Like the exact moment? For me it was when they had Tommy marry the prostitute he mocked his little brother for wanting to marry in the first season.

is peaky blinders the name of their gang?
Yes. They also have razors sewn into their hats that they blind people with
>razors sewn into their hats that they blind people with
Wait a second...
the show has always been Boardwalk Empire for morons (not to say BE is exactly an intellectual show)
The thing that made me first hate the show was the constant slow motion shots of them walking as a group and smoking a cigarette while 1970s rock music plays in the background. Fricking stupid and seems like it was produced by Hispanic teenagers (who are the majority of the show's remaining audience at this point)
Im rewatching Boardwalk right now; it’s so much better than PB it’s absurd
Tommy Shelby's entire character is just "look cool and smoke"
Dreadful show that peaked in season 1.
I mean there is some character development for him but it hardly matters because he has fricking plot armor anyway.
Nah the show started declining once Sam Neill was killed. Tommy marrying Grace was lame and the White Russians were a squandered opportunity
Yeah there were a lot of corny decisions made for music and cinematography.
>1970s music
lmao its always arctic monkeys from their 2013 album which was literally tumblrs favorite album of that year
I hate this band so fricking much and they sound incredibly dated. It's so cringe when its played in the show.
ill admit I have a soft spot for arctic monkeys, but the show, like alex turner, just feels like its trying too hard to be "cool"
Season 1 was the only good one. Should have been a limited series...
That one also fricked up though... i realize Jimmy`s actor was problematic and all but it was plain to see that the whole point of the show was the generational conflict between him and Nucky. Show should have ended when they offed him.
I agree it certainly shouldn’t have gone to six seasons and now they’re making a movie
why
I have no idea it’s gonna be lame though
>now they’re making a movie
Fricking why?
>Fricking why?
Netflix that’s why. They cancel black mirror and Haunting of Hill House but Peaky Blinders needs six seasons and a movie.
I read that as the Haunting of Hank Hill and giggled
Kek
Bly Manor was shit but still frick Netflix for cancelling Archive 81
>frick Netflix for cancelling Archive 81
They canceled that too?!?
lol, lets not pretend that Haunting of Hill House was something to write home about and wasn't something other than a mediocre gothic story absolutely ruined by its ending
Was it amazing? No. However it had a lot going for it and I enjoyed it mainly because there just aren’t that many shows made like it.
S2E1
IS THAT A FOOKIN' RACISM?
Kek yuropoors are so fricking stupid.
That’s honestly my main complaint they constantly try to shoehorn in stuff thats politically relevant today into that time period and it’s just dishonest.
Never really, it has been kino to this day.
It was in the 4th season when he suddenly wins by pulling out that he called AL Capone and now he controls all the guys and wins. The Mosley shot was even worse, oh no he doesn't like israelites and fricks ballerinas really aggressively.
That being said I like the new season so far. 2 eps in
Actually yeah that might be it holy shit and I forgot how atrocious Adrian Brody’s performance was in that.
>*spends the whole of season four LARPing as Vito Corleone*
Yeah I'm thinking it sucked
Why did they get a israelite to play an Italian mobster when there were just as many israeli mobsters?
>miss me yet, Cinemaphile?
Actually, yes. Show declined FAST when he was killed off. He was actually a good villain that genuinely intimidated Tommy.
He was a great character. Grace was meh but I liked her more than the man faced hooker Tommy ended up with. Johnboy was the most likable of the brothers and Michael doesn’t fit in the trio as well so yeah they goofed with choosing which characters to get rid of
I'd would have liked him to have a redemption arc where he tries to make amends for raping Polly to get back at Tommy, maybe by admitting he can't tell right from wrong and getting a sidekick/girlfriend that he uses as a moral compass
At they very least they could’ve had two solid seasons of them making plays against eachother ala Billions before it got stale. The show is weird in that it drags the wrong things out and wraps the better or more compelling parts up too quickly.
Billions best show on TV since 2016 the year it aired
It was originally but the introduction of pic rel made it go downhill fast.
What's that
A non binary character that dragged the show down
a non binary billionaire to make the show woke and unrealistic.
there is one transsexual billionaire and that is the closest thing.

Jesus Christ......
Billions should’ve stopped went Axe left (ironic because he left cuz his wife irl who played Polly on Peaky Blinders died) tbh both shows should’ve called it quits then.
Is S6 of Billions any good? I watched S5 up to the pause because of covid (first 7 ep) and Axe was still in there, had no idea he left at the end as I haven't watched the rest of S5.
I’m sorry but yea. Season 6 sucks they try to make Michael Prince new Axe and now Chucks only motivation is hating rich people despite being a rich trust fund baby himself it’s so bad and Wendy has virtually nothing to do now just some scenes of her reading in her office
Well shit that sucks. Chuck and Axe carried the show. I see it got renewed for S7 as well. Might give S6 a try and if its that bad time to drop.
Yeah I don’t hate it for background noise but the spirit of the show isn’t there anymore and also Paul Giamatti lost a bunch of weight and shaved and it just looks wrong
It'd have been nice to see Sam Neill get punished by Churchill and need to function without the Governments backing for a while
Yeah exactly there’s a lot they could’ve done. I know the actor who played Johnboy straight up asked the writer “so is my character ever going to be expanded or become anything more than a stooge” and the writer was like “nah probably not” and so he left because he had other roles. But like what was the writer thinking because he gave plenty of screentime to Arthur and Michael when they certainly didn’t warrant it. The stuff the decide to focus on in the show especially as far as subplots go sucks
>I know the actor who played Johnboy straight up asked the writer “so is my character ever going to be expanded or become anything more than a stooge” and the writer was like “nah probably not”
Lol, but still that sucks; I wish they did something more with John than just marry him off to Esme - still would've been better than five seasons of Arfuh being a violent alcoholic/druggie
Yeah exactly he was way more interesting to me than Arthur and him struggling with being a widower with a bunch of kids would’ve been more interesting than Arthur doing drugs. Also Ada brings and has always brought NOTHING to the show I have no idea how she’s made it so long
Steven Knight is a damn hack, we had to wait 5 (FIVE) full years to get Taboo S2 confirmed and ready for filming. The man is insane.
peaky blinders is the poors mans boardwalk empire
It jumped the shark when they had Misc lead a fenale labor strike against Tommy because he was oppressing them
Oh god I forgot about that
what was the point of this character
>"Yeah actually I had a son from a fling with a gypsy slag 18 years ago that I never told anyone about and now its time to bring him into the family"
what the frick were the writers thinking lmao
I genuinely don’t get this. We know Tommy had sex before the war and we know he’s a gypsy or at least gypsy adjacent so emphasizing these two things that were already very clear makes no sense.
Alfie should’ve been in every episode
This too Tom Hardy stole the fricking show
aaaggghhh....
>SHANSHA NOOOO
good morning sirs i love the peaky blinders i am currently saving rupees to dress like tommy thank you sirs
Awww that’s kind of adorable
>When did it jump the shark?
When the final villain of the first season gets insta one-tapped by Tommy despite having more men and guns then everyone just kind of goes home.
True that was extremely anti-climactic
