>I honestly don't see him as an adult, I count him as superboy
It's not a matter of being an adult or not. It's a moniker, and in the comics Jon is a Superman.
I honestly don't see him as an adult, I count him as superboy
If we're going by Super hero names that they go by now then there's only one Superboy in that image. >Clark - Superman >Jon - Superman >Kenan - Superman >Connor - Superboy >Kara - Supergirl >Natasha - Steel >the twins have no individual super hero name.
>Prime is still seething
Not at all, he's put down his comics, gone outside, and touched grass. Now he spends his time with hanging out with his girlfriend Laurie and taking care of Krypto
frick that, any shitty writer at DC who will bring him back to suffer in some new shitty event will be considered non canon to me, guy suffered enough and was given a happy ending, his story has ended.
Was it ever addressed why Prime suddenly grew up when he had remained a teenager for years? I am not talking about his black suit version but the most recent one.
They lost the right to "Superboy" at some point so they just aged him up and called him "Superman Prime", then they didn't bother undoing the change when they got the rights back.
>then they didn't bother undoing the change when they got the rights back.
But they kinda did. Superboy was still quite a bit physically younger than Superman back then (after he lost the power up), even if he called himself Superman instead of Superboy. He just suddenly appeared as an adult again in death metal.
It’s not a question of necessary. It’s about telling a story. And Superman books embracing the family aspect is good. They being so isolated from one another was always bad.
they fought alonhgside each other twice at least, once against that guy who was killing supermen trough the universe... advent... prophecy whateverhisname was and again when Kenan was invited to the states by Lex
Kenan has super speed and can be in Metropolis in seconds. It's weird because he's only ever hung out with Clark and Kara before but a friendly rivalry with Conner is fine
Natasha and John Henry have been on the periphery of the Super family for decades, and they live in Metropolis. They're grandfathered in
Kon-El, clone of Superman/Lex
Natasha Irons - Steel's niece
Kenan Kong - Super-Man of China
Supergirl - Clark's cousin
Super*groan*man - Jon Kent - aged up biological son of Lois and Clark
Super Twins -a couple of Warworld urchins that Clark adopted when he and the Authority toppled Mongul who Im convinced is just there to appease Kid Jon's fans since they cant age him down now because that would be "queer erasure"
I don't believe you. I'd give you a pass on most of them, but Natasha and Superboy have been around since the 90s. Natasha has been running around in the Steel costume since 2003.
Do people not like the Steels? It always seemed to me like they were some of the more popular black comic characters.
Also, yeah, like the other anon said, Jon used to be actually really liked when he was a kid, nowadays he's a very polarizing character.
The Warworld twins are way too new to judge, and they're also pretty blatant young Jon replacements, so who knows how long they'll last.
>Do people not like the Steels?
People like Steel, but this upcoming sounds like another touch passing story with Henry passing the mantle to his niece. Worf from Star Trek TNG is writing it so who knows how it will turn out.
I always thought the idea was that they shared the mantle, except for those few times she had her own unique hero name, if you ask me, they should try that again.
Here's the premise >The Metropolis of the future is here today, but can it survive a terrorist who’s out for revenge against its builder, John Henry Irons—a.k.a. Steel—and his company, Steelworks…and who possesses secrets that could undo everything John has worked so hard to build? While John’s professional life is firing on all cylinders, his personal life is even better, as his on-again, off-again relationship with Lana Lang might be back on, permanently. Now he must decide whether it’s time to give up being Steel once and for all. But does John even know who he would be without his superhero identity? How does the other Steel—John’s niece, Natasha Irons—feel about his momentous decision? And does any of that matter if Steelworks crumbles around him when he lacks the superpowers to fight back?
Words cannot express how much I dislike the jackets, they look specially jarring because Clark himself is wearing his classic suit, while everyone else around him wears some kind of uniform like they're his cheerleaders or body guards, the "S" should be enough to let you all know that they are indeed the Super-Family, and even then, they don't need so many House of El symbols in their clothes holy shit, why do they have them in their shoulders?
They're also just way too busy in general, which again, is jarring to see when they're all next to Clark with his sleek and simple classic costume, it's not ideal.
I liked it and my opinion is always objectively right.

