Seth MacFarlane didn't dislike Goodfellas, he disliked The Godfather. You're confusing two very different movies.

God, I swear every time I turned on this damn show a Goodfeathers skit was playing. And THEY'RE ALL THE SAME. HAHA, THEY'RE DOING THE JOE PESCI SCENE AGAIN WHERE HE GETS MAD FOR NO REASON. THAT NEVER GETS OLD.

YOU KNOW, THE ONE SCENE? FROM THE MOVIE? THE ONE WHERE HE GETS MAD? HE'S GETTING MAD AGAIN. HE'S DOING IT. THE SCENE WHERE HE GETS MAD.

Hippos are probably the worst. They're totally unlikeable and not even funny. typically funny things happen AROUND them. I guess someone there thought it was really, really funny to make rich socialites be hippos.

the issue with the goodfeathers is it's the same fricking joke over and over. I get it. The purple one is having his period.

Hippos easily, Katie Kaboom wasn't a fun series but Katie wasn't nearly as grating. Mindy's probably a follow-up. Pretty much everyone else was at least tolerable.

katie was cute as frick, her joke just ran its course so they stopped doing it. like SNL should.

Rita and Runt. They were either boring or depressing.

they're near the bottom, but what helps is that the incessant music is... genuinely great. If it wasn't, that would be insufferable.

was mindy the toddler that kept leading that one dog to getting his ass beat all the time? Her, whatever her name was.

I shouldn't find buttons and mindy funny, but I do. Cartwright's performance is a huge part of it.

which is it? pick your toy, or ask which one is available?

Mindy and Buttons, yeah. At least that was a pretty classic slapstick scenario. Countless cartoons did something similar, even Inspector Gadget.

It would have been decent slapstick if it was an anthro or human character but it was just a regular ass dog which always made me feel bad. I usually love slapstick but I always skipped mindy and buttons because I didn't want to see a poor dog get hurt and then not even recognized for his efforts. Just made me feel like shit. He couldn't even talk.

I never really made the distinction, it didn't bother me. Yeah, I feel a little bad for Buttons but his mannerisms are still anthropomorphized. I don't see much difference between him and someone like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Bad stuff happens to him even though he's a good dog, but he'll be fine in another minute anyways.

I wanted to say Minerva Mink, but as I typed my reasoning, I remembered the real worst character: Katie Ka-Boom.

The Hip Hippos could make me laugh. Minerva Mink never could, but I could almost see what they were going for (the joke is "sex"). Katie Ka-Boom, meanwhile, was only remotely funny one time, and it was when they brought in Chicken Boo. Even then, it was only somewhat passable as opposed to actively painful to sit through. Every single one of Katie Ka-Boom's shorts is the same: She overreacts to something, turns into a literal monster, and destroys the house until things somehow magically work themselves out, while terrorizing her family and possibly neighbors. Sometimes the monster designs are neat, but otherwise there's no comedy in what is supposed to be a comedy short. Her shorts were the worst of all of them, and the only reason she ran longer than Minerva Mink is because the latter upset moral guardians.

Definitely the hippos. Nobody wanted to see the antics of a yuppie fat couple. Though to be honest almost none of the skits had lasting value. Minus Slappy.

    Buttons and Mindy.
Stuff like Tom and Jerry works because Tom is morally grey. Like he's trying to kill Jerry cause he's a cat and cats stop invasive mice from stealing their owners homes but he's still trying to kill Jerry. On the other hand Buttons from Button and Mindy is a good guy. He just wants to make sure Mindy doesn't fricking die, and at the end of the day he's the one who gets regularly hurt and then punished on the end. The humor ain't black enough to make this funny, I'm sorry.

How is Tom anything but white? Jerry is vermin.

The other problem with Buttons/Mindy is that it's a mostly silent series and the visual gags were almost never good enough. I can barely remember a lot of gags from that series the way I can remember good visual bits from the better series.

Animaniacs got a lot of shit for being driven by writers who couldn't draw, and a lot of it was probably jealousy, but it is true that this is the kind of cartoon that is very hard to script in a words-on-the-page kind of way.

Definitely either the Hip Hippos or Katie Kaboom. The other skits had at least SOME good ones or redeeming qualities (yes, even Buttons and Mindy and Chicken Boo - Buttons and Mindy had that one with the Thriller parody, for example).

Maybe Katie Kaboom was slightly worse than the Hippos, just because at least the Hippos were okay in some of the ensemble crossover bits, while Katie wasn’t even in most of those and didn’t even have that going for her.

The reboot saying Chicken Boo was the most hated was bullshit. Boo was played out way too much but sometimes the one joke was funny and off the wall enough to be fun and again he was very fun in some of the crossover skits.

I never liked goodfeathers. And did all the heavy R-rated films of the 1970s and 1980s get adaptations and parodies and references in children's cartoons?

if you're going to do a whole Goodfellas parody every week then you might as well just do a porn parody episode called "Wakko Does Waco"

The basic premise of Goodfeathers is that if old cartoons could have gangster characters based on Edward G. Robinson or Peter Lorre, then why not have a cartoon based on modern gangster movies?

The argument against that is that old gangster movies were heavily self-censored and even kids were allowed to see them, while as you say, modern gangster movies are mostly R rated and Joe Pesci gangsters aren't as obviously recognizable to kids.
