Which of the New Champions/Secret Sidekicks should become canon characters? If Gwenpoole could go from varient cover to actual character, I don't see why these ones can't.

Teen Hulk here isn't actually new. He was a gag character in some old Marvel guidebook forever ago. I guess blonde!Hulk is a pretty easy to come up with.
I'd like to imagine this is Black Cat's dad coming out of retirement for One Last Job, like all good heist movies.
>Felicia gets a shota sidekick
>The cat & The Kitten
Has Marvel been sneaking around Cinemaphile lately?
>65 year old grandma
>shota
Huh?
Yes please bring Vin back. I want him back.
Why does Capt's sidekick have Blue Beetle wings?
These are the only ones that actually look good and kinda creative. The rest range from "meh" to "crap".
This one kind of looks like America Chavez if she had a proper cape costume
does the signature say 21 on it? that would suggest that this is a reused design rather than something new
The Sorcerer Supreme’s Apprentice
It's fricked up that Marvel killed Kamala off then immediately pushed this White boy as Carol's "true" sidekick.
What If he's Kamala's new sidekick
Marvel is finally healing.
Kamala was never really carol sidekick though she was her own solo character,
Outside of Golden Age characters like Bucky or Toro Marvel has shied away from having it heros's have sidekicks, due to Stan lee's historical hatred of them
Give me a story about a future version of the F4 where Johnny is now the leader and this Kid-Thing is kind of an butthole the same way Johnny was when he was a kid.
This is the only one I'd be super interested in exploring. Maybe she's got a whole different type of spirit compared to the others, and that's why she's blue? There are endless possibilities here.
Ghost Skater, The Spirit of Chaod
Miku Ghost Rider?
It'll been funny if she had heelees from sketchers
Looms like something you'd see in jet set radio or air gear but I love both of them so it's fine by me
I remember, the anon who did the COMPLETE CHRIS PRIEST marathon. Had some of these early in his career.
>He was a gag character in some old Marvel guidebook forever ago.
Post it.
Teen Hulk
This is just Jinx I prefer the Thrud from GoW Ragnarok, who took a lot of her genes from her mom. And her mom is a 10/10
I really like the designs for most of these, but I don't feel like the characters need to exist. A young Moon Knight doesn't make sense. Why would we need another Storm? That being said, I'd be happy to see most of these as an AU or something.
These are the most interesting to me. I want to read books about these.
this one looks. more like Mach-1 sidekick than Iron Mans
Most seem to dislike this one, but I at least like that he uses a seemingly low-tech armor.
it's just kinda lazy I guess since it's the original armour with some wings strapped to the back compared to some of the designs it's fine
Should this be a younger 616 version of the girl Magneto from MC2?
her power set seems different than just magnetism, seems more technopathy or hard light constructs than traditional magnetism control which the MC2 character had.
This one might have the biggest chance to be made canon, mostly because of the Barbie memes around her
Barbie memes? Post some.
Great design.
IMO, I feel
should become canon characters, especially if they go and bring Vin Vision back since his death was basically pretty fricked, plus it would help Vision and Viv get some sort of emotional healing they clearly deserve.
she is the best of the bunch
Has the artist have this character concept a name like they did for the Ghost Rider sidekick?
This two seem to be the odds on favorites
If you told me this was just Miles with longer hair, I'd believe you. People gave him shit for spray painting Peter's spare suit, but at least that's something.
wow it's true that the only thing Miles can do is copying Peter, even his female version uses the same design difference Mattie used when she donned the true Spider-Man costume.
not sure if there were particular mandates artists had to follow for these, but pretty disappointed to see Pichelli churn out something so forgettable after being attached to Miles as an artist for so long.
They were given prompts, but we don't know what they all were. The Ghost Rider and Magneto artists have given their prompts:
Ghost Rider, Roller Derby, Girl, Cute
Magneto, Barbie, Hot Pink
this isn't even a sidekick design this just looks like a genderbent Miles
and
is just a rehash of Laura and Gabby.
is also stupid because there's already two "teen Hulk" characters.
is also pointless because there's like two kid Visions already. but I feel like I could come up with some good concepts for the others.
continuing:
I'm neutral on Moon Squire, Black Kitten, Marvel Kid, and Star Lad, and while I guess
could be like, an apprentice for Dr. Strange it's just kinda unnecessary since Strange Academy is a thing.
