The female side is objectively better. Honestly enjoyable movies that you can actually sit down and have fun with. Many of them are genuinely well made. Sound of Music? Beauty and the Beast? Edward Scissorhands? Tangled? Masterpieces.
The male movies are blatant tryhard. Trying to be cool, trying to be smart, with homosexual depictions of crass masculinity.

Almost every movie in the men's list is good, while the women's list is filled with children's movies. Not sure what I should infer from this but it's interesting.
Women are naturally more youthful (in a good way), which means women should be dating much younger men. Men dating women their own age is practically almost pedophilia when you consider the differences between men and women.
Yeah. The only bad movies are the Indian ones, Platoon, and M. Don't care about Fritz Lang's reputation or influence. His movies bore me. The rest are good or great. Rashomon, River Kwai, and Paths of Glory are masterpieces.
You guys are gonna miss when women were light like this, now they’re really discovering media snobbery and it’s the lamest shit ever, go look at letterboxd.

Not even going to dignify the notion that the Blind Side is a more enjoyable movie than Lawrence of Arabia because the latter "tries too hard" with a counterargument.
Lawrence or Arabia was a literal homosexual, as in he loved hanging out with Arabs because they allowed him to sodomize adolescent boys (huge part of Muslim culture). He was so gay in real life that he made up that entire incident where he was captured and sexually abused by the Turks.
So if you thought he was a dandy that's good casting.
what you chudcels don’t understand is that women’s lives are extremely difficult. they need easy movies to escape the horror of being a woman. men watch movies to be challenged because life for them is on easy mode
Only one of the films on the women's list makes it in their top 50 and only one film on the men's list makes it in their top 50. Why do chudditors keep posting this and claiming it accurately shows the taste of males or females in film?
It indicates that women respect men enough to see masculine things as having value, while men hate women so much that anything feminine is seen as inferior.
Men are too insecure to enjoy family movies. They have to be big and sweaty and muscular and handsome and shoot something.

The YA like Hunger Games/Potter are for... young adults. Who are probably the exact people who rated these on imdb. They are the target audience.
Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast are objectively brilliant. Listen to what the 30-50 year olds who worked on these movies have to say about it, they are meant for everybody no matter what age. Just because kids are included doesn't mean it's not for adults.

The classics are rated highly by both women and men. Why would they be on this list? Women just like Tangled a lot more than men did. I don't see why, because Tangled was great.

the delta demonstrates that men don’t hate family movies (your point). if anything it shows women by and large have more contemporary sensibilities and taste than men, which is unfortunate.

We are talking about the specific pieces on this list. That's what the entire thread is about. You're trying to make some overall point that is proven false, and then when I ask you to discuss the topic of the thread, you say your own point doesn't apply. Then explain why it's on this list.

It's on the list... It's the movie I was originally talking about when you started arguing with me. You said something totally wrong in response to when I mentioned BATB, and then I asked you how does what you're saying apply to BATB, and you got mad.

There are few movies on this list to choose from. Since my point was about Disney/family specifically, I had 3 choices. I can understand how women identified with Elsa more than men, so that leaves me with two choices. I discussed both of those when I discussed Tangled and BATB. So how does your point even apply? I'm just wondering why men don't like these movies, so you tell me but then tell me it doesn't apply to these movies. Hello lmao?

yeah and you went and picked the movie on the list that’s 2nd-highest rated by men. also has a female-centric story and is still fairly highly rated by men. comparable to women rating seven samurai (classic), lawrence of arabia (classic), br 2049 (idk never saw it). just sit with this a while i have big boy things to do

I picked the only two movies that could possibly choose from. The one with less difference in ranking (40 to 379) is crazy and I'm not getting any explanation.
I don't think it does simply because the women's list is not dominated by feminine movies but by fantasy movies. The men's list is of movies which are grounded in reality. Some of them are even based on historical figures and events. There are only a couple of fantasy stories in there.
This list gets posted without context constantly, can someone explain to me how the “number 1” ranked movie is ranked 142 for women and 837 for men, and has several lower ranked movies beneath it? Same with men, how are they determining overall rank and why does it not align with the gender rankings?
because you're illiterate; all the information necessary to understand the image is in the image
they are being rank-ordered (first column) by delta (last column), delta being the difference between the male and female ranking
Look at the delta figure on the right. It's the ranking of the absolute distance between the male and female ranking alone.
Yea I’m moronic and didn’t catch the deltas being in descending order. This essentially makes this list meaningless, who gives a frick about an arbitrary delta for these specific films? Google IMDb top 200 rated films by women and of the top 25 (from what I read) most are kino.
I might be, but not moronic enough to think this list means anything. It’s just a list of films with biggest difference of opinion between genders, who cares? Top 10 IMDb ranked films for women: >1. Shawshank Redemption >2. Schindler’s List >3. The Godfather >4. LOTR: Return of the King >5. Life is Beautiful >6. 12 Angry Men >7. LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring >8. The Lion King >9. Spirited Away >10. Godfather 2
It teases out the fact that there is a non trivial subset of women who are legitimately silly and moronic even if they're getting carried by their betters
Yea but it’s an arbitrary comparison and nothing more. >Men like Kurosawa more than Harry Potter
Wow. Enlightening. >Women like Disney more than 1960s War Epics.
Shocking.
Not arbitrary at all as there are clear differences. They aren't grouping people by t shirt color but by gender which is a known biological differentiator.
Women like to poke fun at men for liking war, liking struggle, getting autistic about things, can't turn around and bristle when you're made fun of for being big superficial babies tbh.
I was surprised to see both Godfather 1 and 2 myself. If Disney is going to sneak it’s way in there at least it was a kino Disney flick. Spirited Away is peak Miyazaki as well.
Both are overrated, but the male side are movies for midwit pseuds while the female side are just mindless consumers.
Shut up, homosexual.
He’s right though.
quit posting ironic moronic garbage. it's not funny. it's not good bait
do your parents know you’re gay?
Why are you so upset?
>posts gay shit
>refuses to elaborate
you thought about conversion therapy?
>You're heckin gay if you disagree with me!
Chuds, everyone.
you are a gay though, it’s totally obvious
Stop crying.
stop being a homosexual all the time
.
did you stop? we’re all sick of your shit
Just giving you the (you)s you're craving for.
Not this time though. You need to work a little harder for it.
DUDE just stop being such a passive aggressive b***h you’ll get along with the guys for oncd
>midwit pseuds
No midwit pseuds are usually watching some obscure garbage no one cares about which I bet perfectly describes you preferences.
You're mostly right, but there's some great kino in the men's list. Also, The Sound of Music and Edward Scissorhands are good (but not great).
>The sound of music
>not great
🙁
anon does not yearn for the hills
Okay, The Sound of Music is objectively a masterwork of film, but I do not care much for musicals and I can't stand midatlantic accents.

