Civil War, it did way more damage to almost every series and brand other then X-Men that took years to undo. Gillen's Uncanny run during AvX at least makes up for it by giving us great stuff with Scott.

Civil War had the potential to actually be interesting, and some of the fallout was cool. AvX was moronic from the start, and all of its consequences just made everyone an even bigger moron by proxy.

Registration was a flimsy excuse but you could still arguably debate it, whereas AvX just needed a dumb reason for those guys to have a punch-up
AvX is where five writers collectively somehow manage to make a comic worse than Mark Millar's Civil War, which was already bad to begin with.

Civil War could've gotten fixed in less than two years if editorial had half a brain. They had Secret Invasion in the plans
Civil War, and that's without looking at the legacies either book left behind
