Great! He no longer has any more chances to tarnish the character. I hope the whole DCU gets scrapped MCU too. If they're not willing to do it right they shouldn't even bother.
Barry has no personality, and is only loved by silver age obsessives.
Any chance there was of me learning to like Barry was destroyed by DC editorial's desperate pogrom to ruin Wally, over and over... so that it would somehow force me to like a character that reset my favorite era of DC because he's a selfish, irresponsible dipshit.
Ironically, Barry is the unfixable one now. Good job, Dan and Jim, you fricks.
Apparently Wally is faster but I think you could say something like Barry is more experienced. Tho idk is Wally being faster than Barry new concept or a old one
I don't remember which story it was, probably that reverse flash story you're thinking of, but yeah he stopped holding himself back before Barry's return.
My bad anon. The story I'm referring to is called the return of Barry Allen because Zoom is impersonating him to mess with Wally/ruin Barry reputation. It's pretty early in Waid's run iirc
Flash and Superman both gets shitty wanks when they're in stories not about themselves.
Crossover Superman can't lift a rock to save his life and Crossover Barry can't run faster than the current thug punching him
So how does the speed force work on a cognitive level? Because experiencing the entire life of the universe in the time it takes a normal guy to blink sounds like hell.
The big difference is that Wally spent time as Barry's sidekick for over two decades in real time first, and actually respects him and his legacy. He also got to be the main Flash for over two decades before Barry got brought back.
Miles is more like trying to speedrun Wally's run, without getting that the time put in to the stories made it work.
>Barry isn't even the first. He was just the Flash when the boomers calling the shots at DC were kids so we're stuck with him.
True.
The Flash could have been an example of Heroical Sucession.
We should be at the Fourth Flash by now but Boomers are stuck to the past. That's the real crisis
I’m going to say Wally. The first issue of Flash vol. 2 honestly solidified him for me.
Wally was a kid superhero, so he grew up around the superhero business into adulthood. A lot of writers tended to lean into that experience by making his less idealistic than Barry but more practical. His handling of the Rogues would many times involve actual compromises and dialogues, he was good at understanding when the kid gloves came off, and he even knew when not to be taken advantage of for his heroics. He’s willing to listen to other heroes, but he also won’t take their shit because he knows his power and his experience.
I also loved his dynamic with the Rogues more. There’s more of a sense of tension. As dangerous as Wally is, he NEVER sleeps on Snart and his crew.
The movie flopped bro. Let it go.
I'm not a huge Flash fan, he's basically the opposite of what I look for in a comic, but Jay's alright I guess.
Yeah yeah we already saw your little thread, now run along
So your gonna let 1 absolutely dogshit movie (Hollywood btw) determine your perception of a classic well established character.
Yes.
then your naive
I didn't see a Flash in Gunn's lineup.
Great! He no longer has any more chances to tarnish the character. I hope the whole DCU gets scrapped MCU too. If they're not willing to do it right they shouldn't even bother.
DCEU Barry was poor man's Wally anyway
Barry > Wally
>movie tourist moron ruining a comics thread
every time.
It's Wally.
Barry has no personality, and is only loved by silver age obsessives.

This. DC ruined Wally to make Barry more popular, and gave Barry some of Wallys traits because Barry is fricking shit
>Good job, Dan and Jim, you fricks.
Johns deserves a lot of the blame too
Apparently Wally is faster but I think you could say something like Barry is more experienced. Tho idk is Wally being faster than Barry new concept or a old one
The old idea was that Wally was faster, but held himself back subconsciously in respect of Barry and his legacy.
Does he start going full speed after the return of Barry Allen? Could've sworn he had to stop holding back to stop reverse flash

Nah it's my bad, I'm working off of old memories here when I easily could've double checked and noticed the title you were referring to.
Wally is way more interesting as a solo character and family man and all that. nu Barry's mother trauma stuff is a huge drag. Thanks Geoff!
Wally was THE MOTHERFRICKING FLASH for 23 years until they decided to bring Barry back and sideline Wally for no fricking reason.
>those eyes
Isn't that Barry?
Actually, I think you're right, but this is definitely Wally, despite the eyes.
Remind me why Superman is the overpowered boring one whose stories have no consequences again?
Flash and Superman both gets shitty wanks when they're in stories not about themselves.
Crossover Superman can't lift a rock to save his life and Crossover Barry can't run faster than the current thug punching him

Wally.
Wally, he was my first flash, and will always be my favourite.
Same with Kyle as the lantern. More personality in one of those guys than hal and barry together.
I genuinely don’t know the difference between Barry and Wally, Wally always comes across as the Miles Morales to me

>as the Miles Morales to me
No way.
That only would be truth if Peter died during Secret Wars and Miles took the Spiderman's mantle after this.
Idk
I like Wally more just because of the JLU cartoons, but Barry being the first means he's superior. It's just the way it is unfortunately.
Barry isn't even the first. He was just the Flash when the boomers calling the shots at DC were kids so we're stuck with him.

It should be Wally but Johns and his nostalgiagayging did what it does.
Barry Fans
>Yeah Wally is pretty cool but Barry is my man
Wally Fans
>FRICK BARRY FRICK BARRY FRICK BARRY FRICK BARRY
What's the difference between Barry and Wally anyway? Like how do you even differenciate them if they don't take off their masks?
Wally was drawn with white eyes on his mask where as Barry's real eyes were visible on his mask.
And that's all people fight about?
Wally had the actual personality and character and the better stories before being replaced for nostalgia.
>Who is the superior Flash?
Me I am the superior Flash
it's easily Wally West. the movie/Ezra ruined Barry Allen forever.
Ezra>
West
Jay Garrick because he has a cool helmet.
>Jay because he has a cool helmet
Cinemaphile cannot argue this
/thread
Wally is a way better Flash. Never liked Barry.
Barry is a way better Flash. Never liked Wally.
Barry has Eobard so he’s automatically better.
Practically nobody accepted Ezra as Barry, so as a character he's still fine as far as I'm concerned.

he misuses 'cerebral' here and it always bothered the shit out of me.