It had moments, but a lot of times it just made him look like a fatass because artists. He's a twunk, not a linebacker.

Well, maybe I liked linebacker Conner better.
Also, the way artists draw his punk look nowadays makes him look like a total gay, it looked fine back in the day, it doesn't look good today.

Maybe you should stop claiming to read comics if you can't handle spandex and jackets.
Also, I don't think I love Kenan being here.
First of all, he's the THIRD male young adult Superperson around, as if Conner and aged up Jon weren't enough, and with Kara aged up to Nightwing age, a bit of age diversity would be nice, maybe if Jon had been allowed to grow semi-regularly he could be the young teen of the group by now but whatever.
Second, he doesn't know English, which severely limits his interactions, sure, Clark, Kara, and other conveniently smart characters can know Chinese, but that's still less than most people, and Kenan isn't one to just suddenly learn English super fast, so I guess he's just stuck at repeating English catchphrases.
And third, he feels REALLY tacked on in the Super-Family, like they were just so desperate for another Super-character that they dragged him all the way from China, which is where most of his adventures originally took place, just so they could have a bigger cast, he didn't actually have that many interactions with the Supes, sure it makes sense that he's friendly with them, but again, considering he has his whole country to protect, and doesn't even fully know English, I really don't think his inclusion in this comic is very justified, like, you don't see Batman calling members from Batman Inc. to formally join his main Bat-Family.
this, he should still be tight with the JLC and I hope they will explain one day why they are now part of the Great 20, if that is still a thing because they werent in good terms with the CCP when JLC ended.
Also, bring back Alpaca, I prefer her anarchist Joker Schtick than Punchline's whatever
>if that is still a thing
It is if someone (Johns) acknowledges it again, otherwise, they're just JLC. >Also, bring back Alpaca
They seem to be doing just that in Batman Inc.
I don't want to be a party pooper but do we really need thisamy super characters? Don't they feel a bit redundant the more of them there are ? Same for the batfamily, the flash family, etc
Kenan is fine, he just needs to get back to China, he makes no sense here, it's like if Batman had someone from Batman Inc. permanently join him in Gotham.
>redundant
Never understood this argument for Superhero families, it's not like they're all exact clones of the main character, at worst they have the same powers or fighting style, but the characters, what I'd argue really matters, are usually pretty distinct.
Nah, I think it's about time Superman got a big family like Batman or Flash, I just wish it was better, like I don't think Kenan belongs here at all, I'm not a fan of what they've done with Jon at all, and I'm sure there's probably other obscure Superman characters they could've brought back and developed for this newer version of the Super-Family.
Also, yeah, Power Girl should definitely be part of this, it's very weird to me that they don't include her.
truthfully it has more to do with the weaknesses of the current writers. The batpeople are a pretty good example. They all used to be fairly 3-dimmensionally characters with their own strengths, weaknesses, supporting casts, etc. Gotham was also huge so they chopped the city up a lot of tmes. Tim/steph in the suburbs, Cass downtown, Bruce where the big shit is going down with whoever is available on call, etc. Not to mention the times each of them had to frick off from the city to help their other super friends
Now they're all flanderized to hell, their only supporting casts appear to be each other, their skillsets are a lot more generalized, etc. The overall narratives are also a lot weaker. This even extends beyond the heroes
We don't need all this window dressing, we need good comics.
This superfamily stuff is moronic.
[...]
It's not like the characters are ever written well.
So the problem is jut bad writing, it's not like super-hero families are anything else than an extended cast of characters for a respective series, it can work, it just needs good writing.
The core concept with doing these families is to have "Superman, but as an X". It works out alright when you have something like "Superman, but as a girl", "Superman, but as a kid", or "Superman, but as Ironman", but less so with "Superman, but as a Chinese", "Superman, but as a gay", or "Superman, but as a girl as Ironman."
Of course, you can get away with anything if the writing was good enough, but a lot of the effort put into these characters started and ended with their concepts.
We don't need all this window dressing, we need good comics.
This superfamily stuff is moronic.
>redundant
Never understood this argument for Superhero families, it's not like they're all exact clones of the main character, at worst they have the same powers or fighting style, but the characters, what I'd argue really matters, are usually pretty distinct.

