Green Lantern just cancelled, and that's it? Is DC just done with this franchise now? The other character that has been a staple since the 40s and a major member of almost all incarnations of JSA and JLA,

About time
Screw hal Jordan him and the rest of the trash lantern core has been a blot on the entirety of dc's space opera.
The lantern was better when it was just a single mystical star heart. Instead of an entire garbage rainbow space army.
I blame Arisia
Johns run had an ending. Like a real-ass "cut to the future and show everyone as retired old men with families" happy ending epilogue. One of the few times in capeshit where you could get that experience and actually stop fricking reading and leave satisfied instead of being trapped in a meaningless void of repetition, consooming for eternity. I don't know why you'd pick up a single 'nother issue after that.
I really wish they’d finish the GL by Johns tpb collections
Honestly after how shit Thornes run and the film beware My Power were it’s for the best that they give the franchise a rest for a bit.
>Green Lantern just cancelled, and that's it?
Of course not, they're just taking a break right now.
They said that but sales and opinion of Thornes run indicate that it would be the dumbest fricking move
Well the most recent issue of Dark Crisis invalidated Thorne's run in a single page anyway. The entire corps is back like they were never gone, who cares what happened before.
Well Thorne would be the one that continues the book so he probably would have an issue with that as evidenced by his ranting on Social Media for “killing off” John
>Thorne would be the one that continues the book
What makes you think that?
I’m pretty sure Thorne said as much
It's probably one of those situations that happens from time to time where a company doesn't want to tell the creative team they're being let go (and they don't have to because it's not a firing if you just let the contract run out) and they don't find out until the next run is announced and their name's not on it.
Ouch.
>one bad run means the series is now officially dead
Green Lantern has a strong enough name to be releaunched by someone else eventually.
Yes, and then someone else takes over, that's normal.
Comic runs do not "take breaks"
They are cancelled for shit sales.
Can they cancel the show instead?
Isn’t it already? It’s been a year with like no update at this point the show is probably dead in the water
God, I hope so. The last thing I need is normies' only knowledge of Alan Scott being that he's some homosexual glowie.
Yeah the show from the character descriptions just sounded like such a shitshow… maybe it was a bad idea to let Berlanti get his hands on the GL franchise again after the movie
The shine of the emotional spectrum wore off and people realized how shallow and dumb and limiting to the GL concept it was.
wait until the end of the event anon. Thorne shitty idea is already axed internally
