      >the australian failed novelist who opened a terrible burger place in los angeles. and has a schizo wife who takes prozac who fired the chef fat guy.
Alan was the bastard son of an Australian mafia boss who got cucked out of any inheritance. Then convinced his son to invest the inheritance money he received into a shitty restaurant that eventually closed.

Several of these restaurants had shady shit going on that isn't talked about but that one infuriated me the most.

I sell beer in Los Angeles. The Capri with Jeff and Jim was by far one of the most annoying accs i ever had.

They were straight up moronic. Constantly kept losing their liquor license. Constantly kept breaking the beer draft tower that we gave them. Kept forgetting to order then would expect a delivery same day.

And yes they loved to pull that annoying shit where they pretend to be each other all the time. Surprised it lasted as long as it did. Been gone for a while now though.

He consults the owners to make decisions like that all the time throughout the show, since he's there to make managements to save their business. I don't remember the moronic boy chef to be a relative to the lady owner.

Oh I didn't know that. From what is shown in the episodes it seems as if he only advices or strongly encourages owners to get rid of useless employees.

Most of the ones in the British series were doomed anyway. Restaurants have the highest turnover of any business, most fail, and fail like the places he was visiting.
The one place that was around for 40 years and had and lost a star was a bummer. A restaurant that's been around 40 years is really, really, really fricking rare.
I was glas to see the American black chick with the soul food place in Bristol is still going. She seemed like a nice woman.

      Anonymous

the point of the series isn't really to "save" failing restaurants, they are usually too much in the red to stay in the business anyway, or have a competitor taking away their customers. The point of Kitchen Nightmares is usually just to help owners get out of debt as much as possible and then sell their place with some profit- which happens most of the time for the restaurants in the series. But that explanation is too complex for average viewer, so simple "saving restaurants" is used as a draw instead.

    The ones with cute waitresses.

And, the old UK ones, with chill music, no annoying narrator, and no ADHD jumpcuts.

I like the Scottish chick in Paris, because her breasts are out the whole time, and the update is the place closed and the last time she was seen, she was a streetwalker in Paris, after losing all of her father's money.

US version is funnier because of the autistic editing and music. UK version is less chaotic and more comfy. Both are pretty entertaining, so just pick which sounds more appealing.
