i have a theory that fanbases that attempt to cement themselves as super wholesome and progressive bully people so much because they have a neurotic desire to keep themselves "clean" and not be involved with what they perceive to be sin, even by association
that's why they seek out these 'whomesome' shows to begin with, they don't just consume them for entertainment, they NEED to consume them to make them a part of their identity and make themselves seem like better people
