When you think about it there's really no way to salvage this "canon events" and Spider-Society and anomaly bullshit
>if Miguel is wrong and canon events aren't real or are caused by something else and Miles can save his dad, then every Spider-Man is a dumbass for believing him and allowing innocent people to die
>if Miguel is right and canon events are real and Miles can't save his dad or can but by inadvertently trading him for another death, then the metaphysics of the universe are moronic and make Spider-Man pointless
>if Miguel is right but Miles can still save his dad because he's an anomaly, the movie still shits on every Spider-Man as supposedly stuck in a pattern of death where Miles is the super special Gary Stu who can make everything work
There really is no fricking way out of this moronic corner they wrote themselves into without dire consequences and implications for everyone

There, I fixed the movie.

Make a fanfic of it
>Miguel ends up naked in public
add in Peter and you got a movie
Make it Gwen who ends up naked and you sold me.
but I don't wanna see girlwiener
Suggestions for Miguel’s nudity scenario?
Gay Spider Porn of course.
They already established with Dr Strange that defying Fate results in universe destruction. Backtracking on that just to make Miles special would shitty storytelling
>just to make Miles special would shitty storytelling
Name 1 Miles story that isn't shit.
All of them
Correct, all of them are shit
It's more like that the universe was destroyed as a result of that Doctor Strange constantly attempting to rewind the universe an untold number of times that the universe became unstable and collapsed into itself.
no strange broke time by fricking up an event in his own timeline. if he had just replaced her with a lifeless identical copy he wouldn't have broken time.
>Backtracking on that just to make Miles special would shitty storytelling
par for the course with Miles
You know, they never explained how a convergence actually happens.
Frick your rules and frick the MCU
>Frick your rules and frick the MCU
If they didn't want to live by those rules, they shouldn't have directly referenced the MCU in the movie.
by What If Dr Strange rules, if you prevent something meant to happen, the universe will adjust and make it happen anyway. So Christine Palmer may not die in the car crash, but she'll get shot or have a heart attack or something. So Captain Singh would have died later, same for Miles' dad if he tries to save him.
By Spider-Verse rules, if you prevent something meant to happen, the universe fricking explodes. Christine has to die in the car crash or the unraveling of the world starts immediately, and there's no second chances.
Incompatible shit.
Maybe it's different for an anomaly or just someone from a different universe changing things?
Maybe Michelle was supposed to die in that fall during the final fight in NWH but Andrew Peter changed things?
I don't think you get that being an anomaly gives you more leeway to create your own cannon.
>by What If Dr Strange rules, if you prevent something meant to happen, the universe will adjust and make it happen anyway.
You know in a fricked up kind of way that might actually explain Parker Luck. Like, he saves Aunt May so the universe keeps trying to kill her, be it by disease or a bullet. He keeps trying to marry a girl and start a family and then the girl turns out to be a clone or a made of water, or the baby gets deleted from existence by the devil
>By Spider-Verse rules, if you prevent something meant to happen, the universe fricking explodes. Christine has to die in the car crash or the unraveling of the world starts immediately, and there's no second chances.
Isn't this the exact thing that happens when Strange finds a way to break the "fixed point" or "canon event" or "absolute point" or whatever we're calling it now? Maybe some are easier to break in some timelines than others, or the rules of time vary from universe to universe. This is the whole problem with the multiverse, the only rule is that there is no rules, so writers can just handwave away literally anything
It’s the idea of “fixed-points”. Time travel stories employ it where the details of an event are subject to change but the beats must remain the same.
I give way more of a shit about Spider-Man than Dr. Strange so I don't give a frick what his story says.
Ok, hear me out
>Gwen transitioning is a canon event
>if Miguel ever found a 'Glenn' he'd be forced to feminize him to save the spiderverse
hot

Where on Earth did you find this?
Google has the absolute worst reverse image search, Yandex is 100x better and its reverse image search is vastly superior.

>KINO
Miguel has access to top notch gene encoding machines. He can make a Superior Spider Gwen.
>Tosses a Twinky Glenn into the sequencing chamber.
>Out pops a busty hippy and leggy Spider Gwendolyn
i would watch that
I'm... confused by this.
What's to be confused by? Don't you want Miguel to frick 'Glenn' until he turns into a cute twink frickboi? For the greater good of the Spiderverse, of course.
this movie regardless of how shit is actually delivering interesting topics like it or not
>Miles' dad decides to turn down captain promotion is lieu of focusing more on his family and raising his adolescent son
>During a fight, the spot picks up the police captain's hat and semi-jokingly declares "Now I'M the captain!" before getting killed by some stupid shit like a buster keaton stunt gone wrong
The writing in the second was pretty hokey. I'm not holding onto much hope for there to be a serious, universal resolution to the canon events thing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it winds up being some sort of silly technicality thing with a possibility of the "muh kid's growing up too fast and ima lose them" thing sprinkled in. While very entertaining, the writing was fairly hokey and on the nose. I don't fault it for that considering the main audience, but it's what it's
I'm only here for Uncle Miguel.
Was Miguel's skin that dark in the movie?
No, the lighting made him look brown as frick
Yeah, the character designers made him brown instead of pale Mexican
tumblr "fan"art often makes characters look darker than they are
But not in this case. Miguel in this movie is brown. Not that i want to make this a problem, the movie has already a lot of other issues on his own.
The only saving grace of the movie in my opinion is the canonization of Gwen as a trans woman, I cried when Gwen came out to his father, what a wonderful moment, TRANS LIVES MATTER
Miguel is not wrong. ITSV showed universes are similar to bodies. When foreign objects enter from other dimensions the universe will slowly kill them. In ATSV Miguel's gizmo fixes the problem of dying for visitors but it creates another problem from prolonged use. Eventually the universe/story/world breaks down the longer the visitor interacts with that world and disrupts it's natural flow. We see this happen twice inside ATSV, in the present with Miles saving the inspector and the story of Miguel, which is corroborated by Peter B, a trusted source. 'Canon' or 'story flow' is a tangible thing in the Spiderverse films and outside forces disrupting or diverting that flow destroys universes.
While Miguel is right the audience also learns that 'Canon' can be broken without threat to the world. We, also, see this happen twice in the same movie. Peter B. explains that Mayday herself is 'non-canon'. Without Peter interacting with Miles he would not have generated the idea that he wanted to be a father. His encounter with Miles changed the trajectory of his life of solemn burden of duty, to building, nurturing, and protecting a family. Likewise our 2nd example of Canon breaking comes from Gwen with her father. Her re-encounter and loss of Miles prompts a speech about duty with her confrontation with Captain Stacy. That speech removes George from his doomed state of predetermined sacrifice to mold Gwen into a more refined hero. But that speech would not have been prompted with out those 'non-canon' elements.
There is some sort of difference between a heavy handed change like Miles saving the Indian inspector or Miguel living indefinitely on that other world which causes universes to collapse and the flow of 'non-canon' ideas that shape canon events, like with Mayday and the former Captain Stacy. That difference is how they can possibly 'win'.
The most important thing learned from all this though is Gwen and Miles cannot be together.
That would be moronic and redundant since it's just repeating the first movie's story between the two of them and not like they'd miss a chance to shit on Peter by having Miles be the only one who can get Gwen
Unless there is some other thing we don't know about dimensional travel in these films there is no conceivable way for Gwiles to happen. Miguel has already tried essential what the two lovers would try to do. Living on either of their home worlds, on a new one would destroy themselves or the universe around them.
What a cute queer couple
It's not gay to date a trans girl. It is, however, gay to let her peg you. But it's gay to let any girl peg you, so...
Small girlwiener
unf
Did she molest Peni and that's why she's depressed in the movie?
Gwen frickes Miles, also if you like a girl with a dick you ain't straight Miles is a queer black boi that's gets fricked in the ass by a troony
>not like they'd miss a chance to shit on Peter by having Miles be the only one who can get Gwen
Oh my fricking god you morons cannot let this go
Gwen is a fricking teenager and Peter is a MARRIED DAD living with the love of his life.
Stop being so fricking fixated on cuck shit, stop watching porn for like a week please
Either low IQ or intentionally obtuse
>take established fictional romantic pairing like Morticia and Gomez Addams
>write a story in which they have an age gap far beyond what they usually do and aren't paired together for that reason
>put in another character who romances Morticia and frame it as a good thing and have Gomez cheer them on
>it's not cuckshit because ???
>>it's not cuckshit because ???
Yeah it's not like Peter fell in love with anyone else or anything. Did you know that if someone fricks the girlfriend you had 15 years ago you're a cuck?
>take established fictional romantic pairing like Morticia and Gomez Addams
If you ask the majority of people who Peter Parker's love interest is they will say Mary Jane, not Gwen Stacy
Porn obsessed and deranged.
>Yeah it's not like Peter fell in love with anyone else or anything.
Nice dodge of the issue, but yeah making Gomez falls for someone else still doesn't excuse the cuckshit motivation behind the whole contrivance
>Did you know that if someone fricks the girlfriend you had 15 years ago you're a cuck
Gwen is a fictional character, usually the dead first love
>If you ask the majority of people who Peter Parker's love interest is they will say Mary Jane, not Gwen Stacy
I wasn't aware popular consensus somehow changed objective facts
>Porn obsessed and deranged.
Yeah Bendis is both
>objective facts
The objective fact is the pairing analogous to Morticia and Gomez would be Peter and MJ, not Peter and Gwen. That's his lover.
>Gwen is a fictional character, usually the dead first love
Okay? Well adjusted people, fictional or otherwise, don't consider someone you were with a decade+ prior being with someone else cucking when you've already moved on. Have you actually had a real relationship, anon?
>The objective fact is the pairing analogous to Morticia and Gomez would be Peter and MJ, not Peter and Gwen. That's his lover.
And according to your logic, making Peter old as frick and MJ a teen would've been completely fine non-cuck writing
>Okay? Well adjusted people, fictional or otherwise, don't consider someone you were with a decade+ prior being with someone else cucking when you've already moved on.
I'm not sure if you understood the point of me specifying Gwen is a fictional character
>And according to your logic
Not what I've said or implied. Your analogy literally does not work Peter and Gwen because their relationship is fundamentally different. Cope.
