They did an arc on that a few years back in X-Men Blue, Ultimate mutants are still mutants according to Ms. Sinister. Just with the bonus of a virus in their system that can be replicated and spread to forcefully mutate and activate X-Genes.

I'm not even sure she fits that criteria since the only reason she has powers is because her mom was pregnant when she volunteered for Roxxon mad science experiments that apparently had nothing to do with WWII stuff that created mutants. She's classed as a mutant because anyone in Ultimate who was born with powers is classed as a mutant.

I hate that Gwen, the absolute worst, most nonsensical choice gets pushed so much. Thankfully it's ignored outside the movies and Sitting in a Tree. Lana is best girl though and they do her so dirty. The way Miles talks to and about Hightail, she seems considerably older than him, but maybe he's just making Hightail sound older than she is. Ahmed seemed set on Tiana though, and I don't see any real signs Ziglar is going to undo that. Which is a shame, because I don't find Tiana nearly as charming as pretty much any of Miles' other options.

Isn't that just reflective of teen relationships? Highschool sweethearts going on to become decades long married couples are far fewer than those that end up with multiple relationships throughout their life.

He set it's groundwork/dynamic and even fully realized the heroic parallel between the two, something Starling hasn't done yet, despite being the only female his age that he has ever interacted with since they started dating. That didn't change until Ziglar took over. The encounter with Vulture is literally a lay up of a story that is completely unique to Tiana, but as of yet it hasn't happened. A complete waste and one of the reasons Tiana falls out of favor for other love interests by anyone that ACTUAL reads the book.
