Why are cats portrayed as mean, villainous creatures, to relate to their real life aloof behavior, but mice are portrayed as good, heroes despite being a pest in real life?

6 of those characters are at least antagonistic.

Because cats are self serving dicks. It's literally the only reason we tolerate them as pets. It's also why cats are the only domesticated animal to never truly be domesticated.

It's easy to view mice/rodents in general being underdogs because of how they're naturally seen. Plus they're actually really cute. Cats however, have to be stuck as the villainous/antagonist because of their nature that when humanized would make them look like dicks so it's easy for people to put them in that role.

You won’t be saying that when you see them in a restaurant or your house.

Of course not, I'm just explaining that their status in real life explains why they're usually portrayed as the underdog in media. I think all rodents have cute faces, doesn't mean I won't swat the shit out of a wild one if its in my house though, if I can't get it out humanely anyway.

Got news for you cats themselves ARE pests. And do I need to explain the phenomenon known as Feral Dogs? Also pests.

The fact of the matter is anthropomorphism of animals only works so long as you are stupid and ignorant of how the animal species in question truly are and how they would repulse humans in real life. For example anyone who tells you that cats are clean needs to be killed for lying. Cats are disgusting and their idea of being "clean" includes licking their shit encrusted anus and spreading its shit bacteria all over its body and then spread it to your entire home hence the old adage "Cats make your house stink" yeah stink of their shit and piss. And besides being a health risk for humans cats destroy ecosystems by spreading waste surplus killing everything that they can kill eliminating food sources for animals who need them because at the end of the day stupid humans feed cats. So when a cat is killing millions of animals in nature they mostly kill for fun not to survive.

Cats are god awful animals if anything we need less heroic feline characters. Cats are seriously shit. How shit are they? Cats actually besides damaging human health, flora and fauna are also poison to Great Felines. Cats can and do infect panthers and other Great Felines with exclusive feline diseases. So yeah cats are vermin they are shit. The entire Earth benefits from the extinction of cats.

My entire point is that mice are vermin. They invade people’s homes, eat their food and spread diseases. But they are mostly treated kindly in media.

Also, why do you hate cats to the point you wrote multiple paragraphs about your hatred? That’s a bit weird.

You can't really blame cats for that. That's our fault.

Have you ever seen a cat play with its food? that's why.
Cats can also be cute though which is another aspect used in a lot of their characterizations

Nah cats are chill, I think the problem is most people spoil the cat.
Cats are working animals with a specific job, but people fatten them up and lock them indoors when they should be patrolling for pests.

I love cats but they're kind of dicks. And that's part of their appeal... like a good villain. Mice are whatever. They exist to eat and poop, like most animals.

Mice are vermin. They will invade your house, eat your food and shit everywhere. They suck.

But why are mice "heroes"? They are disgusting, disease ridden thieves.

Those are all vermin as well. They can destroy gardens, bird feed, or get into your wiring. I've had rabbits frick up my flowers too much times.

    >people like underdog stories
    >the biggest underdogs in nature are prey
    >the “closest to home” example of predator/prey is the cat and mouse
Simple as that. People don’t want to watch the underdog lose and making the top dog too sympathetic will usually make it less fun

That’s true, but some of these mice characters don’t have cats in their stories, yet are still portrayed as heroes.
