In their defense, it worked. And you have to admit that the Black Order are more marketable in terms of merch than the Blood Brothers, which was the real goal.
I wonder what henchmen Kang the Conqueror will have in the MCU. Aside from Renslayer, are we gonna get the Anachronauts or the Chronos Corps?
The Blood Brothers could be marketable if they played up the tag team wrestler aspect of their fighting style, and their weird vampiric ability. Also who the frick decided to name them Gary and Ross?
>I wonder what henchmen Kang the Conqueror will have in the MCU. Aside from Renslayer, are we gonna get the Anachronauts or the Chronos Corps?
I want The Squadron Supreme.
>In their defense, it worked.
They served their purpose of giving the Avengers a good fight in Infinity War and then dying, I'll concede that their varied looks and powers probably made them work better than two big strong guys would have, but only one of them really got any characterization at all.
If you know the comics you'd get they were using the two Black Order members who are a couple as opponents for the two Avengers who were a couple, but you don't get much of a sense of that in the actual movie.
>And you have to admit that the Black Order are more marketable in terms of merch than the Blood Brothers, which was the real goal.
I've not seen any except some Marvel Legends figures, which MCU redesigned versions of the Blood Brothers could just as easily have had.
>I wonder what henchmen Kang the Conqueror will have in the MCU. Aside from Renslayer, are we gonna get the Anachronauts or the Chronos Corps?
I'd like to see them, but I expect the Anachronauts will get treated the same as the Blood Brothers and ignored. Kang will probably just have AU versions of superheroes as his henchmen, so something like the Chronos Corps but it's all aging actors from pre-MCU movies that you're supposed to clap and cheer when you see them.
>I wonder what henchmen Kang the Conqueror will have in the MCU.
Uh, none, cuz Johnathan majors screwed them over and now they don't know what to do about.
>Why does modern comics loathe stuff from the classic era?
Royalties, Marvel has to pay out to old writers to use their characters and if they do that then the new writers can't get those sweet sweet checks for their cool new OCs. And god forbid if an old writer or artist makes a stink when he gets pennies on the literal millions of dollars the movie makes
The Anachronauts are a bunch of literally whos that were casually killed off decades ago and nobody bothered bringing back, so I expect something closer to the Chronos Corps with alternate universe versions of recognizable characters.
>The Anachronauts are a bunch of literally whos that were casually killed off decades ago and nobody bothered bringing back
Anyone else still salty about the sheer number of early 90s Marvel and DC characters this kind of thing seemed to happen to in the late 90s and early 00s when a lot of books were being written by guys who were angry about 90s comics?
Thanos changed a lot since day 1, when he became established as a full on nihilist who seeks to erradicate life...having henchmen doesn't fit that. But its not as bad as giving him a son.
I know this is a parody, but it's also why I don't read comics anymore. It's just one giant jerkoff this days, with writer can outdo everyone else in edge.
They're JRPG bosses and don't fit the aesthetic of the rest of Marvel comics. It's the same issue the Ashen Combine, Three Mothers and most new villains have
I feel like they could have worked in the magic side since it could always use more villains. But making them subservient to a giant shadow baby that looks like dr,strange was dumb and its no wonder that aspect wasn't advertised and didn't show until the end. Plus writers tend not use magic characters outside magic books and most of the time strange is the only magic book.
>don't fit the aesthetic of the rest of Marvel comics
There's a Marvel comics aesthetic? Anyway the real problem with those designs is that they're too much of a pain for the lazy fricks at Marvel to draw.
They’re probably just waiting for her to pull her psychic form back together, though it’s pretty fricked up that the Grandmaster brought the rest of the team intact but chose to leave supergiant without her physical body.
Same, but it’s always felt like someone at marvel made Landy rewrite the last issue at the last minute and then scramble to get a new artist to draw it quickly. Because if I remember correctly around the same time that this was coming out they were also in Cates gotg.
I don't know if the whole issue had to be rewritten but he probably had to take them away from the grandmaster. There have been many cases of lower selling books take huge art hits in the final chapters with major theory being hiring cheaper artist to save money.
My fav part is how their superpowers are literally translate to "unbeatable, don't even bother, they're just to OP". And then Avengers beat them anyway, because story.
Because thanos shouldnt have henchmen.
He's had henchmen since day one, but for some reason 2010s Marvel created these guys in the hope the MCU would use them instead of the Blood Brothers.
In their defense, it worked. And you have to admit that the Black Order are more marketable in terms of merch than the Blood Brothers, which was the real goal.

>yfw they get Henry Cavill as Hyperion
>Cinemaphile's face when they have Brie kick his ass.
I look like this and I will do this in the theater when it happens
>In their defense, it worked.

