty well I'd say.
I love how people here always complain about how black people are always connected to hip hop, yet whenever they are connected with rock or punk, you morons sperg out immediately. Fricking hypocrite low-lives
I support you sister
>I love how people here always complain about how black people are always connected to hip hop, yet whenever they are connected with rock or punk, you morons sperg out immediately. Fricking hypocrite low-lives
Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time. Stay mad about it.
Would Spider-Man's quips affect his villains the same way if he called them homosexuals?
Pssst! What people here really want is for black people to stop existing.
>british Spider-Man is black lol
? There is a sizeable black diaspora in the UK, it's not like if he was a black croatian or something.
>diaspora
Doesn't a diaspora necessitate involuntary dispersal, not emigration?
what? African americans dont know where they came from due to the slave trade so they have more unity. UNF, those dick sucking lips!
His gigantic lips and poop hair disgust me. His accent is cool.
Very audible disgust
Wonder why they hid his face for a while only to reveal it anyways
He was rebelling against the standard introduction.
His original design was 100x better, now he just looks like a racial stereotype with a british accent. I like him better masked, he's fricking ugly
Please point to the black male sterotype with piercings, choker and general punk rocker aesthetic with big hair like that, I would love some examples anon

He looked way cooler in the concept art what happened

>I think my video might be lagging
without his mask
>Why does he have purple lipstick on? And when will the video stop lagging?
Zesty
His accent was so thick I needed subtitles.
Thought he was going to be an obnoxious prick, but he was pretty wise and was genuinely a pretty and was fun watching
He looks inbred
So does your mother, what's the big deal?
looks like a homosexual grandma
I think the more edgy redesing works better for him, than the boring desing he was introduced with in the comics.
>This guy is going to be a twat
I can't look at this comic without thinking of the edit
what edit?
>him
Needs to wash his hair.
Shampoo is a shackle made by the corporations to hold us down, mate.
>Wait, that's a him?
Why did they choose another black to represent a minority brit? Arab punk spidey would've been better.
>minority
What's the percentage of native brit to black immigrants anon please tell me
74.4% Britons
9.3% Asian (3.1% Indian, 2.7% Pakistani, 1.1% Bangladeshi)
4.0% Black (2.5% African, 1.0% Carib)
2.9% Mixed
0.9% Irish
6.2% "Other white"
In comparison to LGBTQI+ figures, which comprise 3% of the UK, 1.5% if excluding B, 0.2% if excluding LGB, you'd almost be able to argue that an LGBT Spidey would be almost as representative as a black Spidey for the UK, and that it would reach more demographics as LGBT isn't just for blacks despite the recent invention of progress pride or whatever it's called

Muslims are under no condition allowed to be portrayed in a cool mainstream manner.
With all the anti LGBT shit, Hollywood would never paint them as such
Exactly, besides most holloywood executives are israeli. If muslims want to look cool in media they have to create the art themselves. Hollywood and even westeners in general will never consider them voluntarily.
>be massively overrepresented in media
>overrepresentation is due to diversity policies

Because he's black in the comics moron
And? Blacks are the most overrepresented minority in media, again why did they choose another black to represent a british minority and not a arab
Whites are the most overrepresented minority in media, anon.
I mean it's fair when it's created by whites. I don't care when media created by asians represents asians. But if you're spewing diversity maybe try casting more than just black people.
Theirs literally a black pregnant spider women stfu about being canon in comics since they clearly don't give a shit about it
How do you know black people aren't more common in his version of London? Indian spiderman lived in a city filled with Indians despite it being half New York City.
Because theirs more arabs in th uk than their is blacks
But its not our UK its a different universe
another universe where there's ANOTHER Black spidey wow so fricking original.
Hey, that's just like, your opinion, man. You can always make your own story about a pajeet punk in the UK if you think it would be an improvement. Be the change.
And theres millions of white spidermen whats your point
My point being is I don't want a million black spidermans, I want more diverse casting, and being diverse isn't just black people

>the car Spider-Man doesn't count
>the animal Spider-Men don't count
Now compare the importance of their roles
Pakistanis aren't Arabs. They're basically low-caste Indians.
He's black in the comics. Also Spider-UK exists.
A far less interesting take on British "counter-culture" music. Should have made him two-tone, not punk.
2tone was too unifying and affirming. It had to go.
Really cool and striking design artistically but I have to laugh whenever white girls on Instagram call him handsome or dreamy.

