When Phantom Manace came out Boomers were unable to compregand a plotline about a mega corporation pressuring the government to give it tax cuts.
I think that explains the state of the world we live in.

Boss Nass is an analogue for Osama bin Laden.
>looks like nixon
>sounds like nixon
>even does the blubrurburh
t. historylet
Boss Nass is not a crook.
What was Boss Bass’s tax policy?
We're going on 25 years since the movie came out and no one can explain what a trade federation is, no such thing has ever existed in real life, not even Lucas knows what it is
>trade federation
Hanseatic league?
>What is Hanseatic League
>what is British east India company
Sounds like a middle man type thing. They probably buy from planet X and sell to planet Y, taking care of the actual trade between distant star systems (likely between the core and outer rim, since we know they used the low taxation sheme provided for outer rim to stimulate its economy, which abolishment sparked the Naboo crisis) and earning money of the margine between buy and sell price. Taxation reduces their margins at current price levels and increas of prices might be economically unviable
NAFTA is a trade federation. BRICS is a trade federation. EU is a trade federation.
BRICS doesn't exist.
Okay.
And they block ports and dont allow trade what so ever and can declare war on countries?
Lmao, no.
Also those are multi country alliances, not a single independent organization that just does whatever the frick it wants.
The trade federation in Tpm is a wholly made up idea with no foundation in reality
Wrong.
retcon doesn't count.
Okay.
This but unironically.
Yeah I believe "80% of the population has received a covid shot" source: my faithful cabal in the medical system says so.
Literally no one was talking about COVID you fricking schizo.
You brought the anti-Trump shit into this thread though.
Trump made the vaccine though. Did you forget
He was literally forced to advocate a vaccine program or face a much larger media attack or some shit. The system became more maniacal as every month past. It became more and more normal to threaten the office and more groups joined.
Is this what trumptards actually believe?
Yes, they believe real facts.
>or some shit
>real facts
Go read all the headlines from George Floyd onward. It was a total acceleration. Are there really so many people that stayed as unaware as you?
>Are there really so many people that stayed as unaware as you?
I mean...
Its literally the same cat ladies watching religiously every fricking day.
Then why does he still support it
Because he needs some middleroad votes to win. Obviously he doesn't know shit about the vaccine itself and doesn't care. I'm sure he didn't actually take it.
Oh no, he would have been attacked by the media? How ever would he recover from that? I thought making leftists mad was the whole point of his presidency
I literally explained to you that random company people and such were suddenly finding the balls to attack him publicly since the Floyd protesters became normal and popular.
What does that have to do with I just said? I don‘t care about your other arguments in this thread
Who the frick do you think owns the media shithead?
Again, what does that have to do with my original comment? Did trump betray his principles and try to make all his supporters take the clot shot because he was afraid the media would attack him? The same media that had been relentlessly attacking him for years already at that point?
He wasn't there when it was released so he couldn't. Wasn't his problem. He didn't push any mandates.
He was president when it was released., you moron. He decided voluntarily to push it on his supporters. „No mandates but you should totally take it“ is literally the controlled opposition position. And again, for a third time, why would trump give a shit about being attacked by the media? Wasn‘t that a constant during his entire presidency?
Nobody was even able to get in March dude. Your memory is fricked.
The early roll out started in december. Trump was still president then. That was the same vaccine that would be later rolled out to everyone
The supply was so low they only offered it to elderly and immune compromised for months. They actually arrested people for lying. Use google you shiity homosexual wannabe debater.
What is your argument? Trump isn‘t responsible for the vaccine because they weren‘t able to supply everyone under his watch? The vaccine was made and got approval under his watch. He actively pushed it during his presidency and afterwards. And again for a fourth time, since you keep dodging. Why would trump care about negative press, that he was already getting? Did trump who tells it like it is, push a deadly vaccine because he was afraid rachel maddow would call him dumb? Your arguments are fricking incoherent and don‘t even adress my own argument, while still being wrong in their own right. Just accept that supporting trump and thinking the vaccine is population control aren‘t compatible positions
He can't force mass mandates if they aren't giving it to anybody but select medical workers. He was packing up when all this happened.
