I think the reason people hate him is because he comes across as entitled. It seems like he thinks he can just be a high level comic without having to work for it because he happened to be friends with Rogan. It also doesn’t help that he’s a good looking rich athlete. I think that’s what comics hate about him. It’s like one of the cool kids in high school who used to beat them up is now cutting in line and forcing himself into their special club without actually having to put in the work. Which isn’t exactly true, if nothing else he has a very strong work ethic. He’s always got like twelve podcasts going on. He’s better in that format, too. I feel like the standup thing is completely pointless
I have trained UFC for decades. Schaub might not be the best comedian, but fight experts recognize him as one of the top 10 heavyweights of all time. He has earned your respect.
Why did he make this a special? It’s 20 minutes long. And it sucks. What Schaub doesn’t seem to understand is that if he just does his podcasts every week and does standup sets that aren’t taped, he can pretend he’s doing much better than he is and no one would have the means to question him on it
