>woman leaves husband and kids >isn't this so bittersweet?
no its monstrous
I don’t think we were supposed to feel bad for him or sympathize, it was just the fact that they saw through an entire guy’s life story and then ate him, and every plate of spaghetti had a story like that.
Still humanoid enough for it to be cannibalism. Not that I have anything against it. If I found out that we turn into spaghetti from an heroing, I would become a stalker for potential live streamers. You get to see a guy off himself because of his girlfriend and then you'll see me walk in moments later with a fork and knife in hand.
No. The joke in the episode is a blatantly obvious inside joke on all of the stupid, gullible kids watching, who are convinced by their misplaced, unquestioning opinion of the show's "intelligence" that it is somehow "smart" for them to believe that, "nothing really matters".
If human flesh were easily available via some cruelty free method (vat grown for instance), was affordable and there were no potential health concerns to eating it I'm willing to bet there would be tons of people willing to eat it once the initial shock and outrage died down, if only for the sake of novelty.
My problem with the episode is that the family has never given a frick about eating body parts from sentient aliens before. Interdimensional Cable 2 shows that Eyeholes grow out of people's heads and get removed by force, and the post-credits gag shows Jerry grabbing a box from the kitchen. They kept a box with their regular food. Suicide spaghetti should have been absolutely fine for everyone.
suicide hotline is a fricking joke, it's just bored people who aren't allowed to give any real advice. if i had a gun in my hand you can bet your ass these fricks wouldn't convince me to not pull the trigger
I still have to wait for my gun but I seriously have to decide if it would be more funny to post a link to a reply like this of my livestreaming my suicide or if I should follow through with my pseudo religious belief of becoming a tulpa by blowing my brains out in front of someone who is not expecting it in real life. >you will never forget that someone actually did this in front of you >bang
You should do BOTH of those, no reason you can't find a random stranger while livestreaming in reply to that other post.
I don't condone suicide. but if you're convinced to do it you should make it count.

I think this is the moment when the show jumped the shark , when they weren't even trying to make science, the whole idea may absolutely no sense. This is gone from stupid funny make believe in some sort of social commentary. Suicide is bad guys but spaghetti. I hate these newer seasons, it should just be random stupid microwave comedy

If the writers wanted to take the show to a real level of commentary, there would be a episode where Rick needs to confront not only reality, but the REAL reality
Maybe a episode were it's revealed that Rick's "'"science""" is just plain up magic that some godly space alien goblin gave him after some deal he stumbled upon, and then he loses. He can still be smart, but there is no more "it's sci-fi bro! A space wizard did it", no more spaceships build out of junkyard, no more alternative realities being more than a barely understood mathematical concept
For Rick to get his powers back, he needs to admit to the space alien goblin that he actually likes getting away with his hypocrisy and being a space wizard that fricks around and is aways the center of attention
Brainlet post
There are many legitimate scientific theories presented in it, even if they're done in the form of jokes. They have multiple writers with Masters and PhDs in stem fields, and have even come up with mathematical proofs specifically for the show.
Meanwhile R&M is wacky random shit and then "Science" magically provides whatever plot convenience is needed at the time.
Speaking of Futurama, this episode literally is the Jurassic Bark category of adult sitcom episodes >wacky plot >random tear jerker at the end to make the audience feel like they watched something touching or intelligent >it's easy to generate pathos out of sad music or dying animals so this always tricks the general audience
If we don't get at least ONE Morticia episode before it's over I'm gonna be so mad
Also where the FRICK did Planetina go? She should have incinerated most of Earth's population by now. She's still free, still out there.
That would be ideal, but I'm afraid that would be too based.