okay...
The Warworld kids are interesting and there's a lot they can write around those two especially now that New Gods are involved
They deserve a big role in Supercomics way more than teen Jon
There I said it
>The Warworld kids are interesting and there's a lot they can write around those two especially now that New Gods are involved
They are boring as hell and tying the New Gods to them is pathetic.
The only benefit they have is that they aren’t homosexuals like Jon Kent (yet)
I just wasn't interested in Warworld at all, maybe they'll do something cool with the twins here, but I dunno, I feel like the family hasn't even done anything yet.
New Gods were never cool. New Gods were never interesting. Fricking kryptonian wannabes can’t decide if they wanna be olympian deities or dumb startrek aliens (aka weird human perverts wearing silly costumes) sitting on a small planet in the middle of nowhere picking their bellybutton lint and pretending they rule the universe because they whip a bunch of slaves in a slave pit just like humans have for all of history
They’re literally just aliens but they’re shittier and more boring and less interesting in design and concept than every other alien race in DC, be that Kryptonians or Martians or the Thanagarians. They’re less interesting than the Rann-Black folk.
Hey
Anyone recalls the name of that grotesque comic where some sort of virus/parasite starts the apocalypse by turning everyone into savages that only want to rape, murder and torture anything that breathes?
Conner Kent, Kara Zor El, Natalia Irons, Jon Kent, Kong Kenan, Clark Kent, and a pair of twins who are either Kryptonian adjacent or Daxamite rescued from Warworld.
Superman
Supergirl
Superman's gay son who is also called Superman so DC can say Superman is gay without fricking up Clark
90s Superboy
two orphans Clark adopted or something while dicking around in space that will be forgotten in like 3 years
They're the new Super Family.
Was it necessary to have 4 superboys and 3 supergirls?
not as bad as 5 robins
I try not to think about it and ignore it
robins grow out of it though at least til the universe resets
Don't forget 2 Supermen.
I honestly don't see him as an adult, I count him as superboy
>I honestly don't see him as an adult, I count him as superboy
It's not a matter of being an adult or not. It's a moniker, and in the comics Jon is a Superman.
supergay
Clark is gay for Bruce so that name doesn't really work for Jon.
Supersodomite
If we're going by Super hero names that they go by now then there's only one Superboy in that image.
>Clark - Superman
>Jon - Superman
>Kenan - Superman
>Connor - Superboy
>Kara - Supergirl
>Natasha - Steel
>the twins have no individual super hero name.
- Superman
Ahem, he's Super-Man.
The real superboy needs to come back and thin the herd again
NO!
He had a good ending!!
Let him have his good ending!!!
You just know he is seething just at the sight of all those wannabes, the clone was already too much for him
He’s going outside and banging his girl. He doesn’t care about modern DC Comics.
>Prime is still seething
Not at all, he's put down his comics, gone outside, and touched grass. Now he spends his time with hanging out with his girlfriend Laurie and taking care of Krypto
He’ll be back. They always come snivelling back.
frick that, any shitty writer at DC who will bring him back to suffer in some new shitty event will be considered non canon to me, guy suffered enough and was given a happy ending, his story has ended.
His mission is incomplete, there are so many failed characters now, characters he is called upon to rid the world of, just as he did before.