Nope that's pretty much the logic you used to justify it here
Make MJ a teenager and Peter a married dad with the love his life Gwen, and Miles is free to have MJ, just switch the names around
>you
Not even my post you spaz
>And according to your logic, making Peter old as frick and MJ a teen would've been completely fine non-cuck writing
If MJ was a different MJ from a different universe? Yeah it would you porn addict frick
>I'm not sure if you understood the point of me specifying Gwen is a fictional character
Yeah, the point is you're trying hard to fit your porn addict brain narrative that sees cuckshit in everything into a fictional character
Literally just go outside and touch some grass PLEASE
>If MJ was a different MJ from a different universe? Yeah it would you porn addict frick
lol of course someone defending Gwen and Miles would also have no issues with MJ and Miles
>Yeah, the point is you're trying hard to fit your porn addict brain narrative that sees cuckshit in everything into a fictional character
Pointing out a pairing made by a porn addicted writer is not the same as being porn addicted yourself, but maybe you're just projecting with how much you keep bringing it up
>also have no issues with MJ and Miles
That is not what he said.
>Gomez and Morticia
Established married characters that have been married since their conception
>Peter and Gwen
Had a relationship once and then she died
Wow, same fricking thing
>I wasn't aware popular consensus somehow changed objective facts
The objective fact is that this Peter is married to MJ. And another objective fact is that MJ has been his love interest for longer than you've been alive. Gwen has been dead for decades
>Well adjusted people, fictional or otherwise, don't consider someone you were with a decade+ prior being with someone else cucking when you've already moved on. Have you actually had a real relationship, anon?
Lemme answer that for him: He hasn't
>Established married characters that have been married since their conception
And Gwen has been established as Peter's romance interest and girlfriend since her conception
>Had a relationship once and then she died
Why are you trying so hard to undersell it? Do you happen to have an ulterior motive to underplaying the importance Gwen had in his life
>The objective fact is that this Peter is married to MJ.
Irrelevant to the argument
>And another objective fact is that MJ has been his love interest for longer than you've been alive.
And Gwen has been his love interest just as long
>Gwen has been dead for decades
Gwen is a fictional character
Gwen will be the one who's most likely to die in the next movie
Gwen and Miles will have to part ways to keep the spiderverse in balance. But at the very end of the movie Miles is going to meet the Gwen from his universe.
And is going to be a man named Gwendolyn after that Miles will come out as gay, then end
>NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLACK PEOPLE CANT HAVE GIRLFRIENDS OR ELSE MY DAUGHTERS MOM WILL STILL BE CHEATING WITH JAVARIUS!!!!
trash like you who spurned this moronic meme just because nazi-level racism deserve to die a billion deaths. you will never amount to anything, and i hope your 'wife' dumps you like the piece of shit you are.
Anon I didn't do anything, trannies on Twitter were the ones that made Gwen trans, not me
Gwen is not a fricking troony, she is a woman!
TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN AND MILES IS QUEER RESPECT HIS IDENTITY
>But at the very end of the movie Miles is going to meet the Gwen from his universe.
Shouldn't she be dead? Like, really dead?
Yeah she should be dead cuz she dying is a canon event for 99% of spider-men
yes
Note the common thread between altering the canon is love. Peter B felt love for Miles and this changed the canon. Captain Stacy felt love for his daughter so it changes the canon.
That's the whole shebang. Miguel was selfish so he failed to alter the canon. Your spoiler is the opposite — it's their love that rewrites the canon.
In every universe, she says, Gwen Stacy falls for Spiderman and it doesn't go well. That means this universe will be different.
>In every universe, she says, Gwen Stacy falls for Spiderman and it doesn't go well.
You may notice they used a very deliberate choice of words there.
So you’re saying Miles’ love of having Gwen’s feminine penis buried balls deep in his bussy will be powerful enough to rewrite canon?
>Gwen and Miles cannot be together
how so? that has nothing to do with either of their canons.
Yeah that anon is transphobic, why can a queer black boi and a transgender white women be together???
frick off moron
Stop being a bigot!
Miguel tried living in another universe permanently. That blew it up. That was literally the most important fact learned from his story. Gwiles is doomed.
>Gwiles is doomed
Trans love can overcome every obstacle
Nah the whole trilogy is about how Miles is the most importantest specialest bestest Spider-Man ever who can do everything composed to all the old shitty Spider-Men
the main character special crazy
>Gwiles is doomed.
The amount of shippers they have is insane for your average Hollywood movie. No way the writers are not going to put them together at the end of the movie. There was an entire 10 minute sequence in the film of them just hanging out.
Nah more people are shipping her with Hobie or Miguel, they have nothing on Tom x Zendaya teen girls living vicariously through MCU Spider-Man
https://twitter.com/PopBase/status/1663998070378622976
Hobie is almost exclusively shipped with Pav.
Miguel is either gay stuff with Peter, solo, or shipped with some OC.
Gwen is either with Miles, solo, or grouped with friends.
Yesterday's twitter post from the official account for best friend day of Miles and Gwen being 'besties' was almost exclusively met with responses of:
>"Friends"
Is there no MilesxMiles?
It's 2023. What do you think?
Nah you're making shit up, Pav isn't being shipped with anyone since he has a girlfriend
Why do you need for me to wade through 30gb of gay porn just to find something worksafe?
Dang there's that much porn of them already?
Gwen tops Miles they aren't friends Miles is a milk man that loves white dick
Miles couldn't live without his fix of white troony wiener in his ass.
Did the digital release of the movie leak? How do people already have such high-quality footage from it on here?
Personally I think it’s a rouge theater employee who brought his camera to a solo showing.
>That cam footage with *MUNCH MUNCH MUNC* *SLURP SLURP SLURP* for a whole hour
Dude never ran out if snacks. Must've bought like three sodas and seven popcorns.
People who don't eat before going to a movie should get shot
GWILES IS A QUEER COUPLE OF COURSE HOLLYWOOD WOULD SUPPORT THEM
What if it wasn’t that? What if “replacing Spider-Man” is different from “living in another universe”
Let's just have a relationship trough universes that won't create and incursion at all.
Like I posted before trans love will overcome anything!
>Spoiler text
True.
Miles is going to date the hologram b***h because she doesn't need to physically be in the other dimension
>spoiler
>>if Miguel is right but Miles can still save his dad because he's an anomaly, the movie still shits on every Spider-Man as supposedly stuck in a pattern of death where Miles is the super special Gary Stu who can make everything work
this is still the best option though
Nah that shits on all the Spider-Men as a concept, on Miles by making him a Gary Stu, and then making Miles a Gary Stu doubly shits on all the Spider-Men
Is everyone just gonna' ignore that Gwen's dad just quitting as Captain is implied to be the correct way to avoid a canon event?
Which makes all the Spider-Men look impossibly incompetent for not even trying a simple fix like that and also makes the metaphysics a silly joke about technicality
Nobody was dimension hopping until the events of the first movie anon, how the frick were they supposed to know to do that or even be aware of Canon Events in the first place?
Did you even watch the movie?
They've been hopping for a year and they chose to stop Miles from saving his dad instead of trying a simple fix like that. They literally let people die as shown in the India dimension instead of looking for a solution.
How many are aware that's what's happening though? Is it possible the ones closest to Miguel are in on the "let everyone die who has to" strategy?
>They've been hopping for a year
They couldn't have been doing it for years because Peter and Miguel definitely met after Peter met Miles. And Miles has only been Spiderman for about a year.
Time must work differently in Spider-Nexus or whatever. Also it's clear that different universe move at differnt times. So discrempanies like that "should" be easy to explain.
>Which makes all the Spider-Men look impossibly incompetent for not even trying a simple fix like that
That's pretty in keeping though. Peter *never* chooses the simple answer.
What a dumb way to write comics, everyone can fight malaria, only Spider-Man can fight Electro
Electro is small time. Pretty much anyone can take him
>only Spider-Man can fight Electro
Couldn't the Fantastic Four fight Electro?
Reed would probably overthink it and end up making Electro even more powerful, Max should actually be stupid powerful on his own but his stupidity keeps him down and from fulfilling his potential, and Peter being down to Earth helps him take advantage of that
the comic autor. lex lutor.
>that page
You know, one thing I hate about comics writers and artists is their need to copy reality. From art styles to plot lines, it’s trying too hard to put spider-man in the real world, when there’s obviously a sense of fantasy in his character. Like even insomniacs SM suffers this issue design wise with its world. Spider-Man’s always been better as a cartoon/stylized comic worrying about stopping villains rather than fixing world hunger
is not good enough that you are helping new jork. not become a mexican shit hole were criminals can do what they want. along with the sometimes ocurance you help someone or single handenly save the world. you have to also get money to donate to charity. cause charities are the only things people see as good by its nature by morden people. this is less stupid than the batman should just donate his money to defeat darkshield. but I don't like it.
We don't even know if this is a solution yet.
Most the spidermen didn't know about the other universes before they had those events happen to them
They kinda fricked up when they let gwen in before her dad died
They still acted like psychos trying to stop Miles
Miguel's big spider like behind
Goddamn!
Made for choking uppity spider bucks into submission.
Man the Insomniac Spider-Man thing kind of contradicts Miles being an anomaly.
Miles in general being Spider-Man is not an anomaly, that specific Miles is an anomaly because his spider came from a different universe and was meant for someone else.
>>if Miguel is right but Miles can still save his dad because he's an anomaly
This makes the most sense imo
>"heh all your favorite Spider-Men are just jokes and constant retellings of Peter's stories while Miles is the super special one who can do his own thing"
>in reality all of them, Miguel, Jessica, Hobie, even Peter himself don't retell those stories and have their own characters and defining events or new takes the vast majority of the time
>Miles is actually the only one whose stories in the comics and adaptations have been mostly about retelling some Peter story (he got his uncle Ben moments, clone saga, symbiote saga, Gwen, Mephisto deal, "no more " moment, etc)
why are his balls just hanging?
Loev it when you can see a homies balls hanging from the back. You know he throws that shit back. Ready to be bred.
>even Peter himself don't retell those stories
You're a fricking liar Peter has had like 4 fricking clone arcs
Not in adaptations
Didn't the movie imply EVERY Spider-Man has a Gwen that dies in their arms? Isn't that really fricking silly and ridiculous? And if that's true then everyone being fine with Gwen and Miles is flirting is turbo fricked when they know she's supposed to die soon.
The answer is probably a mix of everything and it's gonna be kinda stupid. Like canon events are a thing, just not in the way we were informed about them, and that they are changeable but Miguel and his AI NEED enough versions of their vision of a canon Spider-Man for something we haven't learned about yet. It's gonna be something like 'when canon breaks too far in a reality, the writing of reality becomes unbelievable, so it destroys that universe... and it reboots it.' and then it's gonna be about if a Spider-Man (or anomaly) don't return that universe just keeps soft-resetting until it hits the point of the error and tries again.'
And then something about the multiverse and timeline and then the Spider-Men are going to use their literal webbing to metaphorically hold together the web of reality to avoid these 'plot holes' and keep worlds stable.
Gwen coming out as trans is a canon event :3
Is this some meme I haven't heard of yet? Because I've send an unusual amount of people talk about Gwen transitioning and even seen it on a few other sites. Why did this all start?
Unironic twitter trannies think Gwen is trans because the colors of her costume and the "Protect Trans Kids" flag in her room
>Why did this all start?
Gwen has a trans flag in her room and her color scheme is close enough people are calling it a trans color scheme. Twitter is being moronic about it as usual and here on Cinemaphile we have a mix of Cinemaphileomers that just want to wank off to Gwen having a dick and /misc/tards trying to re-up the buck breaking meme using Gwen. And I'm sure some people are just stirring the pot just for the fun of it all. It is worth noting that the board strokes, and only the broad strokes, of Gwens story can be seen as a coming out story. But only insomuch as every superheros double life can be read the same way.
Gwen is trans because it makes BLACKEDtards seethe
I mean, we're past the point of dire implications. Consider Pav. He thinks being Spider-Man is light and breezy, meaning he doesn't know shit about the scheduled deaths every Spidey has to go through. Otherwise, he'd have put two and two together and figured out his girlfriend and her dad could die at any moment.
But Gwen clearly knows this shit. Hobbie does too. They're both his friends, but they have apparently told him squat about it. Which, whether Miguel is right or not, is mega shitty of them.
The whole canon event shit is the sort of thing that can sound cool and clever when you have epic music and animation to enjoy, but not when have a couple of months to digest it before the next movie.
People just like spiderverse cuz it has blacks and a interesting animation style, that's it, the story sucks the characters suck the writing sucks
Think about the first movie, they all tell spiderman about how spiderman always has an uncle Ben moment. They literally all tell him who died to make them pivot into the hero roll. Your assuming the million spidermen in the movienwere like Indian and hadn't lost anyone yet. India didn't mention his family our uncle or parents so I would assume 6 months after being bit he lost his uncle or family already. Everyone in the spider society had already lost someone, you act like learning about miles through miles applies to every character You didn't see.
Do you think Peter invites Miguel for threeways with MJ?
Gwen invites Miguel for threesomes with Miles, he gets fricked by both of them, Miles loves white troony wiener and brown Mexican wiener
Peter invites Miguel over when MJ is away actually
Fujo cuck fantasy?
Mayday is actually Miguel’s baby
Mayday is too white so your theory is incorrect
Sure, but Miguel is too grumpy to take up Peter on his offer
theres still one, and i mean ONLY ONE way they could salvage this wreck, and even then its not gonna be 100% good.
>Miguel was the one who came up with the Spider Society, but there was someone else who helped him founding it... Doc. Ock/Superior Spiderman.
>he was the one who actually developed the dimension tech the SS uses, and the one who came up with the canon event theory.
>being aware that in a logical scenario, the Spiderpeople wouldnt be ok with this by a mile, he developed some minor brainwashing methods in the tech in order to ensure everyone accepts the theory as fact easily. using the info Miguel already had.
>the reasoning is that in order to create the best hero possible, Tragedy must always befell him no matter what, period. many of the Spiders he has met, including the peter whose body is using, and feels this is something to ensure the betterment of the multiverse at large.
>Having said that, Superior is still doing it because he REALLY believes is the right thing, and wont hold grudges against the spiders once they will kick his ass and possibly imprison him for a while.
again, this is shitty, but i think this is the only way this could save a literal infiniton of guys.
>the reasoning is that in order to create the best hero possible, Tragedy must always befell him no matter what, period. many of the Spiders he has met, including the peter whose body is using, already felt tragedy and made them better heroes, therefore he feels this is something to ensure the betterment of the multiverse at large.
dammit...
Slight problem with that: SSM is a e-girl in the Spiderverse canon
I want her to try and kill Spider-Man but accidentally call him cute then get all flustered and retreat despite winning their fight
YES
June 19
there were already many spiderguys with Tentacle arm gears in the chase scene. i doubt theres only one 'Reformed Doc Ock in Peter Parker's body using a tentacle gear'
also: do we know when the octoe-girl comic is gonna be released?
i never said it was gonna be perfect, but again, its better than to make EVERY SPIDER EVER nihilistic jaded morons who would chain up an innocent person because he wants to do the thing EVERY SPIDER EVER would want to do: to protect the life of a person they love.
>its better than to make EVERY SPIDER EVER nihilistic jaded morons who would chain up an innocent person because he wants to do the thing EVERY SPIDER EVER would want to do: to protect the life of a person they love.
The spidermen didn't know why they were chasing Miles, just that he was dangerous. Miguel had reason enough to take Miles in for being an anomaly, Miles deciding he was going to actively break canon was just another reason to prevent him from being a hero
even better, her childdish theory makes sense because she is a child.
>Basically make Miguel some controlbad guy to prove Miles Sue right.
Nah.
>controlling
i like it
Remember when your uncle died? When Capt Stacy died? When Gwen died? When I fricked your aunt?
IT WAS ME, PETER. The architect of all your pain!
This...could work.
A character who literally turned form villain to hero due to experiencing Peter's life first-hand could, conceivably, believe that those tragedies are the most powerful shaping force in a spider-man's life
This could also work well to draw a contrast between Otto and Miles as they both took over after the deaths of their respective Peter Parkers
I still hate it because it’s a “surprise twist” with almost no foreshadowing that still makes Miguel look like a moron, but I guess it can work
It's probably gonna be Morlun instead of Superior Spidey
>b-be gentle Miles, you know I love that BBC
why miles when Peter B Parker exists?
Kino to see a big aggressive himbo like Miguel get dommed by some small but hung nerd like Miles
>hung nerd
Oxymoron
Miles gets fricked in the ass by white a troony anyways
Oh so these are the people behind the Miguel spam, lmao Gwen being trans really made them go full gay
ftfy
Sorry Miles is for thick Latinos ONLY
>it ain't gonna suck itself miles 😉
>frick Miles, my big fat culo needs BBC
DAMN MIGGY THAT ASS IS PHAT AS FRICK!!! Back that bussy up boy!!
I recognize that bulge
>do you like what you see Miles???
>por favor niño, be gentle with this culito...
>make Spider-Man pointless
OR maybe the answer doesn't revolve around Spider-Man, Maybe, Miles tries to tell his dad that he's gonna die, and his dad says something like, "If I die on the job, that's not on fate or Spider-Man. I risk my life every day knowing that I'm risking it. It 's my choice to try and save someone, just like its Spider-Man's choice to go out there, frick off with your melodrama you little shit"
This anon is intro something, if miles father doesn't goes out on his terms saving someone teaching miles a lession or something
What the frick is going on in this thread.
Miles gays are now going full homosexual after Gwen came out as trans
Storyline for new movie doesn't make sense and makes other spider people look bad. This brings up the age old argument that Miles isn't a good comic book character that Cinemaphile's had the same argument forever.
Miles' supporters are coming to his rescue in response. Which is what always happens. Neither side wants to budge.
People have developed a strong thirst for Miguel.
The trans community has confused "bisexual lighting" and a trans flag for Gwen being trans, and are so desperate for representation much like the IT clown they're clinging to the flimiest evidence.
There's the thread. As for me, since they never resolved that one Spider-Man being lost in space and time from the 90's, IDGAF and am here to watch things burn. Care for popcorn?
>gwen is trans because..... someone on twitter said so
dumbshit
Really disappointed, I thought the first one was decent but this one was dogshit.
People are saying Gwen is trans because in the beginning of the movie when she has the confrontation with her dad, he is colored red white and blue and she is colored like the troony flag. I am not schizophrenic but during the entire movie Gwen's storyline is a little troony fantasy of persecution. The movie is basically picrel
Its a Spider-man film. Most of the characters are red white and blue. She's also one of the few Spider People with pink in her costume. If it was green, yeah, that would be an odd an notable color. These colors are not.
Is that a deep cut? What spider man was lost in space? Genuinely curious.
comfy shitposting, laughing at everything without a care in this world.
AYO Lemme suck on the boybreasts playa
>N-No Miles please enough!!!
>Mayday doesn't have Uncle Ben and Captain Stacy moments Slott doesn't count, shut up
>Miguel doesn't have Uncle Ben and Captain Stacy moments
Hmmm...
>Mayday doesn't have Uncle Ben and Captain Stacy moments
What was interesting in Mayday's case was how she actually was brought up on Peter's creed. Think about it. If Pete was gonna make sure his kid learned any one single lesson you know exactly what it would be. So when Mayday discovered her powers, there's no other way she would reasonably act. She never had the chip on her shoulder Pete did. Her MOMENT was not when someone died. But when someone was saved. Which weirdly enough ended up being an Osborn. This was her heroic trigger. Pete learned when you don't act people die. She learned when you do they can be saved.
damn she's thicc
Holy fricking based, though mayday should suffer in her stories a bit
>though mayday should suffer in her stories a bit
She does. Constantly. Her friends distance themselves from her and she often has to make hard choices like standing with a dirty mutie or her life long friends as one example and the series is full of stuff like that. This is what Parker luck is supposed to be like.
Oh right, I forgot honesty. For some reason I thought she had it easier than Peter and only had to worry about getting killed a few times
hasn't it only been like a year in-between Miguel making the Society around the end of ITSV and this movie?
Or Miles managed to save his dad but miles dies in the process after being devoured by one of Spot's spots.
Does Tyrannosaurus Rex Spider-Man have a dinosaur police captain friend die in battle?
Does Sentient Dune Buggy Spider-Man have a "Spider-Man No More" moment?
I cannot believe Cinemaphile is the only place I've seen that realizes how moronic this whole canon events thing is. Every other website comment section is just slurping this shit up, talking about how "epic" it is.
>Does Tyrannosaurus Rex Spider-Man have a dinosaur police captain friend die in battle?
Yes, it was a Triceratops
Nooooooo :~~*
The dino watches another dino die and the mechanic that made the dune buggy died. Maybe read actual comics instead of posting your moronic for everyone to see.
canon events can be changed instead of stopping or letting them happen. Gwen already figured it out.
the only reason the spiders are in on the cult is because they already went through the worst or can't risk the good things like Peter with Mayday and Jess's baby.
Still no Miguel Culo Edit?
Give him pic related as a suit and the Prowler's gadgets and invisibility in conjunction with regular spider powers. Call him The Crawler. There, I just fixed Miles.
It's too late for that though, so buck breaking him is the next best thing.
>The Crawler.
>the Crawler
I see the vision anon, make Miles unique a not Spider-Man
I'd prefer if he had a mix of Prowler and Spidey aesthetics, really wish he kept wearing the street clothes like the hoodie and the Jordans as part of his suit, unironically helps him stand out more
>really wish he kept wearing the street clothes like the hoodie and the Jordans as part of his suit, unironically helps him stand out more
Why the frick did they drop that costume? Wasn't the whole point that Miles is gonna be his own hero? Shit like this is what pisses me off most
I'm mad too.
I liked the design so much because it gave Miles a distinct silhouette, the way Noir has his hat, or Gwen has her hood.
Even the PS5 Miles Morales game had the sense to give one of the suits a jacket, pants and sneaker combo (wish it had the shorts).
Especially with the green jacket, it does a lot to accentuate the black and red of his outfit and have something to ruffle when he's moving fast through the city.
Honesty I’m glad he doesn’t use it, for one it’s too impractical and is too close to his actual clothes he wears, and 2, the suit he has honesty looks cool. The grafiti logo helps him stand out anyways
>Dragging a good name through the mud like that
For shame anon
Nah Miles can have it, I think that dudes name is the Cruller
Cringe as hell
Why not the prowling spider-man?
>Miles 1610 saves his dad and defeats Spot but sacrifices himself in the process
>before dying, he passes on the mantle of Spidey to Miles 42
>Miguel disbands the spider society and becomes 1610s new spidey in memory of Miles
Would this work?
>people over-analyzing canon events this much
Whenever the primary character runs into copies/duplicates/clones, the primary character (ie the one on the cover) is always stronger, better, faster, smarter, and the most morally correct. This how you get shit about characters killing of their entire universe as a common side story, because it's a pretty common comic book thing. Dunno why you guys are acting like this is some travesty, shit's been done forever, and of course they "I want to save everybody and accept no compromises" do-gooder is going to triumph.
It's also capeshit, not post-modern literature or greek classical. Of course morals will be simplified and dumbed down, half the shit is just there to sell toys.
it IS a travesty, because everyone who has read at least ONE spiderman comic would know NOT A SINGLE SPIDERMAN, whatever the name, is not gonna stand for letting people die.
the fact that every spiderman that has ever existed is actually ok with killing people is unholy.
>nooo, my hero would never kill people
That's long gone, specially with nu-marvel, where captain america and iron man slaughter by the dozens while throwing out quips
They're not the hero, Morales is, which is why he's got the most screentime--he's the naive, idealistic do-gooder that will teach them all what being a true spooderman is.
Face it, your feelings won't change a thing, the toys will sell like crazy
>They're not the hero, Morales is, which is why he's got the most screentime--he's the naive, idealistic do-gooder that will teach them all what being a true spooderman is.
And many of us here think that using him to taught that to other Spiderman that already know that is dumb
>They're not the hero, Morales is, which is why he's got the most screentime--he's the naive, idealistic do-gooder that will teach them all what being a true spooderman is.
Which is literally the reason why people didn't like Miles all this time, imagine if Miles started executing civilians with a gun in the next movie so Spider-Boy could teach him the true meaning of being Spider-Man, Miles as a narrative concept is irredeemable ass
Because it character assassinates countless other pre-established versions of Spider-Man. These aren't just faceless/generic copies/duplicates/clones, these are meant to be the literal, canonical versions of Unlimited, Spectacular, 60s, etc Spider-Man. The choice Miles makes is the most quintessentially "Spider-Man" option, it's the one that any version of Peter Parker worth their weight would have made. But instead, millions upon millions of alternate versions of Spider-Man are all made out to be out-of-character just so Miles can look better.
And it will all get reset when they do a new run of whatever spiderman you envision and they have no idea who miguel is or the spiderverse or who spot is.
It's a comic meant to sell toys by telling the same story over and over, with some basic morality attached.
you will never be an adult.
Probably fricking not, but the answer is really simple
The cool canonical spiderman all exist in their own little bubble.
There is a seperate bubble, which I will call the moralesverse bubble, where all canonical spidermen have a copy, but their copies are stupider and compromise, because they're not morales, the guy on the poster.
It doesn't assassinate anything having them be cool with canon events, because they're a challenge posed to this morales in this bubble only.
I swear to frick, you homosexuals think the multiverse imparts more meaning to shit when all it does is just cheapen shit up because there's another multiverse where things never happened and everything is a-ok
but they happened. theres no reason for well known heroes to compromise and letting people die, theres no reason for the team that made the first movie so beloved these jaded buttholes who utterly betrayed the person who saved them from literal extinction, theres no reason to hear a highly beloved version of the character to say something so contrary to what he would actually do.
theres no reason for this fricking movie, period. and its fricking stupid that theres idiots like (you) defending it on the grounds that 'you are such children'
>there's no reason for this fricking movie period
This is is going to blow your mind, but capeshit is made for one very specific purpose.
To sell toys and merchandise. They attach a basic "these are good guys!" story so parents forget that 99% of capeshit is beating the other guy up until they give in, and feckless homosexuals like you overanalyze shit, like batman letting joker live, when really, they do that so they can re-use recognizable charactera for the sales boost.
Your capeshit morality is basic b***h beans, at best. Don't pretend it's some 5-star gourmet course, even Dredd does morality better than capeshit and that guy's a monster.
Sony doesn't have toy/merch rights
I mean, I will certainly ignore the whole "Canon Event" Spider-Society bullshit when it comes to other Spider-Man media going forward. That still doesn't stop the whole notion of the thing from being sacrilegious and character assassination.
It's going to end with Miles finding a loophole, probably by stopping his dad from becoming captain.
troony jannies keep deleting Gwen threads, wtf!
>Miguel randomly decides to hit the gym in-between movies and gains 100 pounds of muscle
>in ITSV's Japanese dub post-credits scene Seki does his normal everyman voice but in ATSV he now does a comically deep tone to reflect new buff Miguel
Not that anyone except me would care about this but kek
I think it's implied it's a different Miguel
He mentions in the film that he just so happens to find a universe where he has a family but the real him died?
Bullshit Miguel went there and killed him and took over that universe - that was the catoclysm event that caused it to unravel
The watches will probably merge a bunch of timilelines and be used to make singular canon happen so that he can have his family life he wanted
I would fricking hate that since that makes the Miguel we’re following super unlikable
Even in English he sounds like two completely different people between the two movies. In the first movie he sounds more like Tony Starrk whereas in the second he sounds like Hispanic Arnold
The only way I think they can salvage it is if it turns out Lyla went yandere and has been manipulating Miguel
they're just going to add the power of retconning via spot and fix everything and remove the web of canonicity freeing the spider-people from Fate and letting them be free heroes.
I really do agree with the sentiment that SpOck would've made more sense as the main antagonist than Miguel.
There's still time to have SpOck be behind everything and it'd probably salvage a good chunk of this shit.
The main villain is going to be a multiversal Osborn with spider powers and you will accept it.
It's one of those stories that was written by someone who is stupid enough to obsess with cliches in comics and not mature enough to appreciate them or think of something that isnt about b***hing about those cliches.
See comic donut boys like Whedon, Kevin Smith, or Slott. They're idiots that consumed so much media without growing mentally so all they can do is gripe about the cliches that define their lives.
baby mad?
Miles gets a prolapse from a white troony which breaks the cycles and saves his dad.
Miles is literally the embodiment of having your cake and eating it
There's even a reference to how this will go down in the movies
>You can't have your cake and eat it
>Not unless you have two cakes
What does miles have? Two universes one were he ended up the prowler and another where he became spider man - but in the prowler universe he was supposed to become spider man and visa versa
Mile's dad already died in his real canon event so he can save his real dad and be fine
>Not unless you have two cakes
This is immediately followed up with Miles ruining two cakes because he tried to please everyone
And then you have to keep in mind the canon events shit exists on top of all the other multiverse rules from the MCU, since it's confirmed to be in the same multiverse. Timeline branches and incursions and absolute points and all that shit
>corner they wrote themselves
that was no mistake. they WANT Miles to be the most special in the Multiverse.
>So if Kingpin had never done the collider shit, Earth 42 Spider would have bitten Earth 42 Miles, and he wouldn't have become the Prowler. Also Main Movie Miles killed the Spider when he smacked it.
Oops.
So close.
They are gonna redeem him, right?
They better redeem themselves and give back Miguel his bigger ass.
Redeeming seems more like Pavitr's thing
yes, they're setting him up to be an anti-hero Prowler like the main comics one
Don't be so sure that Earth 42 Spider-Man would have been Miles. I'm counting on some bullshit twist where someone nobody would have expected turns out to be Earth 42's intended Spider-Man.
>Don't be so sure that Earth 42 Spider-Man would have been Miles. I'm counting on some bullshit twist where someone nobody would have expected turns out to be Earth 42's intended Spider-Man.
My dark horse bet is it was supposed to his Dad?
I feel like 'the canon' is Miguel coping because he stole an alt versions life and couldn't benefit from it.
Second half of that movie is /trash/
I am enjoying family conflict drama
>Interrupting canon events does disrupt reality and make everything worse
>the spider group have a device that stabilizes their realities but it doesn't always work
>Miles with his knowledge of advanced science figures out a way to make it so that it always works and never fails.
>the spider society now can travel between dimensions and save each other from having to suffer big losses, leading every spiderman to have a happy fulfilling life while also saving people
>Miguel and Miles shake hands
There, not even that complicated.
So uh did people cheer when he referenced No Way Home?
This thread showed me that Miguel's fatass is the only saving grace of this movie. Black folk
frick Spiderbuck this is now a Thiccquel O 'Bara thread
>*notices ur bulge*
Is he looking at Gwen?
>the metaphysics of the universe are moronic and make Spider-Man pointless
This has been a reality ever since moronic concepts like time travel appeared in the Marvel Universe. The fact is that being any hero in the Marvel Universe is pointless.
I do feel like the 3rd movie may end up with Gwen dead with her falling in love with Miles and multiverse in a way correcting itself. Gwen's dad doesn't die because now she is not Spiderman and instead she is Gwen who falls in love with Spider Man which would be a grim throwback to "I am one and only Spiderman" that Miles repeats. He is Spider Man and so he will suffer like one. The canon may be that events can be changed, but the constant theme cannot be.
And this theme is that Spider man no matter what will suffer a tragedy that he has to carry with him so he can be the best hero he can possibly be. He is a hero pushing against adversity, he is someone who will do the right thing no matter what and how much the universe tries to bring him down. That is the canon that will happen no matter what. Spider Man cannot run from suffering and that is why Miguel was punished. He tried to run. Miles will try to and he will fail, but unlike Miguel he cannot be brought down by this fear and instead live with it.
>Gwen shows up at your place completely unannounced and asks to hang out
>half hour into piza and chill with Gwen and she just casually pulls her dick out.
>Doesn't say anything, just keeps eating the piza
Wat do?
Swordfight for the last slice.
It’s actually poetic how the movie is right in that Miles on a meta level IS an anatomy who ruins everything, but they would rather suck Miles’ dick at the cost of everyone else
I can't tell what level of irony we're on, do people actually think Gwen is trans from the flag in her room, or is this just Cinemaphile shitposting
Gwen is 100% a troony
The symbolism is relatable to trans people, plus Cinemaphile loves to coom.
>then every Spider-Man is a dumbass for believing him
I see it as more of them feeling better about the guilt of not being able to save people if they're told that there's some multi-versal rule that says they'd die no matter what.
Moreover, I think Miguel will end up being correct but not because the multi-verse has some hard-set obligations but that the people in Spiderman's life will act the way they do no matter what, which puts their lives in peril.
Uncle Ben dies not just because Peter lets his would-be killer go but also because Ben tries to defend Aunt May at home/stop a criminal (depending on the version of the story).
I think back to the third Raimi film and how they create this moment where Ben's death is almost an accident, more created by his insistence to help someone instead of just walking away and cutting his losses.
I think that's the reconstruction of the Spider Man Mythos they're going for: it's not about the trauma you suffer from a loved one's loss but the love that that person showed in the first place that makes you know right from wrong.
It's the effects of people's lives, not their deaths, that make you who you are.
I think Miles' dad won't be killed by Spot but by someone else entirely, some moment when Jefferson tries to protect someone else later. And Miles (and everyone else) will remember that it's not someone's death that defines their legacy but how they lived. Uncle Ben's legacy for Peter shouldn't be the guilt he feels but knowing that his Uncle tried to protect people, even to his last breath.
You’re looking more into it than the writers did
Maybe
I'm just hoping for a Rebuild Spiderman where they redeem the ideas they're criticizing in the final act and re-examine why they what makes them good and worth keeping around
But they won’t, they already said that the whole idea of the movie was to affirm that miles is the ONLY important spider, hence why they actively brought back voice actors to ruin their peters in canon
I thought they said it was to dunk on fans who said he wasn't spider-man?
did they character assassinate my homie Miguel?
He's the only Spiderman that isn't funny
Just have it be one giant prank on miles all orchestrated by his dad.
We need more giant prank endings
I don't think these homies are joking with this gay shit anymore.
No one is laughing or kekking
>implying that the guy who invented multiversal travel and knows more about it than Miles is wrong.
>then every Spider-Man is a dumbass for believing him and allowing innocent people to die
Think about it this way: You're a Spider-Man, suddenly you're drafted into a council of thousands and thousands of other Spider-men.
Then, the leader of the council does something stupid and you have to try your hardest to save people in a dying reality.
People here simply choose to forget that when Miguel killed a universe, there were other spiders there trying to save it. They're literally just being logical about it
Yeah, maybe Miguel is wrong, but would you risk an entire universe to test that theory? We had 2 instances of him being right on screen
The writers know what Spider-Man would've done in that situation, they have Miles do it
>The writers know what Spider-Man would've done in that situation, they have Miles do it
Yeah homie, IF Parker got there without any other knowledge of the situation he would've done this
The other Spider-men didn't just get there like Miles, they've actually SEEN universes die. I mean, we see it 2 times, they probably saw it happen more than that
There's literally no reason not to trust Miguel on this if you KNOW what can happen
Again: It's stupid to try and gamble an entire universe on this when you've seen the consequences
Nah they saw the same thing Miles did
Watch it again. There are multiple Spider-men trying to save people when Miguel destroys a universe. Peter B Parker is one of them
They have equipment to try and stop it but it's only if they're lucky with it, that shows they know more than Miles about it, even if it's a small amount
Miles literally just got there, he saved someone and saw a black hole. He just saw gwen a few hours ago, so his mind obviously goes to Spot. The others know better because they've been there longer and have seen this shit happen before
It's not that hard to understand this dude, I'm legitimately starting to think you people are just too low-iq for a kids movie
They wouldn't gamble a universe on a theory
Miles would and the movie makes him out to be the hero
>Miles would and the movie makes him out to be the hero
It doesn't paint any of the Spideys as black or white.
Miles is shown to be wrong by the info we've seen, but he's being emotional so we sympathize with him, while Miguel appears to be in the right, but is being a complete fricking butthole about it, so we don't sympathize with him
It's honestly quite simple
So when he say "Nah, I'mma do my own thing", the audience is supposed to see that and think "what a morally grey and ambiguous statement" and spare a moment to think about Miguel's arguments?
No you Black person you're supposed to see a fricking 15 year old being emotional and trying to save his dad without thinking of the consequences. We see the consequences and later on we see that it *can* be changed, but literally nobody knows this except for maybe Gwen, and that was after the whole chase
Miguel is not a villain and is not shown as such, he's just being an butthole
Remember when Hobie says "That's a good look" when Miguel traps Miles? It's not about Miles being the hero, just Miguel being unreasonable when dealing with a teenager.
Seriously, it's not that deep if you don't have aspergers
We don't know if 1610 Pete actually went through that event, and considering he went through Uncle Ben and Miles still went through it with Aaron, the canon events aren't tied just to the universe but also to each spidey
Then why frame Miles as the hero and Miguel as a strawman villain?
They don't
This is not about BadxGood here
Miguel is rough and an butthole, but is clearly shown to come from a logical standpoint. He wants to save people, and trading one life for an entire universe is unthinkable for him because he already was responsible for destroying a universe before and basically losing his family again. From what he knows and what is shown to us, he's absolutely in the right, there's no contest here. He has good intentions but he's an butthole about it.
The other spideys follow him because they also know what can happen and are not willing to gamble it on the possibility of it being wrong.
Miles just got there, he's an emotional teenager that was messing up with his family not even a day before this, and then he suddenly discovers his dad is going to die. A dad he fought with and feels he let down during the last time they saw each other. He's not being shown as a hero, he's just the main character.
>what would the main villain of the movie being a version of Spider-Man that died and got fricking posessed by Doctor Octopus bring to the movie's themes at all?
This right here.
Then why did the movie frame it as bad x good, directors literally came out and said Miguel is a stand in for the fans who didn't like Miles and that they dunked on him in the movie as a way of dunking on those fans
Jokes on them considering people still like Miguel more than Miles
Is spider-man being molested canon?
Did they ever find the body after what Ben and May did to Skip?
No. They used the Ultimate Nullifier and wiped him from the timeline
Miles can save his dad by telling him to quit his job. Gwen knows this after her dad stepped down and realising it would work, she just needs to go to world 42 and find him and tell him that. Not sure why she assembled a team.
>Not sure why she assembled a team.
Because Miguel assembled a team to take out Miles
>Not sure why she assembled a team.
She has Miguel and every other spider-person trying to stop her. Given how steadfast Miguel has been so far I really don't think he'll stop if he's told "actually they can just quit!" If anything he'd be seething about being wrong the whole time
>Spider-Man must be -dad! It's a universal constant!
>But what about the black Spider-Man?
>W-what?
>Blacks are already -dad. -dad*-dad=dad
>No... NO!
Blacks are already bucks broken by white troony wiener
The answer is always that Miles is a Gary Stu & this writing ruins the entire multiverse of Spider-men.
Which spider man has it the hardest and which one has it the easiest?
Gwen has the hardest wiener you've ever seen!
>easiest
The Spider-Man from that baby show on Disney Jr
>hardest
Zombie Spider-Man
This movie's plot is a mess
The memes have been great though
This shit has gotten so bad and intriguing that I actually want to get into this Spiderman shit now.
Where do I start?
I've seen the Raimi movies.
Tried to watch the first Amazing Spiderman movie but I couldn't.
Likewise with Spiderverse.
Comic reccs or w/e?
Prowler Milesnis the only version of Miles I actually like since he's original and not a forced minority legacy
Read superior spider-man despite what anyone else here says.
Only homosexuals like superior Spider-Man
I am a homosexual, then. Give me midget pussy
MCU Spidey movies are pretty good, Holland leans more towards a better Peter than Spidey but he's supposed to be a newer Spider-Man with less than a year of experience.
You can skip the Amazing movies, really. Sony couldn't keep the fire of the Rami films going, so they settled for Spider-Man films without Spider-Man, for some reason.
Classic comic run by Lee/Ditko are great, corny in that old timey way but great way to get the fundamentals. Ultimate Spider-Man was a great run, Bendis being Bendis notwithstanding, it's a great way for more modern readers to get into the story, plus it's where Miles debuted if you want to get that story's original run. Superior Spider-Man was hit or miss imo but it had it's moments.
>MCU Spidey movies are pretty good, Holland leans more towards a better Peter than Spidey but he's supposed to be a newer Spider-Man with less than a year of experience.
They're not and he doesn't. He's NOTHING like Peter. Peter wasn't some homosexual little twink who liked geek culture. He was a full on science nerd with a massive chip on his shoulder. Frankly NONE of the movie Peters have ever gotten this right but Holland is probably one of the worst just for being such a little toady. If movie Peter was anything like comic Peter he would have called all the Avengers buttholes and picked a fight as a job interview before fricking off.
Literally just start with the Lee/Ditko run and go from there
The real question is when you should stop. I don't read anything after the Clone Saga myself.
I think that's a fair jumping off point, flows straight into Spider-Girl too
When I saw the “british” Spider-Man I was kinda relieved, and just a few seconds before he pulled his mask off and I saw the ducking big as Afro I was thinking there’s no way right?
