more than that, filming an office documentary for 10 years before releasing anything makes no sense. american office fails to conform with its premise.
10 years to make. Exactly as long as you said. Dont be moronic.

filming the office would have taken thousands of days of filming. bills need to be paid.

Based on the length of the seasons and the amount of footage per episode, I'd say it's nowhere near "thousands of days". It's probably not even close to 1,000 days. It's a couple months of shooting, and definitely not every day. We are talking about 22 minute episodes here that rarely cover more than a couple day's time. It's entirely plausible that a person could devote themselves to this kind of project. People film moronic documentaries all the time.

Meant to "couple months of shooting out of the year."

thats not how documentaries work. if you want 20 minutes of content you need 20 hours of film. they also follow them to meetings and follow them home and film things happening in different places at the same time. it would be a major operation with at least a dozen crew working full time. thats very expensive and you cant sit on it for 10 years without releasing anything.
I only really liked the first 2 or 3 seasons of american office, they added too much drama and character """development"""", lots of flanderization in later seasons too
He wasn't a vegan during filming. He was eating like the low class English scum that he is and I found it so endearing. >Didn't like water, called it "boring" > Video of him all tired out after lunch from "jumbo fish fingers and chips, mushy peas" >Constant cheese on everything
He used to be cool when he was "our Ricky" and now he's a celebrity who appeals to low class fanatical morons.
I think that scene in the UK office where Tim takes off his mic to go and tell Dawn that he loves her so the audio completely cuts, only for him to clearly get rejected, return to his desk defeated, plug the mic back in and go "she said no by the way" is one of the most brilliant and real scenes I've ever seen in any kind of mockumentary style thing. Also the audio trick was really cool.
That and David begging not to be made redundant are my two favourite scenes even if they aren't particularly funny
My thoughts exactly. Both brilliant scenes. The UK Office uses its genre to go beyond comedy and say something real. Its basically art. I have cut ties with people IRL for preferring the US Office.
they aren't really comparable, the UK office is one of the greatest and most influential tv shows ever made. and i say this as someone who really liked the us office and thought it was very funny.
Michael. He's not an butthole, he's just moronic
But he is an butthole
The Office is the most normie tier show ever
Second after friends
t. never watched the original and if did would die from uncomfortableness
there is nothing wrong with being a normie
michael is better but he's in the worse show
Gee I wonder
>14 episodes
>8.5 rating on 100k votes
>188 episodes
>8.9 rating on 460k votes
What did the world mean by this?
If length and ratings are your indicators for quality you're a fricking moron
Quality over quantity

Boyhood took 10 years to make.
>Boyhood team only shot for a total of 45 days
shut up if youre not going to make a real argument

Well it's taken 30 years and counting for you
Terrible. Try again.
Lucky the US Office is also of higher quality then.
Kys watchmojo
The one that felt like an actual documentary with a real boss.
The one which reminds you of how awful and depressing working in an office actually is
UK was better.
>WatchMoJo
You are the most reddit man alive
DS9 is gay and dumb
>Watchmojo
have a nice day Black person
Literally just the first uk vs us picture that came up on google
Cool your autism
Keep telling yourself that homosexual.
US had better casting but the characters become extremely flanderized.
Who's the yank equivalent of Chris Finch?
Dennis Reynolds on Always Sunny, not sure if the US office had an equivalent because I never watched it
KILL ALL WATCHMOJO USERS
Uk version, its fricking brutal and it doesnt overstay its welcome.
The UK office has a magnificently grim and sad vibe. It's like ACTUALLY living in Slough.
I only really liked the first 2 or 3 seasons of american office, they added too much drama and character """development"""", lots of flanderization in later seasons too
Jim would have quit in season 1 if David was the boss.
American Office seasons 2-4 > British Office > AO season 1 >>>> other season of AO
I like the American one more, since I can't fricking stand Ricky Gay-wise.
American Office.
Ricky Gervais is a vegan alcoholic c**t.
He wasn't a vegan during filming. He was eating like the low class English scum that he is and I found it so endearing.

Replace the mush peas with beans and then you've got some top scran
I agree lad but I'm not Ricky and this isn't the mid 2000s so I don't know what to tell you.
There's no fixing that lunch now.
He’s still an alcoholic, though.
i've never seen the original british office but it's got to be better than the american cringe office.
UK and it's not even close
Also if you hate nu-Gervais you should enjoy it even more so

Oh no...I'm sure they were absolutely crushed...
Tim having his shoes stolen so Finchy could throw them over the roof bummed me out.
Brent actually feels like a real person a not a looney tunes character
they forgot it was a mockumentary after season 1
