    why does he have diseases
    it makes him too comical
hes already a fat gay pedo

In the books, the Baron is only fat and turned ugly by disease because he tried to rape a space witch and they collectively cursed him for it. For a guy who never read the books and laughed at the mere thought of doing it, Linch got a lot closer in some respects to the source material than that German yoyo

Because he raped a bene dessert that was a c**t that kept screaming diplomatic immunity. They have all the sex aids in their coochie and can selectively infect who they want. Baron was gigachad before that.

        >In the books, the Baron is only fat and turned ugly by disease because he tried to rape a space witch and they collectively cursed him for it
anon that was fan fiction from frank herbert's hack son written a decade or more after the lynch version. stop reading wikipedia and pretending you know what respecting the source material means

No gay. Most of the 'fan fiction' was shit that was extrapolated and greatly added to. So yes, the full scene that goes into it comes from the fic, but Dune references it in passing.

I know Brian Herbert talks about that but I can't remember it being a part of Dune.

            Anonymous

Dune does not reference that at all you brian herbert apologist. Hell I bet you couldn't even find me any passage in the book that even says that the Baron has an illness. There are a few lines were the benne gesserit talk about his gluttonus behavoir but that's it. Lady Fenring also mentions that Feyd-Rautha "won't let himself go to fat," implying that it's primarily a matter of lifestyle. The whole baron is cursed or even riddled with disease is nothing more then a retcon of the first book you wiki reading phony

The first book mentions it dipshit, to give the reader a reason for the Baron hating the Bene Gesserit

            Anonymous

no it doesn't. it's a complete retcon and you still have failed to prove that it's anywhere in the text of the first book because you're a brian berbert apologist shill

            Anonymous

He hates the Bene Gesserit because THEY raped HIM. He is fat because he likes to eat and he enjoys making people grossed out by his appearance. That's straight from the text written by Frank, not his moron son

Villeneuve is incredibly bad at fantasy and imagination. He has none. A dystopia is stultifying because of its visual design, not for how life is oppressive on it. Emperor has no clothes.

Am I the only one that thinks Villeneuves prosthetics for the Baron suck ass? Look at that neck, you can see the rubber parts folding. Fat people don't have that.

In that particular scene it's a bit weird, but obviously they didn't go for a regular fat guy look but more like he's an obese huge baby with a stronger norf fc type frame.

I liked how he floated around laughing like a madman

I was actually quite disappointed in this most recent screen adaptation of the Frank Herbert book, 'Dune.'
For example, how is it that they totally left out the part in which his name could kill?
I first saw the 1984 screen adaptation, then I read the book. There's actually a series of books. A 'Dune' series. I can't remember how many books there were in this series, but I think I stopped at about the third or fourth book because it started to get repetitive and repetitiveness is boring to me.
But anyway, even though it has been a while since I read the books, there was more of a messianic feel to the books than there were to both screen adaptations. If I remember correctly, they explain it more in the book when Paul has those visions.
Another thing that kind of annoyed me was that Paul's Sister, Alia, remains unborn in this latest adaptation. Doesn't she kill someone important in the story? I can't remember.

She's the one who kills the Baron. But gets his revenge by psychically infecting her and living literally inside her mind. Which means that a basic core arc in the book, that of the continued "existence" of the Baron is now axed to make way for more Zendaya.

Thank you America. Don't forget to put more queers and nogs in it for the 3rd episode!
