The two series really have nothing in common except for grimdark tones and demonic enemies. In regards to its depth no medium is outstanding or meaningful to everyone who consumes it, but berserk has plenty of great themes not everyone who reads it is going to pick up on. As someone who has reread the series multiple times I always learn a new something when rereading it.