seriously, they could frame it as having to learn how to truly love yourself, just like how they have set up in the finale that morty is too reliant on his relationship with rick. He should go on a bunch of dates and have them never really work out, just like he has been, and then boom he meets morticia and it's like "you have to learn how to love yourself before you can love anyone else" boom, show closer endgame romance option, I get my incest-selfcest fantasy and the pearlclutchers get their sappy emotional beat, we all win
I really fricking hope not. Rick and Morty may still have some cool ideas in general, but the execution is what pisses me off sometimes. It just isn't consistently funny anymore. The show feels tired, and it's only been 70 episodes. That doesn't sound like a show capable of running for 20 seasons like the other TV sitcom giants. Someone needs to take Dan Harmon down a peg.
This episode was good because they actually went to another planet and explored the mechanics of an absurd idea. Not a huge fan of the emotional parts. But it did explore a wacky premise which is what the show should be doing most of the time instead of being a budget Bojack Horsemen
The delivery of that line pissed me off for some reason. I guess cause it was in every trailer, and the Justin Roiland imitator sounds particularly horrible in that line. He got better over time, I guess.
thats why you only watch the episodes that don't immediately make you cringe from their premise. the season is good if you just watch the good episodes
FRICK yeah. It's all protein, even the faux pasta, and tastes better than the best Spaghetti you've ever had...I would literally PREY upon that planet's people, kidnapping 2 or 3 a week and putting them through some Jigsaw shit.
Nothing really matters. Why should I worry about negatively impacting someone else with my suicide? I was originally going to blow my head off into my neighbors car just because he annoyed me.
The ultimate act of control is blowing your brains out just to prove a point to someone who says you won't do it on a whim.
The porn game guys should add a Mind Blowers of Morty going out with and fricking someone from another show. Like Star Butterfly or Wendy Corduroy or someone else approximately his own age. Like someone from the Owl House or something. I just feel like the multiversal thing gives a lot of opportunities.
Night Mirror isn't going to pursue storylines with other characters - he's only focusing on finishing the game and tie any loose ends with the major characters, with the current patch.
If you're able to somehow get in touch with Ferdafs, however, you could probably convince him to do crossovers, once he's back on the saddle.
I wouldn't even need it to be in-depth with like locations or anything, it would be enough for morty to go to the citadel of ricks and go to an interdimensional dating service and go on a speed date with a couple cameo girls like a slightly older Mabel, or Connie Maheswaran or something, just a couple haha gags and then he goes out with someone specific and they get out of there and plow, boom one-off mind-blower
I hope there's a quick gag next season where it shows Jerry has a hidden box of cans of Morty-O's Suicide Spaghetti under his bed or something, and him shamefully eating one in the bathroom.
I just started season 6, I'm halfway through. Pretty good so far actually, not as terrible as the abomination that is fricking season 5. Only bad episode was the lesbian sex with space beth episode. I general just a fricking terrible character, but I but the others were alright.
How does the new season compare on a scale from Space Beth masturbation sex to Morty stuck in Roy's NPCs?
>Episode goes out of it's way to show that eating the spaghetti is not in any way murder or harmful to the person because it's only from suicide and it can benefit the society >But that fricks up the intended moral greyness they were aiming for so the spaghetti planet goes full moron and starts pushing people into suicide for pennies despite having already been an advanced wealthy civilization.

>the entire episode was a criticism of capitalism, anon.
It was a very poorly thought out lazy one if that's the case.
They were already a nearly post scarcity wealthy society, going all in on the spaghetti would be like if every major industry in the real world decided to stop producing oil and planes and cars and energy and just decided to focus entirely on making floor wax, leaving trillions of dollars of profit behind so they can make hundreds of thousands of dollars, it confuses the metaphor and indicates that the writer is moronic.
if aliens came to earth and told us that aborted 8-and-a-half-month fetuses were a delicacy and were willing to pay hundreds of billions of dollars a year for this incredible treat, do you have any doubt in your mind that the entire earth economy would not suddenly revolve around farming women?
But we have no indication that the aliens WERE playing that much for the spaghetti, because why the hell would anyone spend that much for spaghetti no matter how good it was?
And why invest that much time and effort into harvesting spaghetti when you already have industries that are far more profitable and require less effort and fewer ethical issues?
This was the metaphorical equivalent of that trope in movies where the t-rex abandons it's fresh sauropod kill to obsessively chase after the tiny human.
If they wanted a "capitalism bad" metaphor they could have just ripped off any of the countless others that did it far better instead of a mixed metaphor that makes zero sense in the context of the story or as a metaphor.
it's good. A couple pitfalls and you literally do not want to watch the numbericons episode, it's clear that it was written during the writer's strike and it literally should not be canon, it comes across like an episode out of a totally different, much worse show. There aren't even any actual funny gags, morty's barely in it, rick isn't in it at all. Other than that there's only like two kind of uninteresting episodes and the rest of the season is a blast.

Commodification aside, I'm already perfectly aware that dead things once had their own lives and complexities before they died. It's special, but at the same time it's not special. The episode would have been much better if everyone expected and tried to find some gross/unethical way Rick was making amazing spaghetti but it just turned out he was a good cook
>dude feel bad for a homewrecker
I would've eaten that guy's spaghetti so bad.
I don’t think we were supposed to feel bad for him or sympathize, it was just the fact that they saw through an entire guy’s life story and then ate him, and every plate of spaghetti had a story like that.
How good does spaghetti have to be for you to resort to cannibalism?
They were aliens so not cannibalism.
Cannibalism is the act or practice of feeding on members of one's own species.
And the joke in the episode is cannibalism, otherwise the aliens wouldn't look human.
No. The joke in the episode is a blatantly obvious inside joke on all of the stupid, gullible kids watching, who are convinced by their misplaced, unquestioning opinion of the show's "intelligence" that it is somehow "smart" for them to believe that, "nothing really matters".
The characters are smoothbrains. Those people obviously aren't human. Humans don't transmute into italian dishes upon offing themselves.
Man, I'd eat you no problem if I could get away with it.
Kinky
Sorry, I have a rule that you have to buy me dinner first before you're allowed to eat me
Eat anon out right?
…right?
Out in a grill while smoking him for hours so I can eat his body at my own leisure for weeks, yes.
If human flesh were easily available via some cruelty free method (vat grown for instance), was affordable and there were no potential health concerns to eating it I'm willing to bet there would be tons of people willing to eat it once the initial shock and outrage died down, if only for the sake of novelty.
There are already tons of people in sub-Saharan Africa who historically have, and still do. Maybe you'd like to go live there.