But they kinda did. Superboy was still quite a bit physically younger than Superman back then (after he lost the power up), even if he called himself Superman instead of Superboy. He just suddenly appeared as an adult again in death metal.
Technically, there's only 1 Superboy, but 3 Supermen.
To be fair there's not a whole lot of other hero names they can go for and keep the S.
Supernova?
It’s not a question of necessary. It’s about telling a story. And Superman books embracing the family aspect is good. They being so isolated from one another was always bad.
The story in OP was boring though and didn’t even need every character.
Nah it was pretty good and the family stuff especially was a highlight.
What family aspect? Most of these dudes ain't related. Hell, Kenan doesn't even live in the same continent.
Kenan's only real tie to the Superman family is through New 52 Superman who was unceremoniously super-killed-off
they fought alonhgside each other twice at least, once against that guy who was killing supermen trough the universe... advent... prophecy whateverhisname was and again when Kenan was invited to the states by Lex
Family isn’t just about blood relations.
Kenan has super speed and can be in Metropolis in seconds. It's weird because he's only ever hung out with Clark and Kara before but a friendly rivalry with Conner is fine
Natasha and John Henry have been on the periphery of the Super family for decades, and they live in Metropolis. They're grandfathered in
Unless they brought back Lana there's only two supergirls. The one in the back is Steel (John Henry's niece).
Lana was Superwoman
The twins don't have hero names yet.
Where's the dog
90s Superboy, chinaman superman, homosexual Superman. I dont know who the kids or the robot is
Kon-El, clone of Superman/Lex
Natasha Irons - Steel's niece
Kenan Kong - Super-Man of China
Supergirl - Clark's cousin
Super*groan*man - Jon Kent - aged up biological son of Lois and Clark
Super Twins -a couple of Warworld urchins that Clark adopted when he and the Authority toppled Mongul who Im convinced is just there to appease Kid Jon's fans since they cant age him down now because that would be "queer erasure"
So where are Steel and the Eradicator these days? They're more recognizable than half of these others.
Steel is a supporting character in Superman and will be the lead character in the recently announced Steelworks mini.
Eradicator is shit and is only known for appearing in Death of Superman.
>Eradicator is shit
You say that like none of the characters in OP's pic are worse.
Eradicator was great during the Tomasi/Jurgens run as Zod's attack dog
Eradicator returning to his rightful place as the solar panel-skinned Krypton villain was the best thing for him.
“We will save you too, Kal-El.”
>i only recognize Superman and Supergirl
That's because you don't read comics, Anon. You just want to stir up shit.
I do read comics homosexual
Then why don't you recognize characters who has been established for years or decades?
>reading comics means you read every book and know every character
moron
>moron
If you did then you'd know who based Superman of China is
I don't believe you. I'd give you a pass on most of them, but Natasha and Superboy have been around since the 90s. Natasha has been running around in the Steel costume since 2003.
The real question is, do they think anyone cares about the "Superfamily" outside of Conner and Kara and maybe Kong.
People use to like Jon when he was a kid.
Now people only pretend to like him because he is gay now.
The Jon in Chaykin's Son of Superman Elseworlds book was a better teen son than what's in the monthly books now.
I like John Henry Irons, I just cant get myself to care for Natasha
>Do people not like the Steels?
People like Steel, but this upcoming sounds like another touch passing story with Henry passing the mantle to his niece. Worf from Star Trek TNG is writing it so who knows how it will turn out.
John has been passing the torch to Natasha for like 15 years now
I always thought the idea was that they shared the mantle, except for those few times she had her own unique hero name, if you ask me, they should try that again.
Here's the premise
>The Metropolis of the future is here today, but can it survive a terrorist who’s out for revenge against its builder, John Henry Irons—a.k.a. How does the other Steel—John’s niece, Natasha Irons—feel about his momentous decision? And does any of that matter if Steelworks crumbles around him when he lacks the superpowers to fight back?
I don't like John going after Lana as it feels like Clark sloppy seconds every time.
I liked it in Lana's book when she was Superwoman
It felt less like John getting Clark's sloppy seconds and more like Lana moving on with her life
The alternative is she marry Pete Ross again and nobody wants to see that
Steel has the problem of being one of the Supermen "replacement" when Superman was gonna be brought back and since is always around.
Being inspired by Superman isn't much when half the DCverse would probably say they are/were.
Steel doesn’t have a problem
Words cannot express how much I dislike the jackets, they look specially jarring because Clark himself is wearing his classic suit, while everyone else around him wears some kind of uniform like they're his cheerleaders or body guards, the "S" should be enough to let you all know that they are indeed the Super-Family, and even then, they don't need so many House of El symbols in their clothes holy shit, why do they have them in their shoulders?
They're also just way too busy in general, which again, is jarring to see when they're all next to Clark with his sleek and simple classic costume, it's not ideal.
it's both lazy and infringing on Conner's look
Jacket Conner is worst Conner so they can keep the gay outfits
Get out of here Geoff.
T-Shirt Conner was the actual worst
His teenage angst increased proportionally with his clothing. Jacket Conner was a literal abomination
>T-Shirt Conner was the actual worst
frick you, it was simplicity kino
It was garbage and everyone hated it.
I liked it and my opinion is always objectively right.
It had moments, but a lot of times it just made him look like a fatass because artists. He's a twunk, not a linebacker.

