The trick is that for the majority of the video Lindsay is off-camera and only slightly appears at the edge of the frame sometimes. All I could tell was that there was Jenny talking and filming, someone in feminine clothing I assumed was a real woman but was never talking, and a gay male friend who was talking a lot but always stayed out of view. In the dinner scene it became apparent that Jenny was only sitting with one person, she identified that person as her "sister" and that gay male voice was still present in the clips. That's when I realized Jenny's sister was a troony, then later on in the video her whole body and face appear on camera and it's even more obvious.

I think the Disney parks are just really cool places that have attractions like nothing else in the world. Universal is the only theme park chain in America that even attempts to do the things Disney does. It's not just about the rides, it's about being immersed in the theming. It's about how fun it is just to be there and to take it all in. And even though they've been making tons of decisions that fans don't like lately, there's still a lot that people love, and not much else like it.
Wanting to go to Disney for a family vacation isnt the same as being a Disney Adult who goes 10 times a year. Disney Adults have something that makes them value Disney more than usual, if brings them a sense of peace, which would translate to it being a cope. I dont think this applies to absolutely every Disney Adult, but id say a large percentage it does apply to.

I watched it because she does good videos and hasn't out one out in a long time. I also dislike SW and never liked it (ST FTW), but knowing about what a disaster this hotel was and fascinated by amusement park stuff, it was honestly a thorough and constantly engaging analysis of what made it such a failure. Ultimately, it just didn't seem very fun. You're locked in a windowless interior for teo days doing cosplay like it's your job and have to interact with people playing characters (a situation that literally makes me want to kill myself whenever it's presented). Looked like an overpriced, drab, not particularly fun experience. I could imagine maybe little kids enjoying it but even then it seemed more like pointless busywork than anything. Now imagine being an adult having to do that on your precious time off, and an expensive vacation at that. I'd rather lay on a beach in Key West getting drunk in a high-end resort for a week instead.
She went there in person and broke down every little thing about the experience and basically said "It was not worth the 3k per person price tag" which I could argue that can be applied to most everything.

As bad as new Disney is, having just recently visited both Disneyland and Universal I have to say that Universal still feels quite ghetto. Disney still has some uncanny tech that makes it impossible to be unhappy, everything still for the most part fits together, there’s a real fascistic dedication to creating a wholesome experience. Universal feels like isolated theme park attractions stuck in a lot and it’s harder to ignore the fat smelly hordes, even though they’re pretty much the same as those at Disney, maybe slightly poorer/local. That being said I had no real connection to disney movies growing up besides toy story so I have no affinity for the IP. The disney parks right now are in an abysmal state, I stopped going. I definitely think it's a weird coping thing, I've noticed a lot of them are fat-asses too that talk more about the food than the actual rides or theming which seems like another arrested development thing. Went to universal orlando earlier this year and while a lot of it doesn't hold up in comparison to disney it is a much better experience overall right now

May I interest you in the growing Halloween industry and sister escape room industry? I just went to the Midwest Haunters Convention. A whole field based around live practical effects and costuming and set design.
Sounds pretty based. I should try an escape room, I just assumed most were pretty underwhelming. I'm glad the horror community is keeping a lot of that type of stuff alive and moving forward although I'm not big into the genre
Escape Rooms were underwhelming in Gen 1, but they've gotten pretty good. This is specifically because of the Halloween Haunted House people, who realized they could run a proper attraction year round. (Formerly it was just October and the obligatory Christmas event nobody goes to)
So now they're all these intricate themed experiences. Lots of them are crappy though, so check out reviews. Id say 2/3 are genuinely cool if you like live effects and set design, with the final 1/3 being gay cash grabs for kids. Number one thing to look for is that it's at least an hour. Any shorter and its a ripoff.

I watched it over the course of a few days. It’s an amazing piede of journalism. Super comprehensive; correlates starcruiser with similar past disney projects (some star wars, some other inferactive adventure experiences); gets into the guts of whether the app is really tracking and responding to your actions with interactive content or just randomizing guest event assignments.
I like it because while she loves disney and its products, she tells it like it is and isn't a bold-headed simp for the company, despite them bending over backwards to please her.
The fact that she knows the app is an iteration from the old Kim Possible one from 15 years ago and hasn't been overhauled properly for modern events is pretty interesting. Especially as it shows the parks just don't want to spend what is necessary to do things right.

Probably to some degree, yeah. She's in this weird limbo where she has autistic tendencies but is somewhat self-aware of them. If you listen to her talking to the character actors, for example, you'll notice she puts on a voice like she's playing pretend with a child and it sounds self-conscious and awkwardly inauthentic. I think it's because she has just enough self-awareness to realize what she's doing is embarrassing but not enough shame to completely stop her from doing it.
If she was once worked at Disney, then her voice changing probably came from doing that and she just continues to do it due to muscle memory, because I can see Disney telling their workers to talk to everyone like they are a little kid.

I think the idea was a good one, they should have tweaked some things like price and made the acting stuff the kind of thing you can choose to participate in or ignore. I think that might be one of the few things that changed. A podcast I listen to went and they seemed to be fine having a character but they went towards the end of the run while Jenny was close to the beginning.
That's something they drill into you at Disney when you work there. Guests are NOT allowed to dress up as specific characters. Disney trains these actors hard to tell them to never reciprocate roleplay from guests elsewhere in the park. And Disney obviously sends in 'secret shoppers' to test the cast members. It's incredibly hard to just turn that off for the one attraction that ostensibly allows it.

