This. I always liked my niche shit and I dread the day some normal gay on twitter or instagram discovers it and makes it popular.

That's sad. I don't care what others think of what I like.

Look at what happened to Star Wars over the last decade and tell me that gatekeeping isn't necessary.

That's not the point of the scene moron. It's about how younger generations fail to realize that they themselves will grow old and "out-of touch" and be admonished by younger generations the same way they admonished the generations before them

      Anonymous

Same. On the flip side though it means you're always with it. I never bothered with myspace facebook twitter etc even though I'm old and tech savvy enough to have been one of the earliest adopters, but I'm also the most in tune and informed out of all the people I know with current trends, memes, subcultures etc.

I know exactly what normies are enjoying. I just have a disdain for most of it/am aware of superior things.

      Anonymous

Same. All the shit I enjoyed in my youth, and mostly still now, was always either semi-obscure or at least a decade out of date with what people my age were into and I felt insecure/autistic about it.

Now in my thirties I don't give a shit because the music, movies, and games I enjoyed were always old while the normalgays who always tried to be "with it" in their youth are no longer and have to deal with being out of touch because their then-current interests are themselves "old", whereas I've long come to terms feeling like that.

When I no longer ever knew what people were talking about when they discussed music, might have had just as much to do with going full weeb than getting older though

it's not the same though, "OLD THING GOOD, NEW THING BAD" isn't an ironclad rule, it only applies during the current times because we're in the stage of stagnation and decay of civilization

2016 is when everything became hard anti conservative propaganda
Lockheed start running pride parades, George Floyd is a national hero(?)
2011 is when America started rubbing it in and Obama helped tech companies develop into a shadow oligarchy of data collection enterprises
2007 the internet was just getting cool and nobody had genuinely "monopolised" any one aspect of the internet yet but google I suppose, if you could call it that

for me australia basically started getting shit in 2017, I know because I was hired for a job I had no experience in solely because I'm autistic and they thought I was just gay and weird and the whole influx of people at the time were the same kind of seemingly gay weirdos
and I thought, huh, why me, and one month in we start doing "ally" quizzes as part of our training, where they rewarded us with rainbow badges for our collars
      weird feel

i stopped using it since the algortihms favor conservatives now, give them the helm and they will lower the collective vibrations of the country, similar to when the germanic barbarians destroyed rome and caused a 1000 year dark age, they are envious an want attention but are like women in that they define themselves by the other, they are the negative space in a painting, remove the painting and you left with nothing.

Now the descendants of these barabarians are crying about the lost beauty of rome, i welcome the impending dark age and hope nothing less is given

You guys don't realize how easy it is to stay in-touch with "the youths" nowadays thanks to the Internet. I mean, that's kind of their thing, they're always online, so as long as you are too you'll enjoy similar things to them. Just don't talk to them, because that's creep shit.
