I bought a handgun for my friend 9 years ago using his credit card. He wasn't old enough for a pistol but he did legally own a rifle. I figured it would be mine but he would pay for it and we would go shoot it together, but it just ended up being his. He did stupid shit with it like aiming at people during drunk arguments and firing it out a window for laughs. Last I heard he gave it away a few years ago. I'm still haunted by the memory of the card being declined multiple times, the clerk catching on that maybe something is fricked, but then pushing it through anyway, and how I almost could have gotten in deep shit for that. I cringe that someone almost (or may have) died because of my actions.
It's stories like this that convince me we unironically need to mandate IQ tests to buy guns and implement "firearm education and safety" classes in all high schools.
Firearm safety used to be taught in schools. We need to bring it back and treat it like drivers ed, shop class, home ec and auto shop. Schools need to teach more life skills instead of shit forcing ahit like shakespeare and calculus.
I completely agree. It's absurd that we'll waste more time and money teaching kids how to put penis in vegana than we will about safe and legal gun handling. If you ever take an entry-level CCW class, there are always mouth-breathers who think it's legal to point guns at people over road rage, trespassing on your front porch, etc. Even Sleepy Joe himself told people to just buy a shotgun and shoot through the front door with both barrels. Most normalgays are ignorant rubes who have no idea how firearms actually work even though it's our constitutional right to own them.
Sex ed is also important otherwise you get the moronic teen pregnancy and std rates that are skyhigh in the south.