I think my personal favorite concept-wise is
, she seems to be a magic user while Black Panther is primarily a tech hero more than anything so she seems the least redundant and most distinctive if that makes sense.
I also really love
and I think I know exactly where she'd fit in. There's a "Venomverse" comic involving a symbiote-wielding magical girl, and I think this Ghost Rider magical girl would fit right in with her. An entire universe of magical girl versions of Marvel heroes is something I'd be totally down to read.
I like that Iron Boy's suit is based on Iron Man's first suit, it makes him feel more distinctive from Ironheart and Iron Lad.
I like her design a lot. I think her wings are because she's meant to be a sidekick to Sam rather than Steve?? If so, that's an interesting choice.
That girl is dressed and has powers as a younger version of Shuri in current comics So still within Black Panther lore.
oh, got it. black panther's one of the heroes I don't really follow(along with Moon Knight).
Moon Knight already had a sidekick in 90s called Midnight, who ended up becoming a cyborg and going evil
>Marvel Kid
if he had a name it would probably be Marvel Boy since that been a name Marvel has used since the 50s and neither Robert(the original who goes by the Uranian) or Noh-var(the Grant Morrison version) really use the name any more
>I think her wings are because she's meant to be a sidekick to Sam rather than Steve?? If so, that's an interesting choice.
that makes some sense considering his previous two sidekick's got to become a king in a diffrent dimension and lost their powers to cure his vampirism so he does need one
Ngl Miles would've been way cooler with dreads/braids
He wouldn’t. He’d still be a bigger Peter clone than Ben.
Marvel desperately wants a baby yoda to push.
they literally have comics with Baby Yoda in it.
That makes Star Wars money, not marvel money.
Noseless wolverine but a girl? That's it? Kinda lazy
Because Gwenpool was forced as frick, they already decided she'd be a hit before they ever released her I bet.
Anon, Miles-Girl is just Miles with poorly drawn braids.
I actually kinda like Ghost Roller but Ghost Riders are easy since I'm always won over by whatever dumb ride gimmick they come up with.
>they already decided she'd be a hit before they ever released her I bet.
It only feels that way because no one remembers the other two dozen Gwen variants they did at the same time.
or the other two dozen gwen they did years later
>I actually kinda like Ghost Roller but Ghost Riders are easy since I'm always won over by whatever dumb ride gimmick they come up with.
I know it probably seems like a moronic take but I think the focus on the ride gimmick is what's holding Ghost Rider back. It's hard to actually be creative with the character because no matter what the only common elements with it are a flaming skull and a vehicle with flaming wheels or a mount with flaming feet.
Like as a whole or just the fake sidekick girl?
As a whole, sidekick girl is neat.
I dunno maybe I'm overanalyzing why Ghost Rider never seems to stick to anything but jobbing but if the character concept boils down to "Vegeance, Flaming Skull, Flaming Vehicle" and all of the people who become the Ghost Rider are all bitter and jaded then there's a foundational problem with the character.
I think the flame gimmick is pretty tangential to the personality problems which are inherent to the origin/tone since the whole point is being Ghost Rider is a curse. It's not supposed to be fun so being jaded and bitter goes with that. The aesthetics themselves have little effect on that.