So it‘s okay that he approved and pushed a deadly vaccine because he didn‘t literally pass mandates? Mandates which never got passed by biden either, btw. And you know the stick by know, Nr. T:why would trump care about negative press? Are you actually unable to come up with any response to this? Your other argument were so shit you can‘t really do worse on this one
Biden told everyone they'd die if they didn't take it after he failed to get many institutions to mandate it by pressure.
That doesn‘t answer the question
Some of the voters he needed already insisted on getting a vaccine. He didn't need to push it to them because they already made up their minds about that.
Then why did he?
Honestly, it‘s clear that you didn‘t think any of this through. I assume that‘s why you have such a hard time actually engaging with arguments. But that‘s maybe just how you do it. You don‘t need to bother grasping at straws in a Cinemaphile thread. You should probably spend more time critically examining your own views. You are wrong about this but I‘m pretty sure that your inability to critically engage is a common thread with most of your opinions on things
Huh? I already said he needed a certain handful of middleground sitting people in a few states and that's the only way you get to stay president. He never PUSHED anybody to take it. He never told people they would die if they didn't want to get it. He knows most of his voters didn't care for it and they know his stance on covid's severity by the fact he didn't walk up to podiums wearing masks like democrats. He just needed some of the voters that wanted to be jabbed to feel safe and its an unfortunate circumstance that came up for him.
this is pathetic cope. the media were attacking him FOR pushing the vax. media attacks have never deterred him from doing anything. he pushed the vax because he is evil and not a friend of humanity 🙂
How many "vaccines" did you take?
2 vaccines and 2 boosters. Because I'm not a virgin living in his mom's basement like you.
I moved out of home years before the mandates.
So that's why you're moronic
>he wants reality in his Star Wars movie
NAFTA is a commerce treaty you fricking dunce.
Okay.
>The Trade Federation was a megacorporation that worked as an interstellar shipping and trade conglomerate. It grew so powerful during the waning years of the Galactic Republic, that it had its own representatives in the Galactic Senate.
That wasn't hard
George Lucas skimmed dune in 1972 and wanted to adapt the spacing guild but had kinda forgotten a lot of the book by then
I'm sure he had at least east one employed nerd chewing his ear off about Dune every single day of his life since Star Wars hit and it became his full time job.
Well, half of his ideas came straight from that novel so he shouldn‘t be complaining
revenge of the sith is just dune messiah without the carthatic release of god emperor. this is also why revenge of the sith is the only good star wars movie
Lobot in ESB is litterally a Mentat too
>Waht is the eurozone
Is this a joke or do star wars fans really not know what trade federation means
Have you ever heard of the Hanseatic League? The European Union? Hello? moron.
Well that's explained why the media tell people to hate it.
>Boomers
Phantom menace target audience was around age 6...
Not surprised they didn't understand corporate shenanigans or taxes.
It targetted everyone. These things were meant to appeal to boomers, and jar jar to the kids.
Details aside, it did end up appealing to some older crowds. That whole thread was Palpatine's. And everyone loves Palpatine.
The prequels suck dick.
I like that episode of Spaced where his boss tells him to calm the frick down about the prequels and let kids enjoy it.
I could break this homosexual's arm in a second and force respect.
>They're a monumental misunderstanding of what the original three films are about.
Lucas was clearly trying to do something different with the prequels. I definitely like them less than the OT but they're their own thing that I enjoy
You better enjoy American films esl moron
Ready Player One fan has entered the thread.
ROTJ really isn't that good and just as bad as the prequels.
Only SW and ESB are really great films, after that it became a fun franchise for the kids to buy toys for.
The post that broke Cinemaphile. Look at all the seethe lmao
Thats not what happened though. It was a fricking comic book plot and then Lucas leaned into political hues with it after 9/11.
Sounds like something a moron zoomer would say of course. Lucas knew it was mostly going to be kids watching the movie so a loaded political message was kind of stupid like they did in ROS with a jab towards Bush about the war in Iraq about absolutism referencing Bush when he said you either with us or against us.
Bottom line is you're fricking homosexual ass moron b***h and you need to have a nice day.
oh yeah, nobody had ever made a movie about le evil corporation before. it's not like it's one of the most common hollywood story cliches. fricking dumb frog poster.
>a plotline about a mega corporation pressuring the government to give it tax cuts
It had none of that, it was an Irak war allegory, a rather blatant one, too.
