No nuTrek has ever made me think it was Star Trek. Data's dream sequences and the Riker reunion in Picard came close, but not quite. That basically explains the entire show, Seth just didn't have enough faith in the whole concept to put any real thought into world-building. These are quite literally the laziest ship class designations I've ever seen in any show.
All the war stuff is from DS9. TNG's conflicts even against the borg were kept at a minimum. Kaylon and Krill are closer to Dominion and Jem'hadar. The family dynamics are also closely modeled after Sisko and not Worf.

I had a hard time believing they were ever in space in the Orville. Too many times it just looks like an SNL skit with Windows 3.1 screensaver stars. SNW completely knocked it out of the park in that department.