What's wrong with platoon? One of the few war films directed by a guy who actually fought in the war.
Is a list of films truly overrated if it doesn't contain the Shawshank Redemption?
You guys are gonna miss when women were light like this, now they’re really discovering media snobbery and it’s the lamest shit ever, go look at letterboxd.
Yeah it's insufferable. That's why I only use IMDb. No c**ts there because they're only in it for social media clout.
I've only recently decided to take a look at Letterboxd, and I'm frankly impressed that they're even more reddit than reddit over there.
No one actually likes Edward Scissorhands.
Not even going to dignify the notion that the Blind Side is a more enjoyable movie than Lawrence of Arabia because the latter "tries too hard" with a counterargument.
Lawrence of Arabia was a great film and beautifully shot, but pic rel was a bit of a dandy, no?
Lawrence or Arabia was a literal homosexual, as in he loved hanging out with Arabs because they allowed him to sodomize adolescent boys (huge part of Muslim culture). He was so gay in real life that he made up that entire incident where he was captured and sexually abused by the Turks.
So if you thought he was a dandy that's good casting.
Women have good taste.
time for a lean night
Women's side is literal children-tier taste.
Men have got it good.
Average overrated movie year:
>2005 for women
>1974 for men
>2005 for women
this was compiled in 2018, so it's probably even worse now
It's movies men were told to watch by their dads, while their moms back then were too busy with the household to watch as many movies.
my dad likes frickin field of dreams
>The only Harry Potter movie missing from the women's list is the good one
lol
It's not missing. It means both women and men rated it highly. This list is movies the opposite gender DID NOT like.
I was about to make the same observation...
...but this anon is right. thanks for saving me from making a moronic post.
what you chudcels don’t understand is that women’s lives are extremely difficult. they need easy movies to escape the horror of being a woman. men watch movies to be challenged because life for them is on easy mode
What's difficult about their lives?
sometimes sub 8 men try to talk to them with romantic intentions
>life for men is on easy mode
Because we do more than whine and expect the other sex to change things
Men need to change men's crime rate.
Nah
Keep getting your limbs chopped off my men then.
No women need to change men's crime rate.
Only one of the films on the women's list makes it in their top 50 and only one film on the men's list makes it in their top 50. Why do chudditors keep posting this and claiming it accurately shows the taste of males or females in film?
learn how to read
Learn how to interpret a table, moron. This doesn't say what anons think it says.
Showing the extreme differences between male movies and female movies isn't useful to you?
There's not a single movie from 1999 on either list. Both moids and foids have lost. It's a total israeli cinematic victory.
The women have higher rankings for men's top movies, and the men have lower rankings for women's top movies.
This indicates to me that men generally have better taste in cinema.
It indicates that women respect men enough to see masculine things as having value, while men hate women so much that anything feminine is seen as inferior.
>equating femininity with shitty movies
what’s your problem dude?
You equate highly rated feminine movies as shitty and inferior.
>projection
i just see kids movies for the most part
Men are too insecure to enjoy family movies. They have to be big and sweaty and muscular and handsome and shoot something.

Why do we like kino? Because we're all based homosexuals
Order of the Phoenix I’m not too surprised about, but what sort of homosexual doesn’t like Chamber of Secrets?
>Beauty and the Beast (1991)
>Tangled
>Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
These are good movies.
>men are like THIS...but women are like THIS
KYS with this trash.
This is the clearest depiction of the superior sensibilities of men I've ever seen
if women are so stupid and insipid, then how come i want to stick my dick in them all the time.
Cinemaphile loves JK Rowling and all the Fantastic Beast movies, chud. Get your act together!