You have to be severely challenged to keep up with this inanity.
At least Superboy Prime got a happy ending.

I would kill off Jon Kent, the Warworld kids, Natasha, and Kenan Kong.
Conner and Kara can live. Also Krypto.
We don’t need a Superman Family team bigger than that.
Superman's family at most should have been, super girl, power girl and his son
Nah, I think it's about time Superman got a big family like Batman or Flash, I just wish it was better, like I don't think Kenan belongs here at all, I'm not a fan of what they've done with Jon at all, and I'm sure there's probably other obscure Superman characters they could've brought back and developed for this newer version of the Super-Family.

Not really, power girl would ruin the gay vibes

He’s literally right there in the picture. He’s the one to the left of Kara
thats Connnor, Im talking about the N52 one..
Do yourself a favor and read New Super-Man.
Was it actually good?
yes it was, one of the better Rebirth books
Sadly, yes. Probably the best ongoing Superman book in years
very good totally worthy it
Why is he Super-Man and not Superman?
Gene Yuen Lang said he did that intentionally as a reference to how sometimes when Chinese immigrants translate their names they add hyphens
Why is the art so painfully gay, like straight out of Tumblr tier.
You're trying too hard anon. You don't know gay until you've read a Tim Drake comic post-2021.
>tim continues to act exactly as he did before except he has a different blonde love interest and a terrible artist making everyone do weird poses
okay...
>When everyone is super
>no one will be.
Maybe you should read comics to find out
I recommend you don't. There's no benefit.
But there’s benefit in b***hing about not knowing who characters are?
No, that's also a waste of time.
Best avoid all this shit.
>superman

>jon kent
>supergirl
>steel(natasha irons)
the only ones i don't recognize is the chinese superman and the super twins(?)
And now you know why I stopped reading DC shit.

>literal gayface art
>every single book is now a family book
Clark

God I miss Chris.

hey, Simonson did well with Orion
I like the new gods 🙁
What's up with Kenan' weird haircut? Also, does Natasha Irons go by Steel too or does she have her own name?
I kill everyone including clark and make the super animals the main characters. The horse sleeps with lois
Hey
Anyone recalls the name of that grotesque comic where some sort of virus/parasite starts the apocalypse by turning everyone into savages that only want to rape, murder and torture anything that breathes?
you're probably thinking of Garth Ennis' OC donutsteel turd, Crossed
Bingo. Thank you, Anon.

Conner Kent, Kara Zor El, Natalia Irons, Jon Kent, Kong Kenan, Clark Kent, and a pair of twins who are either Kryptonian adjacent or Daxamite rescued from Warworld.
Why are nu-Superman fans a bunch of gay, onions zoomers?
Because Superman is gay. And Zoomers are gay.
zoomers dont buy comic books
remember what they never gave you
thanks for making it hurt

Jacket-Boy.
Jacket-Girl.

Jacket-Gay.
People's Republic of Jacket.
Jacket Twins 1 and 2.
Underoos Dad.
Superman
Supergirl
Superman's gay son who is also called Superman so DC can say Superman is gay without fricking up Clark
90s Superboy
two orphans Clark adopted or something while dicking around in space that will be forgotten in like 3 years
oh I forgot Chinese Bootleg Superman(surprisingly not terrible) and Steel's gay niece who is also steel because comics must have two of every hero
doesnt matter they wont be here long