Being antifascist isn't political, it's just common sense
pretty cool guy
though I kinda wish they had gone with his concept design
Seeing the designs they had I'm surprised I liked them all. Usually there's one stinker in production but all of them felt appropriately cool.
He looks kinda cool
For me it's the hair and his idgaf eyes
t. femanon
great communicative design, immediately knew he was uk punk looking at him, nice wicks
First impression was "ah shit they're making this a love triangle aren't they" but he ended up being based as frick
there were articles pushing love triangle rumors for some reason too. glad that didn't pan out
Gwen left her clothes and toothbrush at Hobbs house. In my head they definitely fricked.
>What’s your first impression of him?
"Why is everything that represents England nonwhite?"
Biggest white empire on earth and yet everything with "UK" in its name is African or Arab
Don't get me wrong, I'm French so I still hate the English, but still
Would make more since if a spiderman from France was black.
*sense

I kneel
troony chasing, twitter using, bull
very cool, but its another thing where a thing where a white country's person is not a native.
Non whites should be american, EU should have native Europeans simple as.
Imagine Saudi Arabia being represented by someone from their expat community lol. Logan O'Brian or something like that.
Said Arabia will never be represented in a positive light and you know why. Honestly Hollywood would probably do just that unironically lmao
Imagine the pure kino of a white ginger Irish man with a strong accent beating up a couple of villians and then throwing in a couple of "Allah Akbar" after remembering he's saudi now
understood why Boomers call punks gay
Pic related. I also thought he looked kinda like a butch woman with the mask off. He seems like a pretty cool guy, though.
One of the coolest frickin designs I've ever seen in an animated movie
So this British bastard was smashing Gwen and miles was trying to kiss her cumstained lips after
He truly has the exaggerated swagger of a black teen
I'm a contrarian so when the movie constantly tells me "Wow this character is so cool isn't he cool even the protagonist thinks he's cool" I just end up not liking them.
why does he have islander black eyes?
did black islanders go to the UK?
okay i havent read much of the classic but from some of the college issue isnt he kind of like an exaggerated cooler version of randy robertson, talking about "the system" etc.
That he looks like he's in his 40s and it's weird he's so close to a teenager
How old is hobbie supposed to be?
>Black person.
Then
>They will have the cuckoldry shit where Miles thinks that Gwen fricked with him when they actually didn't
Finally
>I can't understand half the shit this Black person is saying, but he's pretty cool.
Stupid hair
Ugly
Never had a real job
I genuinely thought that was a woman.
Pretty aight
Better version of Miles in his own fricking movie if you boil it down to "Black Spider-Man" which everyone, including Marvel, does
Prefer Indian Spidey, even in spite of his sperging about chai.
His origin makes no sense
>supposed to be a crime-fighting hero
>fights against all cops and authority figures
What does he do with his criminals then? Can’t throw them in jail if you refuse to work with cops. Does he just kill them?
HIs universe the corpos and police are on the side of evil.
>wink
Why does he have to come from an alternate universe, then? Wouldn’t that imply that police aren’t corrupt in the normal timeline? Why couldn't him and Spider-Sir just be international Spider-men from Mile’s universe?
>Why couldn't him and Spider-Sir just be international Spider-men from Mile’s universe?
Because that would be a completely different movie
He lives in a universe where the police and government are extremally corrupt, hes a freedom fighter basically.
>"Ha, ha. Miles got cucked."
More like Miles got fricked
The ugliest design in the movie, honestly, one of the ugliest character designs I've ever seen in any movie. I really don't understand some of the choices they made regarding his facial proportions.
>Girl you had a thing with reappears suddenly and it's being flirty
>Try to pursue her
>She introduces you to some guy she's obviously also fricking around with and expects you to be friends
Many such cases.
in his universe King Pin is prime minster is an average sized british person
I was shocked when I watched the movie and he had less than 10 minutes screen time.
People here have lost their minds.
Peni had dedicated threads when she had only 3 seconds of screentime, at least he spoke more than twice
Penny had 13 seconds of screentime and people post about her more than Gwen
I liked how supportive and friendly he ended up being. Very good representation of punks hating authority.
Great concept lackluster execution.
I also think he should've had a colorscheme closer to Miguel's since he's supposed to be the 'anti' Miguel. Like make him mostly blue but with the union jack iconography of his original costume. You can still keep the punk elements of the design intact.
Antifa pansexual, was probably molested at a young age, no strong male role model in his life
Paramore fan
