i kept thinking who the hell she looked like and i realized it's Mia Malkova. what the frick
This board is usually full of face blind autists but this is spot on, she does looks like Mia, even more on video. The way she moves and the facial expressions, it's kind uncanny when they match.
What part of >Remember, all episodes contain worthwhile parts, and every episode contains clues to the Twin Peaks mythos. Skipping episodes is unwise.
always trips you autists up? Every Twin Peaks fan will tell you suffering through the red episodes is a necessary part of the experience, if anything the chart is a warning against dropping the show, rather than a warning in favor of doing so.
p.s. Fire Walk With Me and all of The Return go in green.
i didn't believe this chart at all but I just hit episode 10 for the first time. it's still good, but i noticed the pacing and dialogue is a bit off. or like they don't know what to do with certain characters?
At least give me an episode full of Albert and it will still be kino
the chart literally says the theories, but anons on here often say that they aren't true and that Lynch had say in everything being done. I kind of believe the theory that Lynch was pressured to reveal the killer too soon, so the writing suffered and they didn't know what to do.
I will always maintain that Lynch and Frost were wrong and had they gone ahead with their original plan of never revealing the mystery, there's no way it would have worked. People would have lost interest. Besides, the reveal of who the killer is and the resolution of that storyline is some of the strongest material in the entire series. I would never want to be deprived of that. The idea of the mystery just being "an entry point into the world of Twin Peaks" never made sense to me, if the show gradually transitioned away from the compelling and occasionally surreal mystery of who killed Laura Palmer and towards the more ordinary soap-influenced subplots about love triangles and Ghostwood development contracts, it would have died the same death, just more slowly.
ALL that being said, what kind of crack were the ABC executives smoking when they forced them to reveal everything in the MIDDLE of the fricking season? Jesus christ, at least have it happen in the finale like any sane person would do. That way the writers would have an entire year to figure out what to do next. The slow dripfeed of information about the Black Lodge and Windem Earle during the middle chunk of the second season is actually pretty effective and well paced as is, the problem is just that it's sharing runtime with a lot of useless subplots that were likely created out of pure desperation because they had absolutely no time to come up with something better and needed to fill episodes. Such a gap would've also allowed some time for Lynch to get over it and come back to the series like he ended up doing anyway.
S2 should have concluded the mystery, and S3 should have been the point at which they pivoted to the lodge and introduced Windem Earle as the new antagonist. The show might have had a fighting chance that way.
Season 2 should be given the bare minimum of respect. Anyone who has seen the show agrees with this chart, but everyone who watched the show watched everything. The chart only exists for conversation purposes.
"season one of TNG kinda sucks but it's worth pushing through".
People have and continue to give advice like this all the time. This infographic is superfluous and reddity but it sounds like their point is that season 2 is all over the place in quality but you should watch it all the way through.
>nooo don't watch that TNG s1 episode with black people it's racist >btw here's a s2 episode with irish stereotypes >also most civilisations are one dimensional stereotypes anyway, GODDAMN CAPTAIN I HATE THOSE FERENGI FRICK
i did not skip full episodes, but i admit that on my first run i fast forwarded scenes in those episodes focused on shitty subplots like james fixing car or nadine losing memory, only to get faster to the real kino like ben horne being general lee or gordon cole romancing shelly (best parts of the original series)
Honestly I did a rewatch of the entire series (including FWWM) recently and The Return is such pure unadulterated kino front to back that it kind of makes the rest seem less good by comparison.
I quit watching thus right after s2e9. I was really only interested in the murder mystery and once that was resolved I didn't have much interest in seeing the rest. Looks like I made the right call as it looks like this was exactly when the show went to shit
Same, but now i started watching all over again after like 2 years because I've heard the return is pretty good so I'm guessing you have to watch those episodes as well. Also you couldn't really call yourself a fan of the series if you didn't watch all of it, right?
i feel like you had to know the murder was solved there or there was a drop off or else you wouldn't have stopped. nobody just assumes "oh i guess the show will suck now" without some outside influence. there could always be a twist or a new mystery developed.
I was just looking for a decent procedural drama in a small town setting. The weirder more supernatural aspects of the series just didn't really appeal to me and honestly the X-Files did that kinda stuff way better.
I actually did this (not all the way through, just the first 10 minutes) because the moron who uploaded the torrents for FWWM and TMP had the names switched. It was hella confusing.
Lol, I had the exact same thing happen to me, and I didn't know what the frick was going on. I thought it was just Lynch being Lynch before I finally realized.
i kept thinking who the hell she looked like and i realized it's Mia Malkova. what the frick
Rashida Jones’ mother. I know she died recently but not sure if she made it in time for season 3
She's in S3 and has the comfiest scenes
glad to hear it. god i fricking wish Miguel Ferrer was alive. i'm doing the first watch of the series and he steals every scene he's in
I thought you were talking about that one disghisting mixed b***h from idiocracy for a second
Maya Rudolph? Are you mixing up Quincy Jones with Minnie Riperton or are you talking about just the names
The names. I just knew it was a mixed actress name and though it was her. Dodged a bullet there
>racists are morons
who would've guessed. now post some chicken scratch drawing of a guy with his mouth wide open
am i crazy? i need anons to weigh in
I wanted to call you a face blind moron, but then I could see it in the eyes.
thanks anon. i'm glad you didn't.
same dead eyes