When I was watching the video I was confused by the fact that her booking only had 2 people on it, her and Lindsay, but I kept hearing some gay guy in the clips who was clearly with them but never showed up on camera. I think it was during the dinner part where I realized that Lindsay WAS the gay guy I kept hearing.
Voice, hands, shoulders, feet, etc. all things that make it so easy to spot.
Voice is an especially strong one because 99% of the time, they either sound like men, or they have an overly breathy overly feminized voice that sounds really uncanny.
The trick is that for the majority of the video Lindsay is off-camera and only slightly appears at the edge of the frame sometimes. In the dinner scene it became apparent that Jenny was only sitting with one person, she identified that person as her "sister" and that gay male voice was still present in the clips. That's when I realized Jenny's sister was a troony, then later on in the video her whole body and face appear on camera and it's even more obvious.

I think the Disney parks are just really cool places that have attractions like nothing else in the world. Universal is the only theme park chain in America that even attempts to do the things Disney does. It's not just about the rides, it's about being immersed in the theming. It's about how fun it is just to be there and to take it all in. And even though they've been making tons of decisions that fans don't like lately, there's still a lot that people love, and not much else like it.
Wanting to go to Disney for a family vacation isnt the same as being a Disney Adult who goes 10 times a year. Disney Adults have something that makes them value Disney more than usual, if brings them a sense of peace, which would translate to it being a cope. I watched it because she does good videos and hasn't out one out in a long time. I also dislike SW and never liked it (ST FTW), but knowing about what a disaster this hotel was and fascinated by amusement park stuff, it was honestly a thorough and constantly engaging analysis of what made it such a failure. Ultimately, it just didn't seem very fun. You're locked in a windowless interior for teo days doing cosplay like it's your job and have to interact with people playing characters (a situation that literally makes me want to kill myself whenever it's presented). Looked like an overpriced, drab, not particularly fun experience. I could imagine maybe little kids enjoying it but even then it seemed more like pointless busywork than anything. Now imagine being an adult having to do that on your precious time off, and an expensive vacation at that. I'd rather lay on a beach in Key West getting drunk in a high-end resort for a week instead.

As bad as new Disney is, having just recently visited both Disneyland and Universal I have to say that Universal still feels quite ghetto. Disney still has some uncanny tech that makes it impossible to be unhappy, everything still for the most part fits together, there’s a real fascistic dedication to creating a wholesome experience. Universal feels like isolated theme park attractions stuck in a lot and it’s harder to ignore the fat smelly hordes, even though they’re pretty much the same as those at Disney, maybe slightly poorer/local. These were both the California versions

I love theme parks and like the disney parks a lot but I hate disney adults. I've always liked special effects, model making, costume design, etc. and good theme parks bring all that to life. That being said I had no real connection to disney movies growing up besides toy story so I have no affinity for the IP. The disney parks right now are in an abysmal state, I stopped going. I definitely think it's a weird coping thing, I've noticed a lot of them are fat-asses too that talk more about the food than the actual rides or theming which seems like another arrested development thing. Went to universal orlando earlier this year and while a lot of it doesn't hold up in comparison to disney it is a much better experience overall right now

May I interest you in the growing Halloween industry and sister escape room industry? I just went to the Midwest Haunters Convention. A whole field based around live practical effects and costuming and set design.

Escape Rooms were underwhelming in Gen 1, but they've gotten pretty good. This is specifically because of the Halloween Haunted House people, who realized they could run a proper attraction year round. (Formerly it was just October and the obligatory Christmas event nobody goes to)
So now they're all these intricate themed experiences. Lots of them are crappy though, so check out reviews. Id say 2/3 are genuinely cool if you like live effects and set design, with the final 1/3 being gay cash grabs for kids. Number one thing to look for is that it's at least an hour. Any shorter and its a ripoff.

Super comprehensive; correlates starcruiser with similar past disney projects (some star wars, some other inferactive adventure experiences); gets into the guts of whether the app is really tracking and responding to your actions with interactive content or just randomizing guest event assignments.

I think the idea was a good one, they should have tweaked some things like price and made the acting stuff the kind of thing you can choose to participate in or ignore. I also felt like it seemed a bit claustrophobic with not enough open looking windows. I'm sad it failed but I think they could still revamp it if they charge less.
I kind of agree. The whole idea was my kind of autism. "No, there's no fricking windows. You're in space." "No, there's no normal food. It's space. Eat the blue shrimp". People who wanted a normal vacation, normal windows etc were missing the point. (Though they should have had massive Space Windows and much larger rooms)

Especially when they have an IP like Star Wars, LOTR would be a good one too. Just hire five dungeons and dragons nerds to write out a bunch of small easy quests for a couple days, it's the easiest thing in the world to make a genuinely cool experience.
Disney's overreliance on park guests spending thousands of dollars for a vacation is fricking insane to me but I guess it usually works. Somehow, despite most people b***hing about being paycheck to paycheck and how hard everything is and the price of a McDouble they have the money to spend on this extremely gay shit with their 3 year old that won't remember any of it. I remember my vacations as a kid were going to a local camp site and hanging out in cabins and hiking around and doing whatever random activities they had for a few days and I thought they were awesome. Because for every 4-5 light hearted fun attempts at roleplaying there were probably an equal amount of hardcore autists that shit up everything and acted like they were the main characters, so it turned them off all people who made up characters.

That's something they drill into you at Disney when you work there. Guests are NOT allowed to dress up as specific characters. Disney trains these actors hard to tell them to never reciprocate roleplay from guests elsewhere in the park. And Disney obviously sends in 'secret shoppers' to test the cast members. It's incredibly hard to just turn that off for the one attraction that ostensibly allows it.
