A writer (at Forbes I think) speculated that many of those views were straight up hate-watching or journalists who had to watch it so they could write about it. I'm fricking mad that they tied up a billion dollars into this dumpster fire and it's going to affect all other original shows on Prime, but they cancelled The Peripheral, which was amazing.

I read the books 100x since they first came out (and I read them as they came out!) and I LOVE the show. Especially Season 2 it's so much better than Season 1 which I admit wasn't that great but Season 2 improved so much that even if you hated Season 1 you should watch Season 2 because Season 1 is so much better than Season 1 I cannot stress this enough watch Season 2 give it a chance.

We're already there. There's no time to make it all culminate naturally. The next episode is the last, and they didn't do enough ground work to set up the horn. The Audience doesn't know what the horn is supposed to do. The audience doesn't know anything about prophesies regarding the horn. No characters are talking about the last battle.
What they set up is this: The Forsaken want to announce Rand as the Dragon, before smiting him in front of everyone in Falme. Ishamael is waking up past lives in Mat by making him drink that dosed tea.
What I predict will happen: Mat will blow the horn, and old heroes will appear, but framed in such a way that they're actually all past lives of Mat. I don't know how that makes sense. Because why would Ishamael set Mat up to do that? Perhaps he believes he can destroy all of those past lives for greater glory or something? I don't know. But connecting Mat to the horn in that way, is the only thing that makes sense to me.
The most insane thing about this show...is how there isnt enough explanation of the world and lore. You have to be a book reader to have any kind of idea what is actually happening. But then if you are a book reader, they are making so many changes it completely breaks the story. So the show is makes no sense to non-book reader, which makes one wonder why they bothered to make it.
I watched season 1 as a showgay but I had the benefit of having a bookgay coworker to explain the shit they were skipping/leaving out. It was the only way I understood what was going on then. I didn't start season 2, I even have Prime, I want this show to get canceled. I wouldn't even pirate it.

that's because each character was doing something interesting, going to a new place, or had an engaging conflict that needed to be resolved. Jon going to the Wall and becoming part of the Night's Watch, Ned dealing with royal politics and finding out why Jon Arryn was murdered, Cat suspecting her son was pushed from the tower and pursuing leads behind his attempted assassination, Tyrion being falsely accused and using his wits and luck to escape death, etc. It was all engaging to watch.
