>when a film commits suicide

And more's the pity because except by the disgustingly heavy-handed feminism of the third part, the film is actually pretty kino

    >Rashomon effect but we'll tell you exactly who is 100% right and telling the truth.
The more movies Ridley Scott makes the more I'm convinced that the few great movies he made were the results of pure chance rather than film making skill. The man is an idiot.

That the woman was a noble victim surrounded by evil men. It's an odd choice because the Rashamon model is about subjectivity and how our own perception of reality tends to be self centered, but then the woman is made out to be an objective observer with no biases.

Exactly, the woman is an honest noble victim and the men are egotistical liars and brutes. It hits you over the head with its feminism

Yeah it's definitely an accident. His whole career has been up and down and its no wonder it took 5 cuts of Blade Runner to get a good film out of it.

The fact that Scott openly declares that Deckard is a replicant completely disenchantes me with him. The central theme of the film is to explore the concept of what it is to be human and this decision completely negates that. You're right about the cuts to the movie, heck he even added Shining and Legend footage to the movie. Ridley has no idea what movie he wants until years later.

Ridley made a French folk hero into an ego centric person and thought the movie will sell.

Other than that it was kino.

P.S: Most people don't know this. Jean was getting really powerful in the court. So the insecure Valois got him and his commander killed.

we feel sorry for you, or we feel sorry that people like you exist
there are things to enjoy about the movie; some of the performances, casting, set design, costuming
the writing is abhorrent and is clearly and deliberately an attack on men, and uses its characters as puppets to serve that purpose
Le Gris has a particular line that is an egregious example of this
the hamfisted metaphor with the horses is so unbelievably on-the-nose that it would be viewed as beneath a first-year film student's work
as with most modern films it's also

Where do you get your confidence that you know a rape occurred? The case was notorious because it was purely hearsay. That's why the duel was even considered because it would at least conclude the case.

The same perspective thing is always dull, it's a bad choice to do it. Yhe major issue here is he didn't even do as much as that. In every retelling it's the same fricking story. I'm not even sure a medieval audience would discern a difference but for a modern audience it's just a rape shown 3 times. It's a mediocre 60 minute film stretched to 2 point whatever the frick hours.

Are any modern men ready to fight to the death for the honor of their woman? The answer is known. Why are you surprised that women treat you like crap? Because that's what you are.