I really don’t know why the writers chose to make Miguel the main antagonist when Otto was a better choice. Miguel just insisting that every Spider-Man has to follow his regime, go against their code of ethics that makes them who they are, and violently capture anyone who rebels makes no sense because that’s the exact thing he fights against
Miguel makes them seethe because he's everything Miles isn't, they basically swapped histories for the movie implying Miguel lived through everything Peter did (he didn't) and Miles didn't (he did)
>butcher the character of the cooler alternative spider-man to make miles look better in comparison
>normies still prefer miguel
How do they mess up this bad
Everyone saying the antagonist should have been SpOck is blind to how fricking stupid the concept of SpOck sounds to most people. Like there's references in background characters but it was already kind of stupid when it happened on the comics, what would the main villain of the movie being a version of Spider-Man that died and got fricking posessed by Doctor Octopus bring to the movie's themes at all? Even if you like SSM he's just not a good fit unless you just want to justify how controlling Miguel acts, which is missing the forest for the trees in his characterization. Miguel works because he mirrors Miles. Most of the things he accuses Miles of he's also guilty of, assuming he's at all like the comic version; he's not even his universe's original Spider-Man, he himself didn't go through any version of several canon events including getting his powers from a spider etc.
>Everyone saying the antagonist should have been SpOck is blind to how fricking stupid the concept of SpOck sounds to most people
The first film had a cartoon pig, an anime girl with a mech, and a parodic noir Spider-Man. If the audience for these films can accept and go along with that (as well as all the other wacky spider-men in the sequel) then Otto taking over Peter’s body isn’t as far of a stretch in comparison
>Miguel works because he mirrors Miles. Most of the things he accuses Miles of he's also guilty of
Otto is also guilty of these as well. He didn’t have any of the canon events or was bit by a spider either, he just experienced Peter’s memories without having to physically live them out himself. Otto assuming that these specific events are what makes Spider-Man who he is and having all the other spider people live through them to the tee makes more sense than having Miguel fill that role. Plus Otto works as a foil to Miles because he’s (in the physical sense) literally Peter and trying to live out his life to fulfill the mantle while Miles is “doing his own thing”
Miles' universe already had a Spider-Man undergo all the canon events (Peter. A) so unless it's supposed to happen every time each separate spider-person shows up there's no reason for his dad to die. It would be a pretty thematically weak solution through
People get sucked into shitty ideology based on experience, emotional reasons, and weird applications of ethics/principles all the time. With how both Spider-men and Miles' are, especially considering the last movie, it makes sense why the Spider Society and Miles do what they do.
(samegay)
Miles is already an especially rebellious spirit, as compared to how reserved Partjker is.
The way this was presented was just so asinine and dragged out the last two thirds of the movie from the actual conflict with Spot. It would've been far better if it was upfront with Miguel being a conflicting antagonist trying to merc Miles for being an antagonist forcing him across dimensions to run with his own personal Spider-Hitmen vs Miles and his allies.
I thought "Canon events" were just strictly non interference from Multiverse BS? Like say
>Oh a Werewolf Spider-Man is fighting Frankenstein Electro business as usual
>But oh no, a portal opens and the story is interrupted by anime Venom and kills Frankenstein Electro and glitches out and dies
>Whoops due to that event, the universe collapses and everything dies.
You can save your Captain or Not have a dead aunt/Uncle, but it must not be because a portal opened up and let Viking Spider-Man help you out
Then why explain it to Miles and then try to stop him instead of just chucking him back home without interference
Miles had already glimpsed his canon event of his dad dying in his encounter with The Spot. If they sent him back with no explanation he'd 100% try to stop it. At least with the explanation he'd understand why they can't send him back
>Miles had already glimpsed his canon event of his dad dying in his encounter with The Spot.
But that was the natural order of things, this asspulled future vision was part of Miles' universe non-interfered progression
>If they sent him back with no explanation he'd 100% try to stop it.
He'd try to stop it either way, he'd fail since there'd be no outside interference, telling him only strengthened his resolve and got people not from his universe to side with him
>this asspulled future vision was part of Miles' universe non-interfered progression
Not necessarily, since it came from multiverse screwing shenanigans in the first place. There's no guarantee either way that he was meant to see it. Technically The Spot was meant to jump between universes to power up and then come back, Miles only had the vision because Gwent interfered and let him come fight The Spot in a place Miles shouldn't have been.
>He'd try to stop it either way
They didn't know that. By explaining it they were appealing to reason. Otherwise their options were send him back without explanation and hope he doesn't act on his vision or lock him up but this time not explain anything. From their point of view if they're going to force him to stay there they may as well explain things to him.
>out of everything involved in Spot's multiverse clusterfrick, the only thing that poses a threat to the multiverse according to the spider-society is.. Miles saving his dad
I can see how the WW1984 writer worked on this
With the exceptions of Pavitr and Miles it seems the canon events would all have naturally occurred without interference. They seem like key points they happen without interference but with all the multiverse stuff going on they have to ensure these events will happen in spite of all the interference
I don't understand why they don't just stop with all the dimension hopping
The issue is things are entering from other dimensions so everyone needs to be dimension hopping to set things straight. I kinda feel the film would be better if rather than the whole canon event thing which is a little silly (parts of your life become pre-destined if you put "Spider" in your superhero name?) they went with "Miles is the original anomaly so we have to kill him to stabilise things" which makes more sense to me
I find it fricking weird how Miles is the first one to rebel from the spider cult instead of Hobie, the spider fricking punk.
Robbie was smart enough to know how to exploit them and only quit when they were about to hunt Miles.
the rest already went through their sad moments, miles wasnt invited only because he's an actual anomaly
i'm so fricking sick of rick and morty garbage popping up in every multiverse story ever
>my universe sucked so i found a universe that doesn't suck and stole it
this is such an insane thought to ever have and its been the linch pin of dr strange 2 and across the spider-verse. like you wouldn't actually do this shit and yet it's supposed to be the most natural thought process according to rick and morty writers and its in EVERY fricking dimension hopping story.
>like you wouldn't actually do this shit
What? If in an alternative universe I was a chad millionaire fricking b***hes everyday I would not bat an eye replacing that fricker.
Wanting to escape to a better life is a natural human desire to have. People migrate, they break up and leave their families, quit their jobs and have mid-life crisis. It's a low-hanging fruit to go for when dealing with multiverses and it's obviously depicted as something negative (running away) which is why the anatgonist does it.
If you can't emphatize with the thought of starting over somewhere or at the very least pondering the possibilities, else you're unironically an NPC.
Wanting to escape to a different place is something anyone could empathize with. Wanting to escape to a different place with alternate versions of your family and masquerading as their counterpart is fricking deranged. Before Rick and Morty, finding alternate versions of your loved ones that aren't YOUR loved ones was considered horrific. It's the shoe that drops on the fantasy of escaping your problems in another world.
>i'm so fricking sick of rick and morty garbage popping up in every multiverse story ever
Funny you bring that up.
it's not the craziest to believe.
for people that have no one left/lost everything probably would swap if they were some super successful person in another timeline. Although it would be moronic if you were semi-successful and you would probably just make a council of yourself and work together to flex on your foes.
odds are if you do swap you would frick it up somehow, plus if such a thing would happen there is nothing stopping another poor moronic version of yourself swapping with you and you being outright worse off.
infact i would argue most reincarnation stories follow that line of thought although its uncontrolled swapping.
>some moron reincarnates as someone else that has way higher potential, or a powersystem like magic, chi, etc appears
>they enter the grindset with a new body or some moronic system appears, or maybe just be a gary stu their way to the top
so anytime anyone dreams/wants an isekai or reincarnation are essentially doing exactly that.
does anyone else find it weird how spiderverse villains actually go for the kill? gwen seems like she would've easily died from vulture, I'd say most villains shown appear to almost overpower and kill them to the point im suprised the spiders even lasted that long
That's not weird at all? Most spider-man villains want to straight up kill spider-man.
im just surprised they lasted that long in these spiderverse movies, gwen would've died easily without miguels help and we already saw one spiderman die in the previous movie
Didn't Miles already have his canon event with his uncle? Am I to believe he's going to have ANOTHER canon event with his dad?
Yes, the writers want to, ironically, have their cake and eat it too, by building up Miles through aping Peter's iconic events, then going "nuh-uh Miles is original! look he doesn't have to go through uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the death of captain!!!"
They don't get just one canon event. Did you even watch the movie?
Miles' Uncle is his UNCLE BENNNNNN moment
His dad's death is 'The Death of Captain Stacey' moment.
There are a lot of canon events in the Spiderman comics. Evet notice how every Spiderman has a Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus? Those are canon events. There's a shitton of things every Spiderman comic has in common. Those are canon events
Her and Miguel were the only good things in this movie
Pinche Black
>Miles that BBC hits different
Black pipian
Is there a full collection of canon events?
What happens after all the events happen, will the respective spider-man finally be free?
They show Spider-Man No More, If This be my Destiny, and getting married to MJ. Uncle Ben and Captain Stacy dying are canon as well. That's about it.
Why was Peter B. in the universe where Miguel replaced his happy self? It had to have happened in the year and four months since ITSV so what was the original purpose of the Spider-Society? Or were they just hanging out randomly and the universe just happened to collapse?
My guess is
>Miguel gives dimension watches to the first handful of spider-men he meets from other universes and gets to know them (including Peter B)
>He tries to replace his dead self in the other universe
>When that universe starts to crumble, he calls Peter B for help with saving everyone
If that's the case then Miguel really is an idiot. You'd think he'd contact the smartest Spider-Men first. Peter B. is fun but a frick up and barely getting by it seems.
Peter B. is one of the most successful Spider-Men by virtue of having survived as long as he has while also actually finding happiness with MJ
The writers literally said he’s called Peter B because it stands for B lister, since he’s supposed to be worse than Blonde Peter.
But the whole point is that being "perfect" isn't what makes Spider-Man Spider-Man. It's the ability to get back up no matter how hard you get hit.
It took Miles to make him realize that, so he sucks.
Isn't his happiness an anomaly? He only made up with MJ because he met Miles.
Would Miguel lose his shit over Paul?
>Mary Jane not only cucks Peter, but she does it with someone from another universe entirely
The canon event thing is, far as I can tell, a criticism of comic writers refusing to actually change things up in a meaningful way. The same shit happens in every single run. Peter Parker's life MUST suck balls, he cannot have happiness for even five minutes, and the universe itself will warp to ensure that. Hell, other people will suffer for it, i.e. Kamala Khan fricking dying in a Spider-Man comic for HIS character development (and presumably to later resurrect her as yet another stupid fricking mutant).
