I just watch the first twelve seasons, it shoulda ended when Stabler left
I agree with Satan, it was comfortable background tv for me.
After he left it got really desperate and cringe
My dad watched the gamergate episode of this and thought it was based on a true story
There's also the furry episode in the mid 2000s
This can't be real
>this episode was influential
This is when I discovered furries
same
LMAO
>Jerry Stahl
He also did Lady Heather episodes, the troony episode, and the infantilism episode.
Ben Stiller played Stahl in a movie with Maria Bello. Kino, but that is one sick frick.
Also known for writing Alf, Bad Boys II, and turning in a script for Twin Peaks that was incomprehensible nonsense and covered with blood.
That was CSI though
Kys all crime shows are the same
Mariska's gonna come to your house now and arrest you for rape.
send Rollins and Kat instead
sick fricks
my wife watches it, now that I think about it we usually have sex on nights she watches it
do you copy what the episode was about?
because that would be hot as frick.
Exactly the intent. It's a safe forum in which women can explore dark desires and kinky sex, then not feel guilty about it because the perpetrators are brought to justice - by women. Law and order isn't the real dichotomy of the show - it's id and superego.
>Who actually watches this?
Sexually frustrated women past their primes who dream of being ravaged in some dirty public washroom.
You have to understand...they self-insert as the victims. Vicarious carnal thrills.
i did up until a few years ago it got so pozzed that it wasn't even funny anymore
Remember that episode where that woman had that genetic disorder where she looked like a perpetual 13 year old? Her boyfriend was constantly getting harassed in public bc she looked so young lol
It is a classic because he was a full fledged paedo who found a loophole.
I remember that episode but what was the name again? What season was it from?
Good back noise
Beautiful troony
I do
Started last year
I'm on Season 10 episode 20
I did that when I realized Hulu has every ep, I just started from the beginning and would put it on when I was cooking or doing chores so I missed chunks of episodes every time but it was a nice routine. I’m on the last season so I’ve finally caught up. Might watch old og law and order.
I got through large chunks of it while falling asleep, kind of like ST Voyager
I've seen the first 8 seasons of the OG show, it's very good but it got really stale in season 8
They changed cast on that show way too often and eventually the changes stopped being good
She started to look really whack around season 7 or 8 but it's mainly cause they fricked up her hair
In season 10 or so she's back to having normal hair and she looks much better, just older
people like this really claim they've "watched" shows
the inevitable future episode based on JD v. AH,
they couldnt let the niece of Caressi get punishment for making a false rape report, so they make her get raped for real so you couldnt, empatize with the male victim.
>they leveled up
My brothers wife watches this shit and she is a COO for an energy company making $300k a year. She watches it while shopping on amazon.
the show died when Munch retired
when Kat left
Mariska was so hot when this show started. What season did she crash into the wall?
It used to be the best of the police procedural bunch but then it became like a soap opera and way more involved in the officers lives and shit. I’d still rather watch this than criminal minds or ncis or whatever else is out there
23 Seasons 516 episodes.
I watched the frick out of this shows, at least whatever seasons are available on Prime. This show is extremely comfy, though its not as good as vanilla Law and Order. I really love the cross over stuff. The show crosses over with normal Law and Order, and also the "Chicago" verse, so Chicago PD and Chicago Fire.
SVU was good for the first two seasons but then it started getting messed up. The strongest part of Law and Order has always been the court room and interactions between cops and suspects etc. SVU became way too formulaic and there's not a lot of interesting stuff that goes on any more. Its just comfy background noise.
How does the crossover stuff work when you’re watching streaming after the fact? You watch one then go pull up another show and watch their episode?
So there are two ways they have crossovers, one is straightforward where characters from one show just show up in an episode of the other. The annoying one is where they go back and forth. In that case I just look up which episode in the show I'm not watching at the moment has the cross over to follow along. But sometimes that doesn't work because the streaming service won't have the crossover episode in the other show (missing the season or the show) which is pretty dumb.
That sounds annoying if it’s not spelled out and you have to like look up which season and ep it is of another show. I suppose when they aired originally they just had them back to back on tv? Does the original Sam waterston law and order ever crossover with svu? I would probably watch that.
>I suppose when they aired originally they just had them back to back on tv?
I think they were on the same channel but I don't know if they were back to back.
>Does the original Sam waterston law and order ever crossover with svu?
From what I remember not in a meaningful way. Its more like the characters from the original (including Jack) show up as cameos for a minute or two randomly throughout the episodes. All the Law and Order stuff got pretty shitty after awhile. The new seasons where Sam is back suck too because he just takes a super passive role and its just the annoying ADAs. I just wanted him back in the court room tbh. The comfiest seasons were when that Texan guy was the DA, and Rubirosa was working with Jack
Hargitay is kind of hot in the early seasons and the show is decent entertainment to throw on in the middle of the day when you're eating lunch.
Also crime shows like actually DO show boomers and old people aspects of the world they wouldn't think about with their "ripped from the headlines" approach.
This show does a good job of making the city look comfier than it actually is
Brooklyn is actually comfy tho
I remember watching an episode of the OG L&O, one of those really dull ones where they just investigate some murder in an office building, and there's a shot in a high rise where they look out the window and I was realizing manhattan really is just a concrete island prison for millions of people. People are born there and die there and are too poor to leave
Then I got over it but it was a really strong feeling. I've been there like 4 times, it can be comfy sometimes
I liked the crossover with Trial by Jury, because the plot was kino, but the Trial by Jury characters suck. Alfred Molina played an autistic trust fund rapist who got turned on by the smell of cleaning supplies. The court room shenanigans were great.
>Alfred molina
>turned on by cleaning supplies
Kek, I have to see this.
Jack as ADA with the super conservative partner ADA and the conservative DA…who I think is who you mean by Texas…best L&O seasons by far
So what are the best and comfiest shows like this to watch?
SVU and 90s Law and Order
Procedurals? The Shield, Dick Wolf's Chicago trilogy, CSI Miami, Monk
I remember that one SVU ep that was just benson and she is on the phone all day with a girl that’s locked in a cage in a basement or something. That one was kino as far these types of shows go
That was very kino
Seasons 5-8 all have top tier stuff
Like the serial killer who's named after Humphry Bogart
>What the frick was trial by jury?
A failed spin off with only one season
Season 6 Episode 20, "Night"
What the frick was trial by jury?
Have benson and stabler fricked yet? I heard he was back on the show.
This show has some good memes
Organized Crime is kino