This is a valuable chart. I'll be sure to skip the "mad sketchy" episodes as soon as I can figure out what order to watch the series in.
It's insane that people exist who think 'I want to watch this show, but I need someone else to tell me how I can watch as little of it as possible'.
It's really only excusable for anime which has filler episodes.

would you say they are "starred" green or just green?
>Directed by David Lynch
Do the math.
Gordon Cole became the great demon.
Twin Peaks remains one of the five greatest shows of all time
And the others?
Others remain ones of the five greatest shows of all time too
i've never seen a single episode of this show.
sneed
oh look, he overcame a ban to spread the gospel some more like a true schizo.

What happens during season 2 for it to take such a dive like that?

well thought out post. thanks anon
Np. Just my two cents.
>what kind of crack were the ABC executives smoking
Two words: Bob (n)Iger
I went in completely blind and I came out with the same opinion, James running away on the motorbike was so bad.
I will never understand why some people make this television show their whole personality.
Season 2 should be given the bare minimum of respect. Anyone who has seen the show agrees with this chart, but everyone who watched the show watched everything. The chart only exists for conversation purposes.
so you're saying that season 2 is bad but not bad enough to drop the entire show?
"season one of TNG kinda sucks but it's worth pushing through".
People have and continue to give advice like this all the time. This infographic is superfluous and reddity but it sounds like their point is that season 2 is all over the place in quality but you should watch it all the way through.
Why are you trying to influence opinions on people who want to influence opinions?
>nooo don't watch that TNG s1 episode with black people it's racist
>btw here's a s2 episode with irish stereotypes
>also most civilisations are one dimensional stereotypes anyway, GODDAMN CAPTAIN I HATE THOSE FERENGI FRICK
The S2 episode with Irish stereotypes is also garbage. No one argues that S2 isn't a mixed bag, it just has some amazing episodes.
Damn, Mark Frost really is a charlatan. Can we agree that if Lynch was the sole director, Twin Peaks would be 10/10?
Do you struggle with reading comprehension or something?
Skipgays need to get lynched wait they already are
We still pretend to like Twin Peaks?
You're next worst poster after anti-smoking anon. Frick off.
Reddit.
I just like the wymmn in it
like the eye patch lady?
hell yea, i wanna frick her eye socket
If it was a long-ass series I might be interested in skipping. But Twin Peaks is short. No reason to skip
I think there's an argument to be made that 19-21 should also be green.
i did not skip full episodes, but i admit that on my first run i fast forwarded scenes in those episodes focused on shitty subplots like james fixing car or nadine losing memory, only to get faster to the real kino like ben horne being general lee or gordon cole romancing shelly (best parts of the original series)
the nadine shit is boring as frick so far
Just plow through it. Every time I rewatch the middle section of S2 I just get shitfaced drunk. It makes it 200% more fun to watch.
>ben horne being general lee
Those scenes and the Windem Earle scenes are what got me through a lot of the more tedious parts of the series
Honestly I did a rewatch of the entire series (including FWWM) recently and The Return is such pure unadulterated kino front to back that it kind of makes the rest seem less good by comparison.

>x-files
Interesting. Hopefully some anons that have seen both can chime in on that comparison
I just finished S1 episode 7
I’m powering through season 2 to get to the movie and season 3
Watch The Missing Pieces after FWWM
Watch it before FWWM for a truly Lynchian experience.
I like the music
Because everybody's a gay.
Show sucks after episode 3
