I oversaw a business during night hours downtown in a major metropolitan city. A significant %age of the homeless people I had to deal with were under the age of 24. They were mostly junkies.
I'll add that younger people on the path to homelessness are usually in halfway houses, because they've been convicted for various offenses and are being given a shot by the system to reform, and aren't technically classified as homeless. Lump those homosexuals in and the percentage likely goes up even more.

There's a TON of ways you can make money to feed your addiction that wouldn't even cross your mind. I'll list just a few:
>Panhandling. You can do it "classic style" and just hang out a busy intersection or gas station and ask for spare change....it's crucial that you use the word "change" and not dollar for some reason, even though they'll give you a dollar regardless. And just this method alone can actually yield you some big time $$. When I used to do it I'd get $1 for every 3 people I asked, guaranteed. Throw in a pair of crutches or a wheelchair and you can easily double that.

I oversaw a business during night hours downtown in a major metropolitan city. A significant %age of the homeless people I had to deal with were under the age of 24. They were mostly junkies.
I'll add that younger people on the path to homelessness are usually in halfway houses, because they've been convicted for various offenses and are being given a shot by the system to reform, and aren't technically classified as homeless. There's a TON of ways you can make money to feed your addiction that wouldn't even cross your mind. I'll list just a few:
