Sure but he also had to fight his way through all the guards and it’s not like those guys would’ve been pushovers either since they use the exact same prison to house Ozai later.

              >Sure but he also had to fight his way through all the guards
He "had to" fight no-name firebenders without their firebending. Waves of those guys haven't given a main character trouble for 43 episodes. They were fodder. I mean the tactic we saw employed by the full-ass army was to retreat until they got their firebending back.
              >they use the exact same prison to house Ozai later.
The staff could change but really: I'm sure Ozai could also escape if he or someone else really wanted him to.

    WOW!

Sure. Still somehow got fought to a draw by Suki despite having an advantage with chiblocking.
Suki. Who'd get her ass handed to her by Aang, Azula and Zuko, no bending required.
A lot of the best combatants with bending removed are still the benders, because bending = martial arts.

Azula needed her bending to take down Suki though

That's just the show trying really, really goddamn hard to make Suki seem even remotely impressive. It fails but hey, that's to be expected.

Ty Lee’s absurd amount of effectiveness is more a consequence of her being the queen of non-lethal takedowns in a kids cartoon. Can’t have Azula or Mai scorch or puncture anybody so if a good guy needs dispatching the writers just send in Ty Lee.

Nah just favoritism. Mai could take out people nonlethally just as fast as Ty Lee. The staff liked having the fun one on screen doing stuff. The dreary one that served as her straight-man got the short end of the scene sticks. Mai could easilly have been given like flashbombs or paralyzing poison or something. They just didn't want to have her on screen to disparage the goingson.

Azula they wanted to appear deadly so she didn't go around electrocuting everyone that crossed her.

Nailing people to the wall with shurikens isn't as practical as incapacitating or knocking them out with by striking their chi points.

It is when that also miraculously magnetically pushes them 50 feet away from Mai to pin them into the nearest wall.

That's about it, really. In a kid's show, things like swords, daggers, arrows, or anything lethal have to either barely miss the target, be used as an intimidation tool, or just be awkwardly used in a non-lethal way, so it's convenient to have a character focused in hand-to-hand combat.

Haha remember when there was a whole terrorist organization of Ty Lees in LoK but then they all mysteriously disappeared when Amon was revealed to be a waterbender and their grievances were never properly addressed?

No. If there was a terrorist organization of Ty Lees wouldn't I remember wanting to frick them?

I don't think they got "Disappeared" I think they just are still serving out their prison sentence what with all the crimes associated with trying to topple the government.

The beach episode hinted that she was physically the strongest girl on the show, but most people were too distracted by her breasts to notice.
And it kinda sucks that that small detail about her strength gets ignored because it explains why there aren’t more chi-blockers in Aang’s time: nobody else is able to apply that that much force with what looks like a tap, she’s pretty much punching people’s pressure points.

      >hinted
Azula kicked a ball so hard it made a crater, a mushroom cloud, and the force of the hit lit the net on fire. And the flames it produced were red... meaning she wasn't firebending it. So... Maybe I just don't take the shit happening there seriously but what the hell is supposed to "Hint" Ty Lee is specifically the strongest girl?

        >And the flames it produced were red... meaning she wasn't firebending it.
Azula's flames turn orange/red after she fires them.

The ball didn't burn blue, so as far as I can see she didn't light the net for effect herself.

Ty lee can casually jump higher than trees.
Have you seen her fight with the earth benders?

Definitely didn't see Ty Lee fighting Earthbenders in the beach episode. Most jumping in episode outside of the volleyball game and smashing the chandlers. But we don't see her get up to the chandlers and Azula definitely jumped higher than she did... but maybe Zuko helped vault her. I'm pretty sure Ty Lee's biggest jump ever, from a standing start without runup or redirecting a fall/launch was between the gondolas at the Boiling Rock. But that's the same episode that Mai is elevated into a fricking knifebender sending multiple guards guards flying at once into not at all close railings and metal walls and still sticking there, with generally very bad throwing forms.

I'm not going to sit down and break out how many newtons of force that all is transfered through a 10 ounce throwing knife and if Ty Lee is technically generating more. But innit fricking insane?