Scarlet Centurion
>And you have to admit that the Black Order are more marketable in terms of merch than the Blood Brothers
Blood Brothers sound cooler, and certainly could've been reworked
Why does modern comics loathe stuff from the classic era?

Just rename them the Crimson Colleagues. There, problem solved. You're welcome, Cinemaphile.
The Anachronauts are a bunch of literally whos that were casually killed off decades ago and nobody bothered bringing back, so I expect something closer to the Chronos Corps with alternate universe versions of recognizable characters.

He shouldnt have stable henchmen, manipulating people to serve him is fine, but this feels too new god esque without any of the charm.
Thanos changed a lot since day 1, when he became established as a full on nihilist who seeks to erradicate life...having henchmen doesn't fit that. But its not as bad as giving him a son.
Made in ten minutes with mass effect assets
Because Thanos original henchmen, the blood brothers, started the trend. But lame as they may be, I like these edgy c**ts.
I actually like Ebony Maw.
I can't remember the context too well, but Hickman was doing some interesting stuff with him and strange in Avengers. I liked them in those comics
The real answer is that Jim Starlin didn't create them
They are OCs, but l like them.
>cenobite
cenobite as in clive barker's cenobites?
Yes, because the outsiders look like bargain bin cenobites.
I know this is a parody, but it's also why I don't read comics anymore. It's just one giant jerkoff this days, with writer can outdo everyone else in edge.
I appreciate how thick they made Proxima and Supergiant in ultimate alliance 3 and it just made wish that Swan had also been in the game.
Swan was fun, what's she even up to these days? She'll probably pop up in some Hickman shit down the line doing nebulous evil for no real reason.
The designs are forgettable, they could just as easily be Galactus heralds or some other minor cosmic villain. The names are dope tho
>black dwarf
>biggest guy on the team
gets me every time
They're JRPG bosses and don't fit the aesthetic of the rest of Marvel comics. It's the same issue the Ashen Combine, Three Mothers and most new villains have
Cobra hood chick is alright.
That crown dude is just Eva unit 13 in a bed sheet. The angel thing is Shekinah from SMT.
>don't fit the aesthetic of the rest of Marvel comics.
that's a good thing
I'm sure your steel donut will find it's way into Marvel too
Whoever designed these is based and sentaipilled.
>Three Mothers
They were pretty lame, would've been better if they just ripped off the three mothers from suspiria and it's sequels.
Still better than Mother Righteous.
I feel like they could have worked in the magic side since it could always use more villains. But making them subservient to a giant shadow baby that looks like dr,strange was dumb and its no wonder that aspect wasn't advertised and didn't show until the end. The robot girl can stay, the rest take a one way trip to the trash.
Seriously, the thicc robot chick can stay.
>Cityslayers
>they fricking HATE cities
>it's their thing
The Avengers should have beaten them by convincing everyone to live in small towns and villages while the Cityslayers continue to reee about cities.
I wish that they hadn't disbanded the last version of the lethal legion after their first story.
is mentacle a psychic with tentacles (mental + tentacle), or is it just a homosexual with tentacles (men + tentacle)
Yes.
The first one, she's a weird rigellian with tentacles for legs and more powerful telepathic powers than her species usually has.
>her
Oh my~
I wish that Supergiant wasn't replaced by Black Swan
I don't see why they couldn't have kept both. I guess they just assumed Supergiant died when she got slashed by the blue lady from the lethal legion
They’re probably just waiting for her to pull her psychic form back together, though it’s pretty fricked up that the Grandmaster brought the rest of the team intact but chose to leave supergiant without her physical body.
Ewing could have probably saved them he has had his hands on space for a long while. instead he killed Glory had the rest disappear.
>Ferene
Who dat?
I want Proxima and Corvus shenanigans.
Why wasn't Supergiant adapted?
She was in some concept art for the movie, but I guess they thought she would be redundant with Maw around.
I liked their mini
Just imagine, if Thanos had never found them Corvus could have been a comedian and his brother black dwarf could've a poet or something.
Same, but it’s always felt like someone at marvel made Landy rewrite the last issue at the last minute and then scramble to get a new artist to draw it quickly. Because if I remember correctly around the same time that this was coming out they were also in Cates gotg.

no black swan no party
Proxima is hot af.
Because Thanos shouldn't have henchmen. He's a character that just does everything herself.
My fav part is how their superpowers are literally translate to "unbeatable, don't even bother, they're just to OP". And then Avengers beat them anyway, because story.
I’d liked to pork Proxima and Supergiant