It's not, they outright said it's about fans demanding everything be the same every time
Which is funny because that’s actually editorial, but those propagandists are so far up their own asses that they don’t know what to do besides tell the world what they are
>a criticism of comic writers
actually criticism to the toxic gamercomicgate fanbase wanting Spiderman to suffer. Look how the sales tanked when Peter got abit happy.
What? During the JMS run, when Peter and MJ reunited to actually be a happy couple and Peter got a job he didn't hate, sales tripled.
It seemed more like an acknowledgement of the mythos Spidey's built up for 60 years
People haven't been talking about the Symbiote being shown as a Canon Event during Miguel's explanation, there's also the fact that even if it's just a meta reference, there's no way in hell Miguel doesn't have a log of Event ASM #121
George's death was important, but Gwen is iconic to comic books, why didn't they acknowledge that beyond Gwen mentioning that falling for Spider-Man never goes well for her?
Words
I hate bringing MCU shit to these threads but i keep thinking about this
Miguel fully believes in this canon event bullshit and he also mentioned the events of no way home
does that mean that all the shit MCU spider.man did to fix the bad guys from the other movies is a non canon event and miguel is at the very least trying to find a way to reverse the things MCU spider-man did
>canon becomes a meaningless word
Why does hollywood make everything meaningless ? And to think it will win all the awards. People have no taste
Dumb normalgays love to feel like they're "in the know", they see the one note Ben Reilly parody and think "wooow it's just like in the comics, it feels like I actually read them without the effort or embarrassment"
What bothers me are the hackneyed plot devices and how the story is plotted. FLCL is a coming of age story but they have done it in such a way that it feels unique. After so much good stuff that has been released people lower their standards for big budget hollywood trash
are they running shilling efforts at Sony? i'm seeing people make huge posts on youtube, tiktok, twitter, here about this film right down to the little plot details of this movie and trying to make memes out of them
it feels so artificial
also sony are gay
>literally 2 seconds after seeing Jessica Drew who does nothing especially noteworthy considering this is a superhero universe, apart from giving a fetus whiplash
>Gwen is so floored by her awesomeness she asks Jessica to adopt her, weird choice of joke since at this point Gwen is still living with a loving dad
What an utterly awkward way to try to get the audience to artificially like a new character. At least Hobie is oozing with a unique style/personality and Miles has seen him in action for a decent amount before going "Wow you're so fricking cool"
Black Gerry is probably dead
Is being a Mets fan a canon event?
not while the Gigazoomer is at the Angels
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CkfMeGg82q4
Yes.
>Black pregnant spider-woman
Why
because ESG and diversity grants.
Miguel is going to get proven right, and Miles is going to get his universe killed, which leads him to live in Peter B's universe for now on, like in the comics.
Does anyone think Miguel is the sexiest Spider-man?
Counterpoint
Miguel is a fricking lunatic that pulled a Rick and Morty and making him the leader at all already makes every other Spider-Person an idiot.
Look at this. Look at what he did to Peni. This is what happens when you take a Spider-Person, who is a boiling broth of guilt already, and tell them "We know these people are going to die, but we can't save them and we can't even try. Now let's watch them die."
Miguel's entire philosophy is POISONING the Spider-People. The point of "Sometimes you can't save everyone" from the first movie wasn't "Shit happens, it's inevitable, everything is decay," it's "Shit happens, but we can try to save everyone."
Miguel's entire philosophy is fatalism, which is anathema to the idea of responsibility. It's why every Spider-Person close to Miguel has fricking depression.
It’s not Miguel, it’s just a petty way for the writers to mock people, and paint them as this insane extremist strawman, while also character assassinating Miguel and the other Spider-Men.
>"We have so many ideas for Spider cameos for two more movies!"
>"What about the plot?"
>"...uh..."
Personally the plot of Miles is perfectly fine imo. The struggle between being a superhero and living up to his parents is classic spidey. The scene where his mother encourages him is really good, for example.
Unironically what breaks the plot is the multiverse bullshit. Making the plot the bad guy in some sort of 4th wall break is absurd, and utilizing all the Spidermen as goons is disgraceful.
I massively dislike Gwen's arc too, but that's subjective.
>The struggle between being a superhero and living up to his parents is classic spidey.
That's the problem, why did you make a new one if all you'll do with him is classic spidey shit. At least if Miguel was the lead you could have him killing homies which Peter would never do.
Miguel says he replaced another Miguel. Not only did he irresponsibly doom two realities, by itself it's suspicious as frick that was able to move to another reality to begin with, but also why did he need to and why did he choose to? If we are to believe his ramblings about "canon" then it's a constant that all Spider-Men have friends, family, fall in love and form their own family in time. So why would he abandon them?
On the other hand we see that the spider was supposed to bite Earth-42 Miles Morales but instead bit Earth-1610 one. Since that event didn't immediately end both realities, and we saw that Miles' involvement with other Spider-Men changed their lives; we already know that events can change.
This is a kid's movie, so the plot is probably going to be something like "Miles is an anomaly and only he can change fate." Does that make him kind of a Gary Stu? Yes, but he was always one to begin with. Also every viewer is always rooting for the hero to challenge and change fate instead of being a slave to it.
>he need to and why did he choose to? If we are to believe his ramblings about "canon" then it's a constant that all Spider-Men have friends, family, fall in love and form their own family in time.
He could have just experienced more suffering than the others. Even with canon events the spider-men aren't destined to live the exact same lives, just have certain events occur. Peter B, for example, lost Aunt May, got fat and got divorced on top of fricking his finances. Those made him depressed but none of them seem to be canon events, just random bad things that've happened. It's entirely possible that Miguel had a family and lost them in a way that is completely unrelated to canon events.
> constant that all Spider-Men have friends, family, fall in love
Look at Gwen. She lost her only friend/love and her dad was seemingly about to turn her in. Life was looking pretty shitty for her before being whisked away.
>Since that event didn't immediately end both realities,
It had no reason to end Miles' reality. It didn't stop canon events from happening to his Peter (unless you argue that his death does, but it seems death doesn't count as a non-canon event otherwise any spider person dying would end the universe) so there's no issue. As for why the other reality is untouched, I'm guessing its because there is no Spider-Man. ie You need to become a spider person before being affected by the canon event rule, so if you never become one it doesn't apply even if you were "meant" to become one.
>why did he need to and why did he choose to?
I think Miguel just didn't want his alternate universe daughter to be sad about her dads death
>Miles is an anomaly and only he can change fate
Gwen changes fate by having a heartfelt conversation with her dad which led to him resigning as a police Captain, probably saving his life. Miles doesn't have special fate-altering powers, he just isn't blackpilled like Miguel to the point where he isn't even willing to try to change things for the better for fear of possible consequences.
>Gwen changes fate by having a heartfelt conversation with her dad which led to him resigning as a police Captain, probably saving his life
Is everyone just assuming that whoever takes his job won't die instead?
Yes. The point is a captain close to spiderman dies. There's no reason the rando picking up the mantle has to die anymore
I mean I'd assume one of Gwendad's work buddies will get the job instead which tangentially relates them to Spiderwoman
Miguel is clearly suffering from a classic example of a false positive. Miguel the egotists he is believes his actions doomed those realities, when in fact both of those realities were destroyed by something else. It'd be the funniest if it really was just two super villains pulling off their plans at the same time that destroyed everything and Miguel went full schizo believing it was "his fault"
That would make way too much sense
Is it ever explicitly said that the Earth-42 spider was supposed to bite Earth-42 Miles Morales specifically?
It's hinted, but not explicitly stated
of course not, they want to use "canon" stuff without compromising to it, they are like that roach alien from MiB that was wearing that farmer's skin.
No, just that it was meant for someone from Earth-42. Coulda been another Peter, coulda been Miles, coulda been someone else entirely
It showed the spider getting sucked up through the portal behind Miles
The stuff in the movie is based on the webs of fate (or whatever they were called), they are not the same thing as the multiverse itself and they only affected spider-men. Because they draw their powers from this web thing as if they were fricking green lanterns. I dunno why they decided to call it the something else and get the concept all tangled up with the standard marvel multiverse. They operate under different rules because they are different things.
Did anyone else find Miguel's attitude and behavior towards Miles 100 percent understandable? Miguel is someone that literally tried to have his cake and eat it to, and ended up destroying an entire reality. Spider-Peeps already have issues with guilt, so this event is going to torment and traumatize him for the remainder of his days. And then he encounters some punk kid who listened to his story and decided to say "frick it, I'm gonna be selfish". The fact that Miguel didn't break his neck right then and there is a testament to his self control.
Miguel's exaggerated rage and resentment towards Miles is 100% projection. He sees a younger version of himself trying to "do the right thing" or whatever and he's already lived through those consequences. When I was in college there was this person that for some reason turned me into a massive butthole. They just brought out the absolute worst in me, and it was only years later that I realized I was attacking parts of myself via attacking that person. Miguel is lashing out, but it's very easy to know where its all coming from.
No, because Miguel has no evidence for his beliefs. He had an awful event happen to him, and rather than dedicate time to finding scientific proof of his theory he established it as "gospel"
He's given up on improving the world. He just wants to maintain the "status quo" or "canon." The reason he doesn't snap Miles neck isn't because he's being merciful and patient, it's more than likely he's terrified of it causing some unseen consequence for himself. It makes him a coward, not a hero.
He apparently is using scientific proof to substantiate his claims. Did you not see the entire fricking headquarters he established? Did you not see the super high tech A.I. running simulations of shit that happens? Also he's carefully monitoring situations constantly in various universes so he's anything if not scientific/objective. Literally the fricking second that Captain Singh was saved in Mumbattan the world started to end. WHat more evidence do you need?
>WHat more evidence do you need?
Gwen's universe didn't start to end so obviously writer favoritism will create some bs loophole around the problem, allowing Miles to not have to make a hard choice with would require some form of sacrifice either way.
I know this would sound like a bullshit explanation, but my best guess is changing a canon event in progress is different than the canon event not taking place. Also George Stacy can still totally die in the next movie. Also also it may not be a perfect fix, but that world's Jefferson Davis could end up dying (as a means of swapping out a police captain). All I know is that for this story to be salvaged they either need to come up with a satisfying answer or they need to face facts and have Miguel be right. Make it a tragedy, but still hopefull. As Peter said, yeah there's a lot of bad but there's also signfiicantly more good..