Probably the most realistic reaction.
How bad does your cooking have to be for people to resort to vomiting from the idea of eating it?
My problem with the episode is that the family has never given a frick about eating body parts from sentient aliens before. They kept a box with their regular food. Suicide spaghetti should have been absolutely fine for everyone.
Continuity means frick all with shows nowadays.
>expecting a wacky adult cartoon to have character consistency
But the family was okay with eating the spaghetti, Morty was the only one who had moral concerns about it.
This
Proof that this ep was too high IQ for you plebs.
Eating visibly edible "eye holes" Vs eating actual people made with spaghetti...
Eyeholes were procured by violence, spaghetti was ethically harvested in all cases. Only a morallet would care more about the spaghetti.
I am now!
I want to kill myself.
What is the context that made them post this embarrassing shit?
suicide hotline is a fricking joke, it's just bored people who aren't allowed to give any real advice. if i had a gun in my hand you can bet your ass these fricks wouldn't convince me to not pull the trigger

You should do BOTH of those, no reason you can't find a random stranger while livestreaming in reply to that other post.

This shit never tried to make science. It isn't futurama, it's just a stupid show where the superpower of the guy is "science"
If the writers wanted to take the show to a real level of commentary, there would be a episode where Rick needs to confront not only reality, but the REAL reality

Ask the writers.
I think a one-off episode where it follows Morticia and her Rick or something could be interesting.
it would be incredibly based for them to introduce morticia and for her to be morty's endgame romance option
That would be ideal, but I'm afraid that would be too based.
seriously, they could frame it as having to learn how to truly love yourself, just like how they have set up in the finale that morty is too reliant on his relationship with rick. I don't know the reference.
It was a reaction of disapproval.
Rick and Morty forever 100 years
This episode was good because they actually went to another planet and explored the mechanics of an absurd idea. Not a huge fan of the emotional parts. But it did explore a wacky premise which is what the show should be doing most of the time instead of being a budget Bojack Horsemen
A woman wrote this episode. Which explains the quality.
What if Rick killed Planetina after she took off? Put her down like an old dog for being inconvenient and dangerous?
Imagine the implications.
That would be an expected ass-pull by the Dan and the writers if they were ever asked what happened to her.
Evil women aren't allowed to die in this show, that's hecking sexist
Oh yeah, Supernova is still alive, isn’t she?
And the therapist
If this show were still being written correctly Rick would have killed her a long time ago
Right
Oh right. And even Rick killed her.
The delivery of that line pissed me off for some reason. I guess cause it was in every trailer, and the Justin Roiland imitator sounds particularly horrible in that line. He got better over time, I guess.
He still struggles with basic infliction to sound like Rick. It gets very hollow.
but are you ready for ricks famous spaghetti
Episodes like this and the train are so overwritten it feels like a parody of R&M
thats why you only watch the episodes that don't immediately make you cringe from their premise. the season is good if you just watch the good episodes
aw jeez
I’ve been too busy moving to keep this thread alive.
Where you moving?
To a friend’s house on the other side of town.
FRICK yeah. It's all protein, even the faux pasta, and tastes better than the best Spaghetti you've ever had...I would literally PREY upon that planet's people, kidnapping 2 or 3 a week and putting them through some Jigsaw shit.
What else should we expect from a show that was created by a literal shit eater?
I noticed that the viewing figures for season 7 were some of the shows lowest ever. I know they got renewed for the long haul but it makes ya think
Happy new year
Ripping off a dead meme is it’s only legacy.
I want to eat that stuff ao badly.

How's the new season? Is It worth watching?
it's good. Do people really go about their day and interact with other people constantly and still not have this fact cemented into their brains? Am I the crazy one?

Not at all.
The whole sappy music and flashback romance is basically a R&M staple at this point, it works so why not keep doing it?
most people have a layer of empathy calcification created by the vagaries of modern capitalist life.
