when referring to the atomic bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki do australians and new zealanders refer to it as "when >we dropped the bomb on japan"
when referring to the atomic bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki do australians and new zealanders refer to it as "when >we dropped the bomb on japan"
oops meant for Cinemaphile
>Cinemaphile
no, no one (besides baz lurhmann) even remembers that japan attacked australian mainland
we don't even think about it
Can't talk for Australians but as a Kiwi I've never heard anyone say that. While we contributed to the Allied war effort the atomic bombs are seen as a yank thing.
das rite
no we don't
Uh yes? like sure, that could be something that someone says, absolutely
not sure why this is a question or what your thinking is?
who asked, hobbitgay
No, but there are people here who dislike how the US gets all the glory of the pacific theater when the ANZACs were doing a shittonne of the work too
Tell that to the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels that Howard gypped when there was money to be made.
Can't call them that anymore, you'll get sent to jail for being insensitive and racist
No, it's when the Americans dropped the bomb. We just wanted to hang the emperor, but no one would let us.
Not really, it's usually viewed that the Americans were the ones who dropped the nukes here.
Australians and Kiwis were part of the allies and a key part of the Pacific theatre, I guess.
No. The only thing we ever talk about in regards to WW2 is the Kokoda trail and Tobruk.
I am a kiwigay, and no
Nah. People say "when 'they' nuked Japan" like as in someone else or "that time a bloke in a plane named homosexual flash fried a shit tin of bugs and it stank up the whole Asiatic for a bit" we don't take credit.
Explain?
It makes perfect sense you pinoy ESL moron and I will not explain
Your words are cohesive, your point is not
you say "what if" with no relation to reality
>what if
i have said that nowhere you schizo moron
well Australians didn't drop the bomb, nor did they have a hand in creating it so why would they say we?
apart from a "what if" scenario
>well Australians didn't drop the bomb, nor did they have a hand in creating it so why would they say we?
that is literally the question being asked in the OP.
again, frick off ESL moron
Oliphant's contribution to this work was his discovery of Helium 3 and Tritium. He also discovered that heavy hydrogen nuclei could be made to react with each other – the fusion reaction which is the basis for a hydrogen bomb. He also worked on the Manhattan project.
NZ is notoriously anti nuke, so no for them
yes and it’s about time Brucenheimer gets some respect
It'd be 'when the americans dropped the bomb'
GIVE THE JAPS SOME FRICKIN NUKES, b***h
Only the UK and Canada can really claim significant contribution to the Manhattan Project. Even then, it was pretty much a unilateral American decision how to use the bomb and when to use it.
The US had to agree with the UK on whether to use the bomb as part of their co-operation agreement on the Manhattan Project.
The UK was always going to let America use it regardless, but officially they had to ask for the British blessing.
no
dipshit
We waz boms
No the worst was the end of Ip Man when it says China defeated Japan.
nope. America dropped the bomb, we don't see that as us. I think us as in the allies that fought Germany and Japan together but that doesn't extend to Hiroshima and Nagasaki
No, we are savage enough to use nuclear weapons in war.
>Why does everyone say this thing that literally no one had ever said???
Mystery for the ages, moron
yes
WE were part of the allied forces and are an extremely close ally with america.
Yeah. Allies dropped the bomb on the axis.