>Literally the fricking second that Captain Singh was saved in Mumbattan the world started to end.
Mumbattan wasn't destroyed, a giant hole opened up in the ground. Meanwhile in Miguel's flashback the world and everyone in it vanished instantly.
Clearly what Miguel did messed with canon a lot more than what Miles did.
Yeah, he straight up replaced another guy. Clearly this canon thing has levels of severity.
And that hole was of the same type as those made by the spot. It seemed to be more of a side effect of Spot powering up that coincided with the canon event shit.
>Hey Miles I heard rumors of your kind liking this kinky stuff, could you do be a favor and give me a foot message?
>miles won’t replace pe-
Thankfully what terminally online virtue signaling cucks that don't care about Spider-Man want doesn't matter to the shareholders who see that Miles at his absolute best push still makes 1/4 of what Peter media does on an average day. If you can invest 100M into a Miles movie and make 300M, or 200M into a Peter movie and make 2B, going with Peter over Miles is a no-brainer.
The current writers are exactly like them. All they want to do is humiliate and knock Peter down, while propping up Miles by claiming he’s better, despite being a parasitic leech.
Pretty much
Peter would have killed those kids and thrown the dog into traffic.
And then this troon decided to move the goal post, and say that Peter hasn’t been like that in the comics since 2011, and that he isn’t street level anymore.
Which is also incredibly wrong. Miles’ movies are all multiverse shit too.
>troony literally making shit up
Not surprising
>israeli
>troony flag
clockwork
It’s over
Not a footgay but...
Anon no. That foot art is legitimately awful
Why is Miguel so hot?
He's the complete package. He's got decent looks, sultry voice, stoic attitude, a damn fine physique, sexy costume, different abilities than Peter, a banger theme song, and on top of that he's a family man. Last but not least he's willing to do whatever it takes to save the world so despite how he looks on the outside, he's a true hero.
Didn't saw the movie, could someone explain to me why changing things even slightly destroy the universe immediately? I would think that in a story where the "Multiverse" is a thing it would just create another universe or divergent timeline, you know, more universes for the multiverse
Also, why the frick does the fate of the multiverse hinges on fricking Spiderman of all people? Spiderman is more often than not just some dork that saves people in New York, not only the universe, even just on planet Earth he's more or less inconsequential
I think is more related to external factors changing things from that universe
my theory is that there is a potential future event in each universe which destroys it, that only their spidey can stop. if spider wo/man is not the exact person s/he needs to be when that happens, they fail and the universe is destroyed. so when the canon event does not happen, the universe realises it's toast and skips ahead to the destroying itself part.
it could explain why miguel's adopted universe took a while to dissolve- his new daughter could potentially have grown to be the spider woman who would save it, but because of Miguel's interference taking away her tragic backstory, it didn't happen.
>the universe realises it's toast and skips ahead to the destroying itself part.
That's fricking stupid, fate can work on "final destination" rules until it just kind of doesn't and the universe shits itself? Only Sipderman can save people? There's no disernable reason why that should be the case except for "Meta" reasons, which sucks and kill the story
Also, again, its fricking Spiderman, some nerd from NY being the linchpin of the multiple universes is moronic, its the fricking YIIK story again
People are getting confused because the movie is shit at explaining. Assuming the web they show in the movie is the same as the web of life in the comics, it's not the multiverse itself. It's more like a structure built around the universes in the fourth dimension (time). This structure is composed of time itself (and spider powers?). So, if an event does not take place, the strand composed of that event ceases to exist. If an important strand is removed, or if enough go away, then the structure stops supporting that universe. I don't remember exactly what happens at that point. The mystical side of marvel sucks ass, and spider-mens being the literal avatars of time is stupid as frick.
They actually completely retconned the spider web multiverse into the tree structure that has appeared in other MCU products.
I take this to believe that ATSV happens in a different multiverse than the first movie, among other inconsistencies.
>Also, why the frick does the fate of the multiverse hinges on fricking Spiderman of all people?
Shitty writers wrote that the material holdimg the multiverse together is spider web.
>dad quits police force
wow problem solved
>now some other police chief will die
>Someone, somewhere, at this very moment, is dying
i thought it was implied to be a cop you had to be close to. all the ones we've seen were family members or family of their girlfriends.
>implied
It wasn't implied, Miguel outright states the event is specifically "a police captain close to spider-man" dying.
Now that I think about it, I can't imagine Hobie getting close to a police captain of all people
People are speculating that Hobie killed a cop captain because of his lace code says he is a killer.
What was the consensus on this suit from the toys?
Guaranteed shelf warmer. Those store shelves are gonna look like the racks on a slave ship.
Duality
I want one so bad but it's all sold out in my town.
How does spider-society have the technology for dimensional travel, but not for memory wiping?
Yeah, I can see why Cinemaphile would find the fatalist nutbar that's terrified to try and make things better the "correct" one.
Unless they figure out a way to break it
I still think it'd be hilarious if they encountered a Spiderman who hadn't lost anyone technically but was so horribly mutated by his bite that he's already lost any hope of living a normal life.
And then he sees how they all have secret identities and proceeds to go on a rampage that leads to hundreds of Spidermen dying. Like that scene with Miles running, but everyone is running from him instead.
And this just leads to Miguel installing a literal background check before you're even allowed to approach that universe.
This just undermines the entire idea of Spiderman
That’s because they hate Spider-Man, and prefer Miles.
i’m pretty sure they’re setting up the first ome
I enjoyed the movie but I think making the entire multiverse rely upon spidermen for absolutely no reason is silly.
It's the same in the comics.
Silly there too. My suspension of disbelief is absurdly high but it kind of stops at "Being bit by a mutant spider makes you a pillar of multiversal stability". IMO the concept of "You have to let this event happen" works better as a time travel one but time travel stories get messy in their own way
tbf, the multiverse stability thing is deeply connected to the concept of time and fate. So, it's not really removed from time travel.
I hope Prowler Miles rapes Gwen while Aaron forces OG Miles to watch and he fails to save his dad. That would make the next movie real box office hit.
>Into the Spider-Verse
>"You can't save your family Kingpin, doing so will destroy the entire universe!"
>"I don't care Spider-Man!"
>Is the villain for doing this
>Across the Spider-Verse
>"You can't save your family Miles, doing so will destroy the entire universe!"
>"I don't care Spider-Man 2099!"
>Is the hero for doing this
no way the writers are gonna do it
ISTV had the undercurrent of Kingpin not deserving his family. It's not what the characters say, but that's the impression I got from the fact he drove them away and even their dimension ghosts things were scared of him. Though that'd be a really weird take away if that's what was intended
true but miles is gonna break his universe doing a selfishness act
No fricking way people are actually defending Miguel's bullshit.
You ARE joking, right?
>Didn't read the thread
Also, there's a chance miguel is being tricked by the REAL villain: The spider-sucking vampires.
No dude, you're moronic. If you actually believe that it's selfish for Miles to save his father's life because of canon-events you are mentally disabled.
Most of the thread isn't about that at all.
I never insinuated that I was speaking to the whole thread.
Kingpin wasn't trying to save his family, his family was already dead. His actual goal was to rip a random version of his family out of their universe and force them to be with him without taking in consideration of the life they had there.
This, Miguel and Kingpin did the same thing. Spot literally told Miles I'm gonna destroy everything you love and then left for his original earth. Even without the whole Canon timeline thing Miles know he has to go back and stop spot.
If Pavitr could have saved the bus and the captain would it have made a blackhole, Tobey Maguire and they confirmed in the movie that that's apart of the spiderverse. If Miles could have or would have saved the day if Gwen hadn't gone to see him. Really it shouldn't matter if he knows about the Canon or that he is an anomaly. He should have been allow to go back and try.
>Tobey Maguire and they confirmed in the movie that that's apart of the spiderverse.
Tobey Maguire did and they confirmed in the movie that that's apart of the spiderverse.
The Canon event for Miles would be Peter's death. The metaphysics of the universe are moronic.
It was his uncle arons death.
>Invalidates Miguel's entire philosophy
Miguel doesn't actually know what happens when canon events are disrupted, he just has fears
I'm fairly certain Miles is going to have some kind of meta moment where he meets a cosmic entity in the form of Stan Lee, maybe Bendis, who tells him take control of his own story, and whatever happens happens
Stan is dead
It's cute that you think celebrities are done acting once they die
nothing is sacred anymore
but again, they might use Bendis since he created Miles
The black hole in the middle of the city>??? hello did you watch the movie
or the universes that they lost already
I dunno, when Miguel spoke of consequences, something kind of didn't add up, like there was a threat, yes, but he kind of insinuated that he didn't know why it happens.
It was one of the spot's portals. The universe ending that miguel saw was completely different.
I still think it'd be funny if Miguel found a canon event that he considered so utterly abhorrent that he tried to interrupt it
>One more day
Why did the movie shit on Miggy so much? What did he ever do to deserve this character assassination?
be mexican and haev big butt
will hopefully probably be explained in next movie[spoiler/]
Either, the creators hate him for being the OG minority-man or Everyone is being tricked.
I don't think it was personal, they needed a Spider-Man to be the main antagonist and probably didn't want it to be a Peter Parker saying Miles isn't a real Spider-Man to avoid the implication that only Peter Parker is considered Spider-Man with all the non-Peters running around. I don't know what specifically about Miguel made him the best fit for this role, but it was going to be someone. Not that that would make any Miguel fan feel better.
If they wanted an misguided, borderline evil, spiderman, they should've made it Potto with a non peter body. He would've been the perfect fit for this, as someone has already mentioned.
They why didn’t they pick SpOck? He’s right there, and more fitting than Miguel for that role. It feels like they had something against Miguel instead.
Because they hate how people love Miguel for being a proper successor to Peter’s legacy, but hate Miles for doing the same thing but worse. They’ve gone on record saying this entire movie was a meta commentary on fans that hate Miles, so so they’re just bitterly tearing down every single Spider-Man they can in hopes that it’ll make people like Miles.
I don’t know. Especially since canon Miguel isn’t the kind of guy to act like he does in the movie. He’s selfless enough to save people who are actively trying to kill him, and went through hell to try and save Peter and MJ from dying in Edge of Time, even when it tearing time itself apart.
Miguel is a sexy DILF, I hope he gets naked next movie.
Stupid miles, taunt an adult. Needs Miguel correction.
