I went to India. Seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise when it was almost empty was an amazing sight to me, as I had dreamed of going since I was very young.
However everything else about India was horrific, disgusting and I have to say it's the worst country I have ever travelled to on balance.
My driver spat constantly, stopped the car to piss and shit on the side of the road (I swear I am not making this up, the memes are real), every public toilet was literally caked in shit with puddles of urine on the floor and no soap or toilet roll.
The food was extremely disappointing, the men were constantly leering at my girlfriend and staring wide-eyed like they were spaced out on ket or something - it was genuinely disturbing. They were not aggressive, they seemed almost stunned by her, which was actually more disturbing than if they had been macho.
The only fun part was that I got a LOT of attention from Indian girls and my gf was fuming the whole time. They were more attractive than I expected and in hindsight I regret not cheating on her with some of them. Indians are obsessed with white skin, even more so than Mexicans or Peruvians.
