walt was at least dying and had been treated like a joke for years. i don't think walt would have killed jesse either, unlike with chrissy. walt didn't even kill hank. also tony went to a therapist (gay).

    Tony because he's whiny

I think Walt has a higher kill count than Tony. At least on-screen since we don't know how many Tony killed before he was a capo.

walt, at least tony had an excuse with how horrible his parents were, walt was always a petty homosexual

Tony loses basically all his charm by the end. Not really a fair comparison since the showrunners gave Walt an ultimately redemptive arc. Tony by the end is a complete and total piece of shit incapable of doing anything decent.

Didn't Vince kinda ruin it by making Walter the good guy in the end

I would say Walt's repemption is the central point of the show, and for him to have an ending like Tony would've been what ruined the show.

The point of Breaking Bad is that you have a choice. Good or evil is not deterministic, but a matter of free will. Good people can go bad, bad people can go good. To not allow for Walt to have a dignified end makes the show unnecessarily and unrealistically nihilistic.

this, its ultimately what stops it from being another sopranos clone

Nah because Walt started out as a good but very angry guy. Having him turn slowly evil and more confident then finally good and completely confident was kino and perfect

Walt wanted to be domineering and powerful, he didn't want to destroy the lives of absolutely everyone around him. in his final moments he didn't regret all of his actions but he made up for things he never intended to do
doesn't make him a good guy, just meant he was never cartoonishly pure evil

    Tony by a mile

    Tony
    >Greedy
    >Fat
    >Evil
    >Rich
    >Hypocrite
    >Traitorous
    >gave Chris a Toblerone but also killed him (evens out)

    Walt
    >Insane
    >Desperate
    >Loyal to friends and family
    >Somehow perpetually poor despite Meth empire
    >Eats onions bacon (cares about animals)
    >Feeds underprivileged mexican children an all-natural plant based diet
    >Has personally killed numerous dangerous criminals
    >Helped Jesse overcome his heroin addiction

    Walter's a saint

Tony created Meadow and Walter created Walt Jr

Walt jr brings joy to everyone by being a stuttering moron who makes even incels feel better about themselves but meadow brings me great joy with her breasts. It's hard to call.

nature vs nurture. Tony was born into his environment, and could have been Kevin Finnity under different circumstances. Walt found evil on his own.

Ironically, Walt always felt more like a narcissistic power fantasy to me. After he "became" Heisenberg, there aren't a lot of moments of humanity or realism to his character. Tony is a temperamental sociopath, but his humanity never really faded throughout the series. He's showed insecurity, uncertainty, anger, depression, jealousy, etc. Walt just became a flanderized "badass" without compelling nuance and for that I think he's the worse person.

recently watched all of the Sopranos and want to touch on a few things that disappointed me.
    1. Tony did not beat the Priest's ass and kill him. the whole Priest/Carmela thing happened in Season 1, immediately I was like, "oh shit tony's gonna beat his ass and kill him". never happened
    2. Tony didn't find out who raped Milfy, beat his ass and kill him

How was Walt evil? He simply capitalized on an underutilized fungible market and killed other degenerates. I’d say he was revenue neutral in the evil department

Ya but he did it all for the wrong reasons out of pride and greed. He was never just a businessman

Tony was more likable. Remember when they stole the wine from those bikers? I'm not an Italian but I probably would have been great friends with the Soprano family and they probably would have let me join too, and I probably would have become a made man in 5-10 years

Paulie would make you pay him 3k a month and would threaten to kill you if you dared tell Tone.

Tony and it's not even close. They're both pieces of shit, mind you, but Tony is way worse. He may not have started off as bad but he definitely was by the time he was killed in the restaurant

You either have to be moronic or evil quen you turn down multiple attempts of universe to give you redemption, tony was given so many chances and every single time he decided to go his way

    >tony beats the shit out of jackie jr because jackie jr is trying to join the family business despite tony saying no