>attention-thirsty frog spammer mongoloid can't follow an obvious plot
Shocking.
It was before the iraq war
the prequels are badly made but at least they feel like start wars.
i'll take badly made star wars over well made nu-wars any day.
>the prequels are badly made
Wrong
prequelgays are mentally ill
they are but they're loveable, the flaws are endearing in a weird way. it's fun to watch with kino action and kino ideas, and some terrible acting.
George Lucas hates you. He sold out to Disney to spite you. Why do you defend him? Is it Stockholm syndrome?
Because in the end, he did nothing wrong.
The prequels were fun movies and just because a couple of manchildren didn't like them they aren't bad. Quite the opposite, in fact
But they‘re not fun. Their boring as hell, especially aotc.
They weren't. I was a young teenager when these movies came out and I thought they were fun. Million others thought so too and just because a couple of people can't handle the fact that their plotwise always mediocre sci fi movie had a new target audience doesn't make them bad movies.
You would have found blinking lights and flash animation entertaining at that age. Doesn‘t mean they are way more exciting way more interesting movies you could have watched at the time, that would actually stick with you. And a question you can answer for yourself. When was the last time you watched aotc. It doesn‘t hold up, it‘s actually awful
George Lucas loves me, specifically.
george lucas is too autistic to feel real emotions.
watch the RLM reviews
>politics in star wars??? Nooo I want boom boom explosions
>BOOM BOOM POW
>I'M SO 2008
>YOU'RE SO 2000 AND LATE
The prequels are full of boom boom explosions and flashing cgi effects. The problem is that the politics aren‘t engaging at all
>The problem is that the politics aren‘t engaging at all
When you're a moron unable to fallow a simple plotline it's hard to be engaged
Just because I understand the plot of a movie doesn‘t mean that that movie is engaging. This is such an obvious thing I shouldn‘t need to point it out. People not liking the same movies you like, doesn‘t require them to be dumber than you. Tempting as it might be for you to define your intelligence by liking a movie whose script was written in 3 weeks during preproduction.
Ok, so where is the tension in political plot of the prequels? Where are the close votes, the backstabbing, the rising speeches from the opposition? What tense scenes do the politics produce? The senate is just a bunch of faceless brainless idiots. Which while accurate doesn‘t make for an exciting plot at all
>Ok, so where is the tension in political plot of the prequels? Where are the close votes, the backstabbing, the rising speeches from the opposition? What tense scenes do the politics produce?
Literally all in TPM.
Amidala decides to give up the senate because of all of that shit.
Go on, be specific. Name a tense political scene the phantom menace
When producing The Phantom Menace, they (George) made a serious mistake by not at the earliest possible opportunity illustrating to the audience just how large & biologically varied the Galaxy is before dumping all of the incomprehensible political senate trade war cloak & dagger intrigue bullshit on the audience. Like, in the original trilogy, we the audience were exposed to about four planets in total, all of which wild, were largely undeveloped environments (desolate desert, icy waste, spooky swamp, teddy bear-infested jungle), & then in the opening moments of episode I, we're thrown into this dry as hell interplanetary socioeconomic dispute without context to any of it at all. It would feel more meaningful if people understood the scale & nature of the conflict
>The galactic core is an inhabitable area
>Colonization seems to happen outward from the core
???
Too many stars, the gravity from them just about makes hyperspace travel to the deep core impossible. There’s a couple of routes but they don’t always remain traversable.
They used to be able to feed a family of four for a month on a nickel, buy a car for $5 and and a home for $100, taxes back then were a tracing of their hand colored like a turkey. They don't understand shit about money.
Zoomers are too mind raped by drinking flouride and birth control since birth to realize how bad these were at premier. I’ve never seen a more dejected, disappointed and literally depressed audience in my life than I did that day, cutting class and waiting in line for 8 hours before seeing that fricking shit show embarrassment. And still, it’s better than anything Disney has or will ever produce.
The problem was that Lucas was into anthropology, history, politics, avant-garde film making and old fantasies like Flash Gordon. The majority of SW fans are hopeless dorks who don't understand anything that Lucas was into.
he’s into all of these disparate things, and that’s why he made three really bad films
pea brain pls
