Oh, and I stopped seeking out every new pixar release after Toy Story 3, because Cars 2 & MU both looked bad, & Brave looked boring. Inside Out & Coco were both okay but nothing as fantastic as the older works.
Toy Story 1 is the best movie on that list.
Debatable, but it isn't a bad movie, hence "Humble Beginnings" rather than "The Stone Age" or something similar.
Yeah, it's amazing how things line up like that. That returning to the well of their Big Debut Hit is a harbinger of a new era.
I think that pattern may be broken by this new Elio movie, since it looks decent.
>Brave
Not horrible but still a noticeable downgrade and reeks of wasted potential because of its development >TS3
Solid, not as good as 2 though >Inside Out
Solid >Finding Dory
Alright but shows drastic signs of unoriginality at the studio >Turning Red
It's a strong love it or hate it
But lets be honest the artstyle did not do any favors >Soul
Solid, Pete Docter is still the best director Pixar has ever had (Brad Bird sullied his reputation with Incredibles 2)
>>MU
Also was showing signs of creative sterility
Don't get me wrong, its message has aged like fine wine but at the same time it's not as creative or funny as the first film
cars
I saw Luca. Thought it was okay.
Saw Finding Dora and Incredibles 2 afterwards and lost a lot of interest.
Saw Soul and thought a strong "meh."
After Incredibles 2
Soul got my attention and I heard good things about it but I never saw it
I really enjoyed Inside Out and then lost interest in everything else afterwards.
I stopped liking them after Cars 2, but stopped watching after Inside Out
Thank you for reminding me to update my own, superior, version of this chart.

>every era starts with Toy Story
Buckle up lads, Toy Story 5 releases in 2025.

Elio looks like it’ll be Luca in terms of quality. Very safe and forgettable.
I only pay attention nowadays whenever Pete Docter is directing

2010
TS3 was the last Pixar movie I saw in theaters until 4.
