Who here actually had Nicktoons Network?

Who here actually had Nicktoons Network?

Being a Zoomer born in 2000, this was how I was introduced to shows like Ren and Stimpy, Invader ZIM, Angry Beavers, and Rocko's Modern Life.

They also aired Rugrats, though I was already very familiar with that show due to it still airing on the main channel regularly until the Late 2000s

I also remember those shows they promoted as Original Series like Kappa Mikey and those odd imported shows like Corneil and Bernie and Yakkity Yak

I didn't have it at my mom's house bc she had basic cable package or no cable depending on money, at my paternal grandparents' we didn't have it bc they just had the regular cable package, BUT

I had it at my maternal grandmother's house because they paid for premium cable. Have fond memories of chilling at that house on a hazy summer 2006 afternoon, my paternal grandparents picking me up as Corneil and Bernie goes off, then getting some fried clams and fries at a fish fry boat by the water. didnt have the best childhood overall but times like that were good times man

I did. It was better than Nickelodeon to me because they showed Dragon Ball Z and all the cartoons, old and new. Nick was taken over by shit sitcoms (except iCarly, which I liked), so Nicktoons was where I went to watch all the cartoons at. Then there was TeenNick, which showed the even older cartoons from the 90s like Hey Arnold that I would watch at night. It was a good time to have cable.

      >Dragon Ball Z
Kai. Not Z . We’re talking pre 2011 Nicktoons Network ,Sadly you’re talking about the rebranding that killed a lot of shows being aired as well as the creative variety of bumpers and short films. Not that the post 2011 era isn’t valid, but you mentioned it, that’s when they started showing reruns of live action stuff

Oops, thanks anon, it's been a while since I watched anything Dragon Ball related. But I watched Nicktoons both pre and post 2011. But U remember the post 2011 more, and watching Dragon Ball Kai. All those shows in that image I remember, some more than others. Kappa Mikey was the shit.

Nickelodeon was the live-action hub. Nicktoons post 2011 was the graveyard of all cartoons that would be aired on Nickelodeon for a few months.

I first saw it at my uncle's house at midnight, it was a magical experience watching Jimmy Neutron past the regular time. We later on got cable and it became a staple of staying up on the weekends in the living room.

Now that you mention it, I have a memory of going to my great aunt's house back in the day, three hour trip and was bored out of my mind as a 9 year old, and I remember sitting in her living room watching Jimmy Neutron Win Lose and Kaboom and it being LONG AS FRICK with commercials

side note, does anyone remember the entrance to jimmy's lab from the Eggpire Strikes Back where his periodic table poster lifts up, a valve opens up, and jimmy gets sucked in? it's never used again in the show but i'm autistic about details like that so i remember it

I remember sitting up late and watching the short film festivals. Do recordings of those specials exist anywhere.

as a decrepit 30 year old, it makes me really happy that some kids a decade younger got a similar line up to what I watched growing up

I saw most of those shows on actual Nick but I watched Kappa Mikey on there.
They also did those pop up video style avatar episodes though right?

    >Bumper is just a clip from a cartoon
    >Actual cartoon is never on the schedule

This shit made me so fricking mad as a kid. They used to play the happy happy joy scene from Ren and Stimpy all the time and all I wanted was to see a full episode but I could never find it anywhere. Other than that pretty comfy channel

Remember that cat Dog clip that used to air all the time but never the actual full episode? It was the one where they went to try and buy a new butt from the rabbit so they could be separated? It got to the point I could recite it from memory and was one of the times the rabbit didn't act like a jackass but never got to see what came of it.

I was born in 96, we got it around 2004 or 2005 iirc and seeing KaBlam for the first time since early childhood was a treat. Finally getting to see all the Oh Yeah Cartoons episodes in full was also neat.

That and reruns of Legends of the Hidden Temple on Nick GAS were the shit

    My fave memories
    >Martin Mystery
    >Making Fiends
    >The short film festivals
    >Oh Yeah & Random Cartoons
    >Three’s Delivery
    >The live action mokumentary bumps implying the toons interact with people like Aang’s tattoo artists
    >The grundge office graphic branding of the commercials/bumpers
    >behind the scene interviews with many nicktoons original creators and voice actors
