I wouldn't call either character the most complex or well written characters on the planet but Kenshiro is definitely cooler and more iconic. In terms of shows, their both battle shounens and not great for various reasons but I find more entertainment in the world of FotNS which is basically just a Bruce Lee type of character in the world of Mad Max. The constant changes in story and characters throughout JoJo gets tiresome and at times flat out horrible so I don't invest into it as much. I'd take simplicity over inconsistency.
Araki straight up admitted the entire premise for the first arc was inspired by HnK, down to inventing hamon in order to also have ancient kung fu techniques. The rest of Phantom Blood is just Dracula.

I would say in the quality section. It's no Ashita no Joe but that show is more of a drama whereas Ippo follows a more typical shounen formula but in a good way.
I don't care for one piece but I begrudgingly gave DBS a try and it was OK. Little better than I expected but my expectations weren't high. As for the "power up" the whole tournament of power and introduction of Ultra Instinct was really cool. It was done well and exciting which I didn't expect to feel this many years after watching DBZ as a child from this series again

It's an animation, moron. The job of adapting something into a different medium is to make appropriate changes or tweaks to the source material so it works better in that context. You bring more creativity to it because you have more to work with. To do a literal shot-to-shot recreation of the manga in but in animated form can easily lead to boring imagery that's not nearly as effective in that format as it would be in the original source material.

The best "hidden superpower" reveal in all of anime. Musou Tensei is UI before UI but that's not even the best part, its how resounding the reveal is. Other powers might be 'stronger' but they lack the emotional impact of Ken's friends and enemies that suffered tragic fates living on in him.

No, they're in another language. While traveling, I came across a channel showing cartoons/anime and I was interested in the language. Inuyasha had a good dub and wasn't too difficult to follow. So I bought them and would watch them and learn the language.

Someone in their teens vs someone in their young adult years vs someone 40+ will have very different top 10's. But who's to say one is more correct than the other? Does one person weighing well animated action scenes trump someone else weighing well written dialog? Or maybe comedy is more important.
When there are so many different genres is it really fare to compare a shonen to a slow thought provoking story like Lain? Does something like konosuba get no recognition because it's a comedy?

Super and GT are two different flavors of dogshit. Super has the "superior" fights, character cast and story execution. GT has the "superior" aesthetic, characterization of the main cast and ideas. Both have dogshit animation and mediocre soundtracks. GT is the Goku show, while Super is the Goku and Vegeta show

GT also allowed Goten and Trunks to grow up and become real characters that aren't just degraded to be the two halves of Gotenks

The first arc he was being controlled by the villain and then by the time we get to Omega Shenron when Goku had achieved SSJ4 which is suppose to be this legendary transformation that Goku had to work to get, off-screen Bulma developed a machine that just gives Vegeta the same ability which is not only stupid but also goes against Vegeta's beliefs. He willingly took a shortcut instead of earning that power like Goku did. I'd say that IS him regressing as a character. >GT also allowed Goten and Trunks to grow up and become real characters
but they weren't real characters at all. Goten does nothing in the story nor does he have much personality while Trunks was basically a non-character and a third wheel. He's bland and doesn't really seem to have a personality of his own and seems more like a self insert if anything while also not doing much in the story aside from going on shitty adventures with Goku and Pan but that's the extent of his character. There wasnt even any real highlights or memorable moments from Trunks on those adventures. Never shined in any capacity.

I wouldn't call either character the most complex or well written characters on the planet but Kenshiro is definitely cooler and more iconic. In terms of shows, their both battle shounens and not great for various reasons but I find more entertainment in the world of FotNS which is basically just a Bruce Lee type of character in the world of Mad Max. The constant changes in story and characters throughout JoJo gets tiresome and at times flat out horrible so I don't invest into it as much. I'd take simplicity over inconsistency.

It's an animation, moron. The job of adapting something into a different medium is to make appropriate changes or tweaks to the source material so it works better in that context. You bring more creativity to it because you have more to work with. To do a literal shot-to-shot recreation of the manga in but in animated form can easily lead to boring imagery that's not nearly as effective in that format as it would be in the original source material.

I really like how slow and drawn out old school anime fights were. Really makes the fight feel like an actual struggle plus you can comprehend what's happening and feel the impact of the attacks. Nu-shonen are all to fast paced with fancy computer effects covering up the subpar animation and they all feel one-sided, with the winner just stomping the loser without much effort

It's an action show from 1984. Battle shounens weren't even a thing yet so it wa new for anime at the time. Any minor animation inconsistencies can easily be overlooked.

The best "hidden superpower" reveal in all of anime. Musou Tensei is UI before UI but that's not even the best part, its how resounding the reveal is. Other powers might be 'stronger' but they lack the emotional impact of Ken's friends and enemies that suffered tragic fates living on in him.

No, they're in another language. While traveling, I came across a channel showing cartoons/anime and I was interested in the language. Inuyasha had a good dub and wasn't too difficult to follow. So I bought them and would watch them and learn the language.

There is no true answer to this question because your top 10 should constantly be evolving as your exposure to the medium grows and your tastes change.
Someone in their teens vs someone in their young adult years vs someone 40+ will have very different top 10's. But who's to say one is more correct than the other? Does one person weighing well animated action scenes trump someone else weighing well written dialog? Or maybe comedy is more important.
When there are so many different genres is it really fare to compare a shonen to a slow thought provoking story like Lain? Does something like konosuba get no recognition because it's a comedy?
I don't really like top X lists because they rarely take such considerations into context.

Super and GT are two different flavors of dogshit. Super has the "superior" fights, character cast and story execution. GT has the "superior" aesthetic, characterization of the main cast and ideas. Both have dogshit animation and mediocre soundtracks. GT is the Goku show, while Super is the Goku and Vegeta show

Yeah Goku was less of a manchild ,but Vegeta also didn't regress from his character development from the Buu saga where he mellowed out and accepted Goku as a superior fighter like he did in Super. GT also allowed Goten and Trunks to grow up and become real characters that aren't just degraded to be the two halves of Gotenks

but Vegeta as a character didn't evolve in any real way or had any major impact on the story. The first arc he was being controlled by the villain and then by the time we get to Omega Shenron when Goku had achieved SSJ4 which is suppose to be this legendary transformation that Goku had to work to get, off-screen Bulma developed a machine that just gives Vegeta the same ability which is not only stupid but also goes against Vegeta's beliefs. He willingly took a shortcut instead of earning that power like Goku did. I'd say that IS him regressing as a character.

but they weren't real characters at all. Goten does nothing in the story nor does he have much personality while Trunks was basically a non-character and a third wheel. He's bland and doesn't really seem to have a personality of his own and seems more like a self insert if anything while also not doing much in the story aside from going on shitty adventures with Goku and Pan but that's the extent of his character. There wasnt even any real highlights or memorable moments from Trunks on those adventures. Never shined in any capacity.