could always be a different type of spirt instead of the Spirt of Vengeance maybe, the Ed Brisson run kinda suggested different hells have different types of Riders that have diffrent functions
They tried doing that with the X-men recently by having a Spirit of Change possess Banshee for a while, but that kind of fizzled out because a) It was self-contained to the X-men's books, and b) Turns out that a Spirit of Vengeance that was bullied by his peers so hard that he hid himself for tens of thousands of years for being too much of a hippie whiner doesn't make for a particularly fearsome ally for mutantkind, and frankly has nothing to do with the actual Ghost Rider run currently going on so wasn't even mentioned
I was more thinking of the brisson run which had Danny has the Spirit of Corruption or whatever which got its power from Limbo instead of hell which if the run had not been cut short by Covid it might have expanded on those more, so having Ghost roller be the Spirit of Ecstasy or something from the Eighth city would make it some interesting expansion to Ghost rider's mythology
Honestly, that would be super interesting, although I feel that kind of thing is better served for a fan project than giving it to Marvel. Much like a lot of these variant covers, to be frank, they look more like fan concepts that were stolen and published than fresh hypotheticals on "What if Spider-Boy but other capes".
I feel like other heroes have it worse and still manage to be more upbeat. Not saying that the Ghost Rider needs to be a cheerful Charlie but the edginess of the aesthetic, the attitude, and the jobbing makes the character just feel out of touch and impotent.
could be wolverine son he had with a random savage lands tribes women in the 90s comic
>https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Erista_(Earth-616)
Looks kinda dumb but memorable. I like it.
These look like some cheap cosplays
Looks like someone photoshopped hair on top of Miles' head, it doesn't look like it's connected to the head
This looks very tumblr-ish, no idea why Cinemaphile sucks this one off so much
Geuinely looks good
>no idea why Cinemaphile sucks this one off so much
Jinx clone
cute
cute
cute
cute
disgusting
cutest
These two look like they could have been a part of that Children of the Atom series from two years ago.
that was weird team since it about a bunch of human teen Mutantaboo's larping as mutants using tech for no good reason
these two are cute
These are the only good ones.
The question was "should", not "would"
Those two should definitely be made real as a frick you to those racist scumbags. Plus, they acually look good.
>there's a whole thread about this girl
what's with this twitter chick
White Ororo? Dreadlock'd femme Miles? Ironheart as a boy in cheap armour? Another goddess of thunder? Kamala done right except as a trans? Black teen Dr. Strange and white teen Dr. Strange? moron Amadeus Cho?
I'll give it to rollerblading GR and jailbait Magneto as they seems cool.
why do you think the Thor sidekick is a 10/10?
I was judging the art piece as a whole. The bifrost, the thunder, the art style, the lightning tatoo, the girl looking badass
But I didn't notice that the artist totally screwed up the right leg.
at least the artist didn't give her a giant dick by mistake like same artists have done
>mistake
Mental illness.
the /ss/ sidekick would be a breath of fresh air for Carol.
i was serious too. most of the times she only interact with women in her comics, it is getting tiresome.
So which minority is this c-lister catering to?
Albinos hopefully
We still haven’t see the Deadpool, Blade and Scarlet Witch “sidekick” variants yet.
their is also a TBA book. which is getting one as well
Rumor is it’s a new Champions book
that would make the title of these alt cover make more sense then
I’m surprised Cinemaphile hasn’t tried to come up with names for all these variant champions yet.
Like American Flyer.
Or Moon Squire.
I am. I already said a bunch of 'em but I was thinking Flux for Magneto-girl and Stormcloud(or just Cloud) or maybe Forecast for storm-girl.
The Ghost Rider artist named her Fantasma on Twitter.
So does that mean all artist named their characters for this?
At least one did.
I'm still gonna call her Ghost Roller
>She's basically a toothless Quentin Quire in that she represents rebellious youth adopting radicals of the past
>However she's a total Latte Liberal at odds with Magneto's true message but unaware of that fact
That's just Ghost in Spanish!
Marvel already has at least 3 characters by that name.
Marvel reuses names all the time so that would hardly be surprising
While that's true, one of them appeared only a few months back in the Wasp mini. It might make sense to use a different name.
I don't like any of these, there's far too much pedobait in comics already and this just adds more fuel to that fire.
Shut it boomer
why are they still trying to push champions when nobody buys those comics?
because it's the only name Marvel has for a teen superhero book which isn't New Warriors(a title Breevort despises) or. Young Avergers(which has too much baggage with it
