They were literally almost done with story when it happened. They had the Raw set decorated in all black and were going to have a somber memorial for Vince where he would make his return, then the Benoit news breaks just before the show starts and they had to cancel everything and kick out the audience.
In wood shop back in '99 there was this black kid who, every single day, would come into the room and climb onto his stool, puff out his chest and shout, "Finally, the Rock has returned to shop class!"
Around the time covid hit and they couldn't have audiences, but even then I was only watching a PPV every couple of months and keeping up through WOR/WOL. I haven't actually enjoyed wrestling since the Naito/Omega/Okada/Tanahashi/Shibata era. That shit was absolute kino. Never even watched AEW, despite the fact I probably would have enjoyed it more than WWE shit.
Same for me, but 2018. I was watching impact, WWE, lucha underground, and even those shitty local Saturday morning 30 minute shows with the bullet club, but after I got shipped out, I just stopped.
Reigns vs HHH
That Wrestlemania was pretty fun, but when the guy who people claim killed the business is being cheered over the top babyface who's being pushed to the moon it really says everything about where the company was heading. Heard that its only got worse.
I was a regular wrestling fan until I got fed up with WWE pushing Roman Reigns in 2015, then I just lost interest and over time a lot of guys I like disappeared and got replaced by zero talent hacks. I did watch the 2021 wrestlemania though, it had only one match I liked so now it's back to not watching again.
2004 when I was 13, I was into it quite a bit for years but then grew out of it almost instantly one day.
I don't understand how anyone older than 13 can watch it
Probably that weird period of time between Wrestlemania 27 and 28. Its weird how much happened in that time and how much of it was baffling. Kane came back in a mask and fueded with Cena, CM Punk got BURRIED for no reason at all, Zack Ryder got cucked, R-Truth had a schizo angle, Daniel Bryan did something. Very confusing
When it was called WWF. Bought the WWE 2k Playground game and I just have no idea who these same face characters are and find myself just grinding to unlock classic memorable wrestlers.
I want a famous director to direct the show. Get, like, Tarantino, tell him he has three months and two ppv to culminate at, say, Summerslam. He controls the story and dialogue and the wrestlers are his actors. It’d be like a stage production except with long term storytelling over the course of three months. He’s have to juggle multiple storylines and a wide cast of characters in twice a week shows, with no second takes. I think the product would be a nice change of pace.
Kevin Owens is a fat moron. I just can't get behind a guy desiring to do that much in the ring and just being disgusting to look at. I can't take him seriously. He's just a fat dude out there doing moves he has no business doing. I hate him so much.
Fricking...pffhbt. 2017 for full episodes. I only catch bits and pieces. Round-up news through Wrestlelamia or Botchamania. I only buy the vidya every three or four entries otherwise it's all the same fricking shit.
2014 probably, I only watched it then because it was on at work
Last time I really watched it with any regularity was 2003
When The Union formed up to take on The Corporate Ministry.
Holy shit, I just realized after posting this that it wasn't even WWE yet, it was still WWF. I guess technically that means I've never watched WWE.
Same thing
When R-Truth came in as a confederate soldier. Couldnt be topped and stopped watching right there
he was fricking hilarious for a little while there
The Edge and Lita screwing in a bed in the middle of the ring storyline bit is where I checked out permanently.
does watching 8 Pounds of Gunt with Gahoole and PPP count?
when Rocky went bald
When they dropped the who murdered Vince story because of Benoit. The should have continued it.

Couple of hours ago.
Back in 92.
the sweltering summer of '92, give or take
When Chris Benoit successfully destroyed the WWE by murdering his entire family.
2001
Benoit was still alive.
In wood shop back in '99 there was this black kid who, every single day, would come into the room and climb onto his stool, puff out his chest and shout, "Finally, the Rock has returned to shop class!"
Unironically based, that would have made me start watching.
Cringe fiction. have a nice day.

I gave up before I left for boot camp in 2002. I'm pretty sure it was still WWF. The Invasion was the last good storyline.

When benoit died. It went to shit after that.
decades ago
When stone cold stopped showing up

Around 2003, after the shitty Invasion angle. I always keep my ears open to hear if it's gotten better but I always hear that it keeps getting worse.
When it was called WWF. Bought the WWE 2k Playground game and I just have no idea who these same face characters are and find myself just grinding to unlock classic memorable wrestlers.
2008/2011 were the last good games in the series. 2011 even had 3 storylines with splitting paths. Unironically kino

Lucha underground is what you want. Robert Rodriguez was at the helm
That's pretty much Vince Russo's style. He was the head writer during the Attitude Era
Steve Austins weirs return against Kevin Owens. I hope he got paid well for it.

>body shaming in 2022
i shiggy
2019
AEW is better than anything WWE has done in the past 20+ years
>troony fed
