We had one in Spain (2005) called "Camera Café" with wacky characters. It had only one camera on the coffee machine so instead of following the characters around, it showed you their interactions at that one specific location. Since you can't make an hour long episode like that, they also changed the format so every episode would be like three different short comedy sketches instead of one story. It was a great show.
