Tomino was just slowly working on a novel that would later become Zeta, which Tomino did bring Yas back for. Did that moron get amnesia and forget he did character designs for Z and was a consultant on ZZ? Also, clearly Sunrise thought Tomino was the brains behind the operation since they approached Tomino directly for the sequels, and they were right.
1. Yas has been saying there shouldn't be a sequel to Gundam since 1983.
2. Tomino sperged out at him and started antagonizing him for no reason after Crusher Joe. This led to a physical fight were Tomino feared for his life.
3. Yas only did character designs and nothing else for Zeta. He was never in a single meeting for Zeta and designed characters off of second hand information.
4. Yas is salty because he was looked down upon by Miyazaki for his involvement with Gundam.

Huh... he obvious is complaining about working with Tomino post-MSG, pre-F91, from the time he worked with him - so, yes, Zeta and ZZ. His complaint is exactly that he felt Tomino was less approachable and felt full of himself at the time compared to when they worked in MSG. He couldn't say something like that if they hadn't worked together during that period.
Yas distanced himself from MSG when it looked like it was going to be a disaster, and when it gained a huge following Tomino got all the credit. He'll eternally seethe because he's a yellow israelite and he missed an opportunity to make more money.
Tomino never made any actual films though. He wanted to, but he couldn't.
