It's irony that other TMNT series always make FW Turtles dirty in crossover show, but eventually they need FW TMNT to make more money.

Honestly, I have no problem with new TMNT series having new elements, as long as they keep core four turtles, action, violence and adventure. Also, IDW TMNT has proven that rely on too much nostalgia will only make the series worse.

You 90s guys gotta stop being negative we had a good run. 2003 and 2012 were successful reboots it’s just Rise and mutant mayhem that’s kinda shakey.

People act like rise was sabotaged by boomers but completely ignore one year after 2012 died they decided to do rise.

I saw more zoomers made at rise than actual boomers some kids grew up with 2012

I think that has to do with the source comics being so directionless. Volume 1 was by far the only thing worth reading and a giant chunk of it is God awful meaningless guest issues.

I hope the next take is something completely fresh. I hope it draws from absolutely nothing preexisting.

This happened with 2003/2012 to me.

    >Start off strong the turtles revealing themselves to April, learning more about human life, tackling street level crime
    >Piss off the purple dragons eventually shredder and the food are involved
    >plots solid just the turtles being dudes fighting criminals
    >Slowly introduce more mutant/sci-fi stuff
    >Kraang get involved
    >Okay kraang are dealt with but oh no now we are Asian fantasy
    >Then the minute the turtles go to space the shows get shitty

in terms of toys, TMNT is making money hand over foot. Both for kids and adults.

I want them to hand a picture of the 4 brothers to a fantastic writer/artist duo who don't know dick about TMNT and say "go". If I see Utroms, Shredder or Triceratons you already fricked up. I don't even know if I want to see Splinter, April or Casey. The only way this franchise continues is if we lay a more solid foundation and the millionth retelling of V1 with 87' villains sprinkled around isn't going to cut it.

Solid foundation? You're asking for a lot. Fans don't like departures like what Bay and Rogen have done.

      >Splinter, April or Casey
I'd rather have them died at some point. Splinter could have died of illness in the first episode and only appeared in flashbacks and prequel arcs, and his last wish will haunts the four turtles, especially Leonardo.

April may be killed because old enemies want revenge on them, or new enemies appear in new story arc and April became a victim of their atrocities.

Casey will either die of his injuries or never be seen again after completing his revenge.

80s/90s run, then 2K3. Everything else is just academic.

I think it's peaked three times.

First It probably peaked between the first and second movies in1990-1991, what people call the "Turtle-mania" era.

Second time was between 2003-2009. During the entire run of the '03 turtles cartoon, including the TMNT '07 cgi movie and ending with the Turtles Forever tv movie. Not as massive as the original Turtles-Mania but a very slow and steady machine.

Third time was 2012-2016. If you had to pin it down to a specific year I'd say 2015. The IDW Comic, the Nick show and the Micheal Bay movie.

I would say that of those last two peaks it's not cleat if there is a deep fall off as Turtles where still popular in between, it's just were talking about "peak".

For the absolute valley I'd say 1999 is the year. abysmal year for the franchise. Nothing was happening.

      >the original Eastman/Laird run.
That was really only good until that got to Casey's farm, then it just meandered with no idea of what it wanted to do.
