Henry Rollins. The dude is so fricking insecure that he went into that record shop looking for an argument even though he was hosting for someone he respected. The person that shouted out to him was an actual fan and he immediately thought they were making fun of him

why is he so insecure though, you'd think a guy this old would figure out his childhood traumas by now

Both. Henry Rollins is a fat washed up loser who is coasting off some band from the 80s that weren't even good back then. Trying to act the hard man.

The hipsters were so braindead on pitchfork and adult swim that they thought shouting the name of an album was some sort of witty comment.

In a just world all would be beheaded and their bodies cast into the dirt, in'shallah.

that's what fans do, is it not? it's moronic they do but Rollins acts like he's never gone out in public before and is paranoid as frick that "cool hipsters" might be fricking with him

      >shouting the name of an album was some sort of witty comment
It's the name of one of his books which implies the person may be fan or at least aware of his greater work outside of music, making Rollins' reaction even more bizarre. They may be hipsters but that's his core audience.

yeah, Rollins was just going full autismode and had his guard up and immediately took offense. the fact that he tried to use the woman he was with's story to make the person feel bad was the cringiest part of the entire thing

probably made his guest more uncomfortable than anyone. totally misread the room and thought friends laughing at the fan freaking out was them mocking him.

It's actually hilarious how many times Rollins has been caught on film being a prick at the weirdest times. OP's video, the first one with Nardwuar, and the one where some young fan interviews him.

i just watched this for the first time holy shit how cringe.

a roided up ape like rollins trying his best to intimidate some scrawny fresh out of high school kid and looking like an absolute moron.

How'd this guy never get jumped.

absolutely agree. i don't know how the record store video makes me seethe even more. most likely because he tries to use his guest as a pawn in the matter and she is obviously uncomfortable.

props to the kid for accusing him of selling out to his face even while being smaller than all of them

Another one is him seething during one of his shows about a punk rock panel he did Johnny Rotten, with Rollins claiming he was going to knock Rotten out and that at one point he supposedly refused to let go when they shook hands. You can watch the clip on YouTube and Rollins does frick all except sit quitely while Johnny Rotten dominates the whole thing because he is genuinely a lunatic who doesn't give a frick what people think, other punk rockers included. The hand shake is pathetic, you can see Rollins tries to grab on to his hand but Rotten doesn't even seem to notice and just pulls it away.

I went to one of Rollin's standup lecture shows back when I was an impressionable teen. I was sitting next to a guy with down-syndrome and his sister/carer. When Rollins started talking the down-syndrome guy starting making loud excited noises and would occasionally shout something unintelligible. Rollins, with the stage lights in his eyes, can't see who's making the noise so he assumes he's being heckled. He starts raging about drunk people and how weak they are, and what a shithead this guy making noise is. The guy next to me keeps making noises while his sister tries in vain to quieten him. Rollins now threatens to kick the guy's ass. Other people in the crowd are joining in, yelling for the guy to shut-up, while people close enough to see that he has special needs are trying to explain what is going on. Eventually his sister takes him out of the building. I guess she overestimated his capacity to behave during the show.

With hindsight it was pretty funny that all these ultra-pc lefty types were unwittingly threatening violence against someone with a disability.
