They should have said "Yeah that's the point you decrepit walking corpse." Wonder how he would have reacted. No one's talked back to this boomer frick in 40 years, that's why he's got such an ego.
Who cares, I'd rather be homeless than answer to some egotistical mummy for 18 hours a day. It's a country of total pussies. I was homeless for years I'd do it again if the choice were there.
I felt bad for them but yeah that was an incredibly low EQ moment from the nerds. Imagine trying to woo the embassador of hand drawn, wholesome animation in Japan with a pitch for AI generated gore animation.
Miyazaki. He was right about the project being a waste of time but his takedown was just performative moral grandstanding for the cameras. Hate phonies more than nerds.
Miyazaki saw the writing on the wall. He knew what anime would become if these homosexuals kept pushing further and further into letting the tools do all the heavy lifting and the creators themselves put in minimal effort. Anime now looks like absolute garbage, covered in computer particle effects, CG dolls instead of being actually drawn characters and other horseshit
well they went from the highest quality hand drawn kino to shoveling out as much fanservice trash as they can nowadays and a huge portion of the animation is done overseas by koreans or chinese animators and then finished off in japan
obviously the quality will go to shit
It's probably more he realized he was 90 his wife was dead and iirc he said he wasn't a good parent so it was just acceptance, goro went to school for agriculture and architecture. I don't think the guy ever actually wanted to be a cartoonist.
The nerds
for just sitting there with the dumbass mouths hanging open instead of defending themselves.
If they believed in their technology, they should be able to stick up for it. But they didn't and Miyazaki objectively won that bout.
How is Miyazaki still able to make all of these movies while western animation masters like Don Bluth haven't been able to get shit off the ground for decades?
because like James Cameron, Miyazaki is one the few directors who give some credence to 'The Great Man' theory. He actually goes in dirty for every project and is prepared to kill both himself and the studio for the finished product
When Miyazaki dies, what will happen? Is his son going to have the studio? Is he competent enough to carry on where his father left off, or will he just sell it all and say frick it?
the nerds, Miyazaki was right, AI is satanic shit
This was said when AI wasn't a big deal back then
>AI is like so problem- unbased and satanic am I right fellow channers?
Computers ruined animation
>spirited away was all scanned and digitally smoothed
Miyazaki is a bitter old butthole. He’s the Alan Moore of Japan.
His best film is still Castle of Cagliostro. Also the only film he's released in 4k afaik
They should have said "Yeah that's the point you decrepit walking corpse." Wonder how he would have reacted. No one's talked back to this boomer frick in 40 years, that's why he's got such an ego.
They would have been destroyed. Japanese culture is all about treating your boss like an infallible god king.
And thats a good thing.
>t. boomer

Being homeless is one of my biggest fears. How did you stop being homeless?
Miyazaki would've knocked out them on the spot and then pin their hands to table and forged their hands anew for proper animating
The boomer. Boomers are always wrong
We need more moralistic buttholes in our life, so yes, Miyazaki is right, at least he doesn't surrender his imagination to the speak and spell
The guys you created it for thinking Miyazaki would like it for some reason and then crying when he didn't.

Miyazaki directed an episode of Lupin the 3rd where the character fights against a ChatGPT heist prediction. He was ahead of the curve since the 70s

Miyazaki was right and did nothing wrong
well they went from the highest quality hand drawn kino to shoveling out as much fanservice trash as they can nowadays and a huge portion of the animation is done overseas by koreans or chinese animators and then finished off in japan

Apparently he liked his son's later shitty film.
Guess age gets to all of us.
Earthsea had a lot to say about death and optimism
It's fun to guess at which point in the film did Miyazaki leave the screening for a smoke
It's probably more he realized he was 90 his wife was dead and iirc he said he wasn't a good parent so it was just acceptance, goro went to school for agriculture and architecture. I don't think the guy ever actually wanted to be a cartoonist.

he owns the entirety of his studio and production process outright so there's no producers or executives meddling in his shit
SHE WAS 12 YEARS OLD YOU SICK FRICK
Why does this trigger Cinemaphile so hard? He made a great lecture about storytelling that draws from real life and you get mad at him.
When Miyazaki dies, what will happen? Is his son going to have the studio? Is he competent enough to carry on where his father left off, or will he just sell it all and say frick it?
He dies, he dies. Other "auteurs" will come along as desired by the capitalist marketing machine
disney will buy the rights and do lots of live-action movies
currently his films are being distributed by Shout Factory. kinda ironic that they have Miyazaki, Carpenter, etc. maybe I'm just getting old
