honestly, yeah. it both allows supes to operate at full power (he cant just punch Lex away) while at the same time being entirely power-outclassed and forced to rely upon his wits. You get the best of both worlds. add the personality conflict of Lawful vs Chaotic, he really is the perfect antithesis of Supes.

I don't get Cyborg Superman. He's like a one-shot villain who never went away. Even now they shove him in my face and act like I'm supposed to be impressed.

I find his motivation fascinating on own unique it is, he just wants to die (as in, stop existing) and he will take everyone with him if necessary but nothing seems to be able to permanently do the job so he is constantly aiding cosmic level-threats and working toward extinction events to see if they can put him out of his misery

Cause he's a bastard. Literally, he's on Black Manta/Reverse Flash levels of being an absolute bastard. Hal sees himself a daredevil ace who lost everything and has crossed a line.
Henshaw literally used a Luthor plan for his own whim to try and kill Superman and his family but also ruin the lives of Metallo and his sister.
He's the polar opposite of Metallo. He's lost almost all humanity and wants to feel nothingness. All while wearing the symbol of Superman.
